    Avoid at all costs

    Terrible customer service. Had my car serviced, when I collected my car it was unlocked, the boot was not closed properly and the wiper didn’t work anymore. I’ve been trying to get this resolved for over 2 weeks, repeatedly told on 4 occasions that someone will call me within 48 hours, told it was escalated to a general manager would call me, and i have had no one contact me. A simple phone call and attempt to resolve the issue is all that is required. Nothing anyone in customer service told me will happen has happened, the issue is still ongoing. Avoid because no one helps when you have a problem and it should not be this difficult

    Good news

    It looks like Halfords don’t get many good reviews and once upon a time I would have agreed with that. Lately however I’ve been pleasantly surprised first in the Llanelli store where service was first class but last week and today the service went above and beyond in the Carmarthen store. Jordan was the young man’s name who went out of his way to be helpful I cannot praise him enough. All the staff had been so good but Jordan stood out from the crowd. Look after this young man he will go a long way. I wish I knew some of the others names to sing thier praises.

    Failed to deliver item for click and…

    Failed to deliver item for click and collect in specified date . Also 30 minutes on chat then India service centre to find out when it would be available. Still wasn't available in the date they changed it too. Waste of time

    Excellent customer service!

    Had a fantastic customer service experience today at the Hedge End store by a friendly and helpful sales assistant called Ben. Our car battery died luckily not far from the store. We went into Halfords to buy a replacement and hoped they might be able to install it for us. However they weren’t allowed as the car was off the property (totally fair enough!). Ben could have just sold us the battery and sent us on our way but instead he talked us through how to change the battery, gave us some tips and even loaned us the tools we would need. We managed to do it ourselves! Very impressed with this level of customer service which is unfortunately a rare find these days! Thanks Ben!

    Poor online customer service

    Poor online customer service. Ordered 4tyres online at well over £1000 and booked a time a week in advance for fitting. I took 1/2 day off work and drove to the fitting centre only to be phoned up when I was just around the corner saying that the tyres were not there and could I come in tomorrow. Do these people think you sit at home waiting for them to be ready? I phoned customer services who then sent me a mail offering a measly £20 e gift card. It’s already cost more than that taking 1/2 day off work and driving to the centre. I e-mailed explaining this but didn’t get a reply, some customer service I must say. I’ll try Kwik Fit in future. Still not had the tyres fitted. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Update, eventually after several phone calls from myself and a week later I managed to talk to someone in customer services that actually did something and took the case up for me resulting in a positive outcome.

    I paid over £350 for 4 new tyres to be fitted by their mobile service. They took the money out of my bank but didn't make the appointment so I'm currently £350 out of pocket, I have spent the weekend panicking I wouldn't get the money back and am now stuck in a slow backwards and forwards email conversation with Customer Service. Still haven't got my money back or the tyres I paid for. Wish I hadn't picked Halfords, very poor service.

    An awful experience

    I am writing this review to express my utter disappointment with the service I received from Halfords. I cannot stress enough how I would not recommend their services, especially for tire fitting. After two attempts to get my tyres fitted, I am left feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. During my first phone call, I was informed that the tires had arrived but couldn’t be fitted. On my second visit, I was told that the tires Halfords had specifically instructed me to purchase were not suitable for my car. Three days later, I am still without the tires I paid £500 for, and now I face the prospect of either waiting for a refund or paying an additional £400 to have them fitted elsewhere. To make matters worse, I missed two days of work due to their incompetence, which forced me to use my annual leave. The customer service has been appalling; I attempted to contact the branch multiple times and even requested to speak with a manager, but to no avail. I am absolutely disgusted by the lack of professionalism and care shown by Halfords. If you value your time and money, please do yourself a favor and avoid using their services. This experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. And I give 0

    You can't put a bike rack on that! Yes we can

    Hi Halfords, I recently had the pleasure of visiting you Perth branch (retail park in city) with a difficult request, (I know, they all are ;) 23years retail myself). Had the chance to by a very good 2nd hand Trek Electric bycicle, but we have a Chevy Camaro, which lets face antics ALL the boxes. Nevertheless we approached the counter and were taken to the cycle car racks, nothing! Then the young lady asked your cycle expert Jess, remember that name, she came out looked at the car, looked under the car (yes she did!) and then returned to the shop, coming back a few moments with a bike rack. She then proceeded to fit the rack, advising all the way how to protect tge car, she was concerned about the plastic bumper but found a way around that too, then once again under the car with a pair of hook type clips (not part of the bike rack package) and attached them and the straps to show us exactly how to fit it to work for us! At this point we were over the moon with Jess's customer focus and customer care,but no I hear you gasp too! Removed the display model, then went and ordered us a new one AND, AND then went online on your site and found us a pair of hook clips to anchor the bottom part of the rack, ordered them all and we pi ked them up on the following Friday. Can we just send a massive thanks to Jess in Perth Halfords, we have not come across that high level of customer service, customer care and determination to meet a customers needs in over 20 years. That young lady needs to be given an award, she is not only a credit to the store, but a credit to Halfords, and lastly a credit to herself, for going over and above excellent customer care. In an era were there is such negativity to the young working staff, she has proved them wrong. Customer facing shop workers regularilly face the most annoying and rude customers, more than any other professionals staff (as I said I did 23 years) and deserve the respect of the public, Jess is a superstar in our opinion, thank you.     Halfords autocentre been 4 times for…

