    Halfords online home delivery

    Having defaulted to sending an order to an old address, despite specifying a new one, I tried to immediately cancel the order as is my consumer right. The web site refused to allow a cancellation so I phoned them immediately, 1 hour after placing the order & 6 hours later. On the final call I was finally told that they do not allow online orders to be cancelled but I would need to return it (at my cost) once it was delivered. This breaches consumer law. DO NOT USE HALFORDS. In my case as the goods (oil) would be delivered to an old address I physically couldn't receive & return anyway. As I also couldn't change the address on their system they have made the return of the goods impossible. Also in breach of consumer law. I repeat DO NOT use Halfrauds

    Worst ever service from a retail outlet

    Booked my bike in for a free 25 point check last week in Fenton, Stoke. Man came to take a look at my bike and said it was fine, turned around and went back to whatever he was doing. He barely looked at my bike. Why do they employ people like this ?

    Order never came

    waited in all day but order never came,tracking sais parcel is now back at depot after being out for delivery all day ,rang Halfords and absolutely no help at all ,told them I want refund as sick of waiting after 7 days ,complete waste of time ,never using Halfords again ,useless ,customer service team is about as much use as a chocolate tea pot

    Bought a square trailer style reg from Durham Centre, still not recieved??

    Bought a square trailer style reg plate. It had to be ordered in. I bought this in store, for collection the next monday. I went twice that week still not here 2 weeks later. Online track your order does not work. No customer care email or way to contact other than phone which I cant wait on the phone line when Im at work. Can I get an update ?? I need a reg plate or a refund. Im not treking over to your store again without it being there. absolute shambles

    Staff Amazing customer support from Sara @ Haverfordwest, South Wales

    Just want to say a massive thank you to Sara at the Haverfordwest store for all her help after we went on holiday last week and left our roof box key at home! After some rooting around for spare keys and some phone calls, we managed to get the lock drilled out and temporarily strap it closed for the week and the holiday was saved. Really appreciate the help and advice, thanks again Sara :)

    Halford's Chiswick High Road

    Unlike your car, bicycles dont undergo a mandated annual inspection, so its difficult sometimes to know what is functuoning as it should and what needs attention. After not riding my bicycle for a while, i booked a free slot for a bicycle health check. I had the great fortune of running into a young man by the name of Renaldo. He was a bike specialist and gave me all the information I needed to properly understand why some elements of my gearing and braking system had fallen out of alignment. I was someone who would usually just lather the bike in WD40 and presume that that was all that was required. Its helpful to understand that after years of doing so, why and how some of my controls had begun to oxidise. There are an ever increasing host of bike care products, but Renaldo gave me the options which started with the most affordable, rather than omitting them altogether. I didnt feel pressured or steered in one direction or another. I simply benefitted from this young man's expertise as he proceeded with a diligent focus to make my bicycle safe and roadworthy. In an age where people dont take pride in their work or want to rush you out of the door, i cant speak highly enough about Renaldo and the team in the cycling department at Halford's. I left the store with a better understanding of my bike. How to maintain it and the products to use so that I didnt encounter any more of the ongoing issues. After the full evaluation and a little bit of calibration here and there, Renaldo even helped measure my little boy for his next ride. Renaldo was/is an expert in bike related affairs. I would strongly recommend visiting him and his department for all your cycling needs. I left the store with some maintenance-related products, but never felt upsold. Renaldo went over and above and for that priority and pride in his work, his department have earned my family's confidence.

    Horrendous experience trying to buy a car seat!! Absolute chaos, just trying to order and collect. Highly incompetent, terrible customer service and hours of time wasted trying to get a refund for a seat that l was charged twice for. Still no refund!!!! Avoid the Cribbs Causeway branch at all costs you will regret it. Buy your car car seat else where! :(

    Bought a junior Carrera bike for my 6-year-old’s birthday—brilliant quality and smooth ride. He’s thrilled with it! Completed the product review but didn’t get a chance to rate the staff—so I wanted to say a huge thank you to Omer, Katie and Jake at the Colchester store. They went above and beyond to fit a water bottle holder exactly how my autistic son wanted it, even though it wasn’t standard for that bike. So patient, kind, and helpful—a real credit to the store. Wouldn’t definately by a bike from this store again. :)

    I ordered a bike online

    I ordered a bike online. When logged into my account I noticed that my address was my old address so o changed it to my new address. When I payed I noticed that there was two different addresses, one for billing and one for delivery. The delivery address was still set at my old address even though I had changed it when ordering. There was no way online I could change it or cancel the order. The only way to cancel the order was to phone. I phoned 20 minutes after I had ordered online. When I finally got through to someone he told me he couldn't cancel my order. I have payed a lot of money for a bike that's going to the wrong address and I'm getting told they won't cancel my order. I had to go in the shop to get someone to speak to him and then he changed his story to he can only cancel it in 48hrs time. I need it canceled now so it doesn't get delivered to the wrong address. I still don't know if it's canceled and 48hrs to cancel an order is too long as they could send it out in the meantime to the wrong address. I won't be paying for it if they do.

