Grubby is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and quality, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
Absolutely love the recipes! Makes weekday cooking so much easier. And they feel very healthy

Totally love it, vegan, calories amazing, filling, don't have to go supermarket, no over spending, no waste, blooming wonderful life changer boom!
Ive been with grubby for more than a year now. I can't describe how fantastic the meals are. Quick, easy, tasty, healthy. Excellent customer service. Nothing to complain about. I love little surprises in the boxes! Couldn't recommend more.
Great just to open the bag and start cooking. We have enjoyed all the meals so far, Jack fruit gets a little bit of getting used too. Even my hubby is starting to learn to cook.
Well done Grubby! Makes putting together a meal straightforward and pleasurable - for even the most reluctant chef! Great food quality and their customer service is second to none.
So far one meal cooked within 4 hours of delivery and the veg looked tired with lots of flaws.
As an autistic person with ADHD, I've found the recipe kits I've had so far to be below average to good. Unfortunately, the good recipe kits are the exception, not the norm. Grubby's recipe/method instructions are difficult for me to follow. And the online user journey for cancellations/recipe kit skips is inaccessible. Recipe-specific issues: Sri Lankan butternut and aubergine curry: Not enough time for the vegetables to be cooked. The butternut squash and aubergines were still undercooked even after my extended cooking time. Creamy mushroom lasagne: The recipe does not inform me how large an oven dish I need. I used a cast iron pot, which meant I had to break the lasagne sheets into half. The lasagne also came out too watery despite using less water than what the recipe calls for. Crispy oyster mushrooms and pesto ciabattas: The oyster mushrooms were not crispy. African-style sweet potato peanut stew: part of the ginger was mouldy, the recipe needlessly calls for a large saucepan to cook rice, and the meal was bland. Kit delivery management I find the user journey for cancellations/recipe kit skips to be frustrating and inaccessible. It seems Grubby makes it intentionally difficult to manage and cancel weekly deliveries. I assumed I would opt into the weeks I want kits delivered, but I was surprised to receive an order with automatically-selected meals when I didn't select any. --- While I did raise some of these issues and received a partial refund and £5 account credit, overall, I cannot recommend Grubby based on my experiences.
Sent me the wrong meal!! My wife ordered our meal box for the first time recently and we wanted to start trying to eat a bit less meat. Recipe 92 - Tikka Spiced Bhaji Wrap with mango and coconut yogurt. Not one ingredient in the bag was correct for the menu I was given. I don’t even know how to cook what I was actually sent as it wasn’t a mix up within the same delivery, I do not have a cook guide for this meal. Just a completely random meal in the bag with the recipe 92 sticker on it. Really annoyed at this. Whole meal that I paid for wasted, can’t believe no one quality controlled this on the way out. Had an issue with another meal too which came with a rotten potato and white mold growing on the onion. Update: Customer services contacted us and provided a refund, which is appreciated so I have updated my review rating to reflect they take complaints seriously.
Excellent first couple of weeks with our carefully delivered boxes. We feel more full and healthy, and having all the ingredients for each meal packed in brown paper bags is so convenient. Very little waste re packing and easily recyclable/foldable delivery boxes. We’ve enjoyed every meal, even my omni husband, and only found one or two meals which benefit from a bit if spicing up or occasional portions which come out smaller than others. One curry was huge though and froze well. Would like a little more clarity about what is actually organic in each box eg. Veg but overall v happy! Thank you x
I like that most of the packaging is recyclable. Ingredients are fresh and portions are big. I’m not vegan but I like to get bit of variety to my meals and it’s nice to see what you can do with veggies only :)
Ingredients not in great condition - especially fresh herbs and salad. Look like they’ve been kept too cold
Really delicious 5 star meals and 5 star customer service! Have tried for a few weeks now and am seriously impressed. Love that there is no wastage and everything is delicious and simply to follow along with.
Vegan Thai green curry ,Really poor value for money even at the reduced price in Tesco,of £3:99, down from rrp £9:95! for a tiny can of poor quality coconut milk, a small sachet of paste,an aubergine,1 shallot and a pepper, even cooking the ingredients in sesame oil only slightly lifted the drab flavours, I eventually added better quality coconut milk, paste, home grown spinach and a couple of home grown chilli's which made it slightly better. The only thing about this whole experience is I came away feeling "grubby" as I got the impression I was being rinsed by hipsters with pretend ideals. Would NOT recommend at the knock down price and at full price extortionate! I feel sorry for Vegans who feel they have been rinsed as well. If only I could have given 1/4 of a star.
Bought box in supermarket - luckily it was an intro offer. Full price was over £9:00 - for a shallot, an aubergine, 1 pepper, 1 lime, tiny bag of rice , a small can of coconut milk and a sachet of Thai paste. It doesn’t matter how organic or fresh- that is extortionate. As a side note, if you are promoting vegan recipes, then attention needs to be given to nutritional content. Less than 10g protein for a main meal is not sufficient
We have received our first box and we loved it. So easy to order, and so easy cook and very tasty. We have already ordered and subscribed for our meals each week. Would defiantly Recommend.
I really like the company ethos and their commitment to using organic British produce, as well as helping to feed hungry children. Of course it's slightly more expensive than what I'd have to pay if I were to buy my own groceries, but I think it's worth it because it motivates me to cook (& eat) vegan more often. The app is sometimes glitchy though, and often I cannot view individual recipes without the app crashing. This is more of a problem because it's not clear during the recipe-choosing process what equipment you would need because there is a possibility that the recipe requires a blender but you don't find out until it gets delivered, and you don't own one. Another criticism is that meals only come in two or more portions, which is inconvenient for people who only cook for themselves because it's not easy to store certain types dishes in the fridge for later consumption, especially if you don't have that much space. The website is also designed to look cool with the trade-off of being slightly inconvenient to use and browse.
Legend Status. The meals are JUST so tasty and I always feel SO great after eating them , like it's been a virtuous treat. The veg is so fresh and you can tell its organic - practically bursting with life and flavour. They deliver to me within London with the loveliest couriers on cargo bikes which is a plus, and I just love the playlist that comes with the meals, haha! I am a bit of a bad vegan but these help keep me on track most of the time. The portions are huge, and normally serve me for three meals. When they arrive I triage and eat the meals that seem they'd expire quickest first. Once a pepper had been squashed by a can of black beans , but really that's the risk you take with ordering food via mail order to be honest - perfectly acceptable. All good. Thank youuuuu GRUBBY!
Loved the idea but there was too little shelf life on what was delivered, some items were already well past their best (a squishy cucumber).
These recipes bring joy back to mealtimes in what's become an incredibly busy time! Delicious, nutritious and varied! Grubby's team are incredible and the recipe box is delivered by cargo bike. So so good on all levels :)
Amazing recipes. I’ve tried to go cold turkey before when trying to become a vegan, and I really struggled to get all the nutrients I needed in healthy home cooked meals without cooking the same old boring recipes. But oh my goodness Grubby is amazing! The recipes are delicious, simple and even my carnivorous partner enjoys them! I look forward to my evening meals every week now, and after trying a few other recipe box delivery companies that offer veggie/vegan options for 2 people I have found that Grubby not only offers a great variety (without including mushrooms in every meal which is what tends to happen with veg options, and my partner hates mushrooms!) but they also offer a great sized portion for 2 people that fills you up on wholesome plant based goodness. Will be sticking to Grubby for the foreseeable! - also love the generous freebies, again better than other boxes I’ve tried that just pump the box full of leaflets and a singular wooden spoon even if you stay with them for months! Cannot recommend them enough.
