Truly awful, from the website functionality to customer service. My daughters have been saving up their pocket money and bought me two egift vouchers for fathers day. Finding the item i wanted and putting it in the basket, i then went to the pay system. The system initially accepted both vouchers and the pin numbers, but left me nowhere to pay a small balance. The system then crashed. Starting again, I find that the two egift vouchers are now empty but the order was never finished. I then contacted customer service, which by the way is a call centre in South Africa. The agent firstly didnt listen to a word i said, and when I tried to explain it kept talking over me. Eventually I had to rasie my voice slightly to stop her. Then, when she started to type (could hear it in the background) she began to groan like a wounded animal, this happened every three to four seconds and went on for a similar amount of time. In all honesty, it was freaky to say the least. I then requested to speak to somebody else and she flatly refused to tranfer me before hanging up on me. Goint then onto the chat system, I had the same experience and eventualy the chat disconnected. So far, two egift vouchers emptied, two customer service agents next to useless and Im no farther on, what a complete joke this lot are.
I booked free AC check in Halfords yesterday, when I come in today they take me in to the spot with no waiting, 2min later girl from the shop attend to check gas pressure in my car and she said that she dont know how to do it and the BMW's cars is a pain in the back. I waste my time today big time. Lack of professional approach.
Just received a message from you 20 minutes ago asking me to contact customer service service from Ruth. Regarding getting a key for the battery on my mountain bike. Lost the link, but got someone called Imti, who's England leaves a bit to be desired, he was out of his depth. Asked him to get me a manager and he refused. Not impressed. John Broome

Halfords Auto Center ilkeston Booked my car in for a free brake check and the car has the brakes for life guarantee. Told by the gentleman that the brakes for life cannot be transferred to the new owner (myself) and stays with the person who purchased the brakes for life (previous owner). I've owned this car for around 7 years. I have already had the brake pads replaced at the ilkeston autocenter under the brakes for life guarantee but now told its not covered. The gentleman told me to check the terms and conditions which I had already and copy and pasted below from halfords website. What happens if I change my car? I can not place a request a cancellation of membership, even if I accept for for the 1 year membership (and payment for it) to complete. I can not write email to them , everything is over useless chat assistant and unhelpful call centre. So there no trail or trace for you to question. Why I wanted to cancel membership - because soon after I gave my vehicle for annual major service there, fuel efficiency dropped by significantly , they had to refused even to check the car saying they will have nothing to do with it. They also had recorded wrong mileage of the vehicle on the service record. Only time they hear you well is when they are selling something . Not at all surprised to discover low ratings for them on trustpilot
Outstanding customer service this morning from Chris at Halfords Llansamlet, Swansea Store. Took my folding e-bike for a check, Chris was friendly, helpful and efficient and took my bike back to the car and put it in the boot which was much appreciated. In general, the staff are always helpful there but Chris really was outstanding.
My MOT check in Halfords was shocking. The first day they called told me that it failed because rear suspension coils were broken and hand break needs adjusting. I asked them to fix them problem so I can pay. Next day they call me and tell me that I also have to pay extra 30 pounds for replacement of one of the head light bulb which isn't bright enough. I said I can do it myself don't touch it . When I came to the garage I asked the old coils they replaced. As I knew they were rusty a bit but not broken. Because I had them replaced few years ago. They tried to convince me that the small tip of the coil is chipped off, which I think wasn't entirely true. If it ended there but not. when I tried to change the bulb what I saw was shocking they forced out whole bulb holder from the light instead of opening the bulb holder spring and they broke the clip on the bulb lead cover and dropped it under the engine floor to hide it. I asked them to deal with the situation. In order to remove the whole light to fix it they took my bumper out and they fixed the cover with screw. I spent hours theere for their fault. They offered me 10% from the total price in exchange to compensate what happed to my car and me. Some years a go I had a bad experience with Halford. I regret that I came back to them again. Maybe I could have forgotten that experience if it wasn't that missing screw holding the mud guard which they forgot to put back while assembling. I noticed when I came home. WHY HALFORD DAMAGED MY CAR JUST TO GET EXTRA MONEY FROM ME???? I AM SURE I AM NOT ALONE.