    Halfords autocentre been 4 times for them to sort alignment payed twice had 2 x 4 tyres fitted due to been alignment set wrong now I need a 9th tyre due to scrubbed the edge once again do not use this place for alignment every suspension arm / joint is brand new fitted front and rear of the vehicle before coming for alignment aswell

    Failed MOT because of Halfords incompetence

    I trusted Halfords to change both my car's headlights, a simple job, or so I thought. I paid £44.38 in February for the bulbs and fitting. The technician clearly struggled and spent a long time on one side, I questioned if it was fitted correctly at the time. Turns out I was right to worry. Two months later, my car failed its MOT for: Headlights being different colours, and The beam on one side being completely misaligned. The garage found a clip inside the headlight unit, left there from the botched Halfords job and I had to pay £180+ to fix it properly, including buying new bulbs again because the ones Halfords fitted weren’t even matching! Halfords not only wasted my money, but also compromised my safety and nearly cost me my MOT. The technician clearly lacked training or care, and I’m now out of pocket hundreds of pounds because of this. Avoid Halfords for anything beyond windscreen wash their incompetence cost me dearly.

    Awful

    Was just at Halfords in rutherglen looking at e-bikes for my husband. He is a pensioner and not looking to do the tour de france. Told by the sales assistant at the bike section that although they do an e-bike for £749 anything under a £1000 plus "doesn't work" which begs the question of why they're selling it ? Awful snotty,arrogant attitude.

    Be careful when using your registration number in their online part checker tool.

    I ordered a replacement starter battery for my car using Halfords Registration Number based part checker tool. Having signed up for their Motoring Club the total cost including fitting £124.99. However the Malvern branch could not fit the ordered battery because its poles are the wrong way round. They then fitted (squeezed in) another battery which has its poles the correct way round but is physically too big. As in, not recommended as being suitable by anyone, including Halfords, and despite my polite objections, insisted on charging me an additional £26.10 for doing so. So, since the battery is for my second car and the look of it matters to me, the following morning I went to another supplier, purchased the correct physical size battery and fitted it myself. Halfords battery is now sitting on my garage floor, along with (as far as I'm concerned) their reputation. As I write this review Halfords website still shows the two incorrectly recommended batteries as being suitable. I have screenshots, a receipt and their "Pre Fit / WCR Vehicle Inspection" form 029386 to confirm what is said above.

    Genuine customer service

    I dropped my son’s bike in with a puncture and got it serviced in Naas Halfords. A young guy Conor looked after us, and it’s the first time in years that I’ve received such genuinely good customer service. Aside from properly servicing the bike, he was friendly, kind and made you feel like you were being looked after. It’s not something that comes across in most retail places anymore but Conor was excellent. Thanks

    I bought 4k Road angel halo play…

    I bought 4k Road angel halo play dashcam . After getting professionally installed by Halfords I found out that the front camera is blurry while recording (not even 2k recording) , went back to Halfords to show the issue , Halfords technician said I nothing they can do and I should contact Road angel company directly(which I did) . Please I recommend not to buy 4k halo play as it is not clear images on front . I have Road Angel halo go and it is more clear than 4k .

    Dreadful ordering process

    Dreadful ordering process. Ordered 27 April. Supposed to arrive in store 4 May. It’s now 10 May and I have no idea if or when the item will arrive. Customer service on the phone can’t reach the store and says it’s on its way from another supplier. Why advertise as in stock then? Cancelled the order. Waste of time and energy!

    Pointless request for information

    Order a car battery on website. Ask for my plate number and then gave me a selection of batteries, which was pointless as had to measure battery to see if would fit. Engineer came out at 17.30 in a window of 8am to 8pm and said I had ordered wrong battery. Thenopen app and Engineer could not find the write battery himself so left with new battery. Spoke to Customer service, and had a lady with such a heavy South African accent that I had to ask her to keep repeating herself. Refund finally arrange but takes 3 to 5 working days. No point putting license plate in if they still cannot get right battery. Shockingly bad service. cannot recommend.

    Appalling service

    Utterly disgusting mobile tyre fitting service. Incompetent technician unable to identify damage to damaged tyres (but considered them not faulty) and even more incompetent manager Kieran at Tonbridge Hub. Not only the service was poor, they charged me the full price of £500 for 2 potentially used tyres. This information was withheld from me. When I complained customer service offered me replacements. Technicians then subsequently failed to show up on 2 different occasions without any notice wasting 2 days and also claiming the job to be completed. In my next complaint, customer services offered me a refund, only to have that refund withdrawn by the management and the support ticked closed without warning. On escalating the complaint further the managers dismissed me and my complaint with no ground for doing so, claiming that what they were doing was legal and “they didn’t care if I escalated to trading standard”. Following this, Halfords sent me a fraudulent invoice with made up dates and works that were never carried out. I will take this through a remediation mechanism and as far as I need to go.