    Excellent service from Karl who fitted…

    Excellent service from Karl who fitted a new battery for me yesterday, it was a Peugeot RCZ and not easy at all to get to the battery but Karl did wonders and patiently removed everything to get at the battery. Great guy.

    Purchased a Battery from the local…

    Purchased a Battery from the local Bedford branch went back into store as the battery is completely dead purchased around a year ago but can not find my invoice made to feel special when purchasing the battery how a 4 year battery would be better and so on basically miss sold it to get more money, anyway today 18-5-25 went into the local Bedford store and spoke to the store manager totally not interested in helping as I didn’t have my invoice from purchase I tried to get the information they wanted but then wanted more and more information the battery clearly states it’s got a 4 year warranty and there is a serial number on the battery that clearly stated Record Number: on customer receipt which should be in there systems showing all the relevant information but guess what they print all these things on there products but don’t actually use them so the poor customer has to suffer and be told there’s nothing I am going to do for you without a receipt I asked for him to contact his manager to escalate it to get a resolution but guess what I was told he won’t pick up today great answer from a professional. I called customer services and they are useless I asked for his name to be told Peter! Would not give me any other information then proceed to hang up on me when I asked for more information from him! Bottom line if the so called store manager actually acted as a manager and not like he was the almighty one that didn’t care about there customers then this review would of been completely different just don’t care about customers anymore. Remember Halfords no customers means no business shake your staff up a bit and educate them about customer service!!

    Justin from the High Wycombe branch was exceptional in resolved an issue for me. My order had been messed up and I was struggling to find any answers. Justin went above and beyond in trying to resolve the issue, even remembering to follow up the issue a few data later. What could have been a really poor experience was handled so well in order to rectify - and the manager at the end was exemplary in proactively offering a good will gesture. Perfect example of how a bad situation can still be turned around.

    AVOID SWINDON BRANCH

    For a start there is no customer service. They say you will hear back within 48 hrs but you won't. It doesnt exist! They damaged my bonnet replacing a headlight bulb. The guy even admitted he did it! A quote from my local body shop repair has said £660 as bonnet and n/s/f wing needs repair and respray. Have followed all correct procedures for them to pay for their incompetance but guess what....Dont even think they look at reviews. The company as a whole should be ashamed of themselves. Not just for me but all the other negative comments. British workmanship fails yet again. Had to give a star but would rather give an award for the worst consumer company.

    Delay in looking at bike despite booking it in.

    My husband had took his e bike in for a health check . He was told that he needed a new chain and a replacement cassette, and possibly another part but that would be confirmed when bike was further examined. So we went a head and booked bike in first slot was about 10 days after initial inspection. My husband works unsocial hours and uses his bike to and from his work. We took bike in on arranged date, we were told that despite booking bike it, they couldn't tell us when it would be looked at. We patiently waited for 4 days and as we hadn't had any communication we headed over to shop to enquire about progress. We were told that they were short staffed and that no-one had even looked at the bike. We had told staff member that this wasn't ideal as we were having to pay for taxis to get to work. The employees reply was that he had to pay for a taxi to get to work!!! At this point we asked if we could take bike home and bring it back when they were able to look at it. We were told that we would have to cancel job and it would be at least another weeks wait. So we decided to leave bike where it was. We had a look at an independant bike repairers, we found one and collected the bike the next day from Halfords, it was a different member of staff this time he said we could postpone the job and wouldn't need to cancel. However, as we had arranged to take the bike to an Independant bike technician we took bike with us. He is inspectated and found both the chain and cassette to be satisfactory, and only replaced the rear brake pad. The job only took 30 mins and was done while we waited!!!

    Rude and unprofessional

    Ordered roof rack on line and also to be installed, went to collect the day before installation and wasn’t in store. Manager at Blackfen store was very rude and told me delivery in 2 days (day after installation) but 50/50 if it was going to come with a blank look and no explanation or apology. Item cancelled. Absolutely unacceptable.