Bought 2 bikes for kids. The staff didn't even help my wife in putting the bikes in the car.they expect us to pay 10£. Once got home one of the bikes crank did not have a tread on the pedal... safety checks done they say. Pure incompetence
Avoid buying a Yuasa silver car battery from Halfords. Their "warranty" is a lie. I purchased a Yuasa battery with a "5 year warranty" from Halfords Llanelli exactly 2 years ago. Last week after a 100 mile journey it failed to start my car. Luckily I had jump leads so was able to carry on with my trip. I went to Halfords Llanelly and asked them to test it. They told me that it needed charging, despite my having driven just over 100 miles . They tested the alternator ouput and said that it was normal. However when they tried to access the warranty with they Yuasa diagnostic unit it said Warranty invalid. Yuasa tell me that they only give a 12 month warranty on their batteries, and if a reseller wants to extend that warranty it is between them and the customer. Obviously after 2 years the battery is outside the Yuasa warranty period, so the Diagnostic device will never validate the warranty. So please take my advice, do not purchase a car battery from Halfords, do not believe the label on the "Yuasa silver" batteries which says 5 yesr warranty. It is a blatant lie and will in no way be honoured. Update - I returned the battery yet again and asked them to retest it. They said "It needs charging" I explained that I don't have a charger, the manager said "Then you'd better buy one". I took the battery to a relative and connected it to his charger. After 10 minutes it said Fully charged. But the indicator on the battery still shows that it need charging. Meanwhile I purchased a new battery from GSF in Llanelli. They couldn't have been more polite and helpful.They checked the Halfords battery and said that it's very sick. The new one has cured all of my problems, and Halfords still refuse to honour the warranty.

Definitely would NOT recommend an MOT or service at Charlton garage. I would suggest finding an alternative garage or service provider. After an MOT my car was handed back to me in gear. To which I was not made aware of and started car which jolted forward into barrier. When I asked why it was put in gear, I was told by engineer because car was rolling meaning handbrake was faulty. So how did it pass an MOT? And why was I not informed of car rolling and car in gear? When complained staff were dismissive and complaint department (Devon) failed to investigate this worrying and glaring issue and question.. Was the handbrake faulty? If so how did the car pass MOT? If it wasn’t faulty why was the car left in gear and why was I lied to by staff and supervisor? Was this to cover the fact the damage was done before I arrived? Garage and complaints department failed in customer service, standards, communication and public safety. I don’t recommend this garage.
So I just called your customer service: one of your couriers, on a bicycle, hit my car. Instead of stopping and check the damage, he just took off. Upon calling your customer service, they said they could not help. I am sure, given the time and exact location, you would be able to track him down. But no interest on your part. You just lost a customer.
Went for a MOT at Strood. Tony and the other lad at the front desk was super helpful, professional and friendly. After the MOT Tony explained the results to me which was appreciated as I don't know much about cars. The MOT was free because I'm a premium member. It doesn't get any better than that.
I went into the Swansea branch in Llansamlet last week and spoke to a guy called Chris in the bicycle department as I needed varies bearings for my bike. I couldn't believe how much he help me out as I only turned up with a rusty bag of bits. Super knowledgeable guy and such excellent customer service. Il definitely be back at dome point and I know who to ask. Thanks Chris
Booked my car in for 4 wheel alignment by entering my registration no. Into the online booking system. Booking confirmed and paid for only to receive a phone call 40mins before my appointment saying that they don't provide that service what a hike, sort out your website Halfords and stop waisting folks time.
Ordered a bike wall anchor online. Delivery stated as 2 to 3 days. 5 days later it still isn’t here, no tracking information. A crap company
Bought plenty from halfords over 20+ years. giving them two stars for removing the Sort By button on their website. To keep you on longer than you need to, at any cost. Another technique borrowed from the tech world. Not smart. Not helpful to their esteemed customers.
