Frustrating Experience with Modular Tool Order – Still Unresolved After 17 Days
I placed an order on 1st June for several modular tray tools to be collected from Halfords Stockton on 2nd June, with the exception of one item (the Advanced EV 1000V Insulated 6 Piece Screwdriver Set), which was due for collection on 7th June.
Before collection, I received an email stating that the 10 Piece Screwdriver Set had been cancelled. This was puzzling, as it’s a stock item in most stores, and a quick online check confirmed availability. Despite this, I collected the rest of the items on 2nd June. A staff member also found the cancellation strange and advised me to return the next day. I did so and was able to collect the 10 Piece Screwdriver Set that had supposedly been cancelled.
On 7th June, I returned to collect the 6 Piece Screwdriver Set but was told it hadn’t arrived and would be in by Monday. I came back a week later and was told the same thing. On Monday 16th June, I returned once again, only to be told the item still hadn’t arrived.
The next day, Tuesday 17th June, I contacted Halfords Customer Services, who phoned the store and told me the item was now ready to collect. However, when I went in again, this turned out to be false – it still wasn’t available.
Seventeen days after placing the order and ten days past the stated collection date, I’m still without the Advanced EV 1000V Insulated 6 Piece Screwdriver Set. No one at Halfords seems to know what’s going on. I’ve wasted a lot of time chasing this up and found the whole experience extremely frustrating.
