    Simply an awful company treating…

    Simply an awful company treating customers with arrogance and no kind of client care, rude and dismissive. Sold an A1 AMG that has been in the dealership for repair more than we have had it. Nothing is their fault, everything is about finding work to charge more money and the matter of fact that is is not down to them is frightening.. Do not waste your time and money with this dealership especially Mercedes Cambridge. Cannot express the how bad and unprofessional they are..

    A good experience and a positive outcome.

    We originally had a poor first visit when visiting and I posted a review which to be fair was responded to almost immediately, I am happy to post this updated review to record the positive difference. We arranged to have a Mini from another G1 dealer delivered to the Farnborough site with the view of test driving and buying, the whole experience on this occasion was outstanding. We were looked after by James and nothing was too much trouble, we decided against buying this Mini but arranged with James to have a different version delivered from within the group. We bought this one and James and the team were so helpful as were all the staff members we interacted with. I would recommend G1 Farnborough and I’m sure our initial visit was just a one off, we will be back when our other car is due for renewal soon.

    fast and efficient service

    Catherine was friendly and helpful and informed me of the work and time scale. Car was in for a software update and was completed in the hour as planned. Glad to see there were biscuits this time! Also they sent me a video of the car underneath, tyre treads etc which was very helpful

    Avoid this garage at all costs

    Avoid this garage at all costs. After our car broke down, we arranged with Group One Bromley (via the RAC) to have it towed to their site for a repair slot scheduled a few days later. Although Group One initially agreed to hold the car, the RAC was turned away on arrival and told to bring it back at a later date. Once the car was accepted and inspected, we were quoted £7,500 for repairs—on a five-year-old lease vehicle with just 37,000 miles and a full service history. The diagnosis was a failed differential, allegedly due to a prior oil change done incorrectly a year earlier. However, this work was carried out by a highly experienced mechanic, and both he and other professionals confirmed that if it had genuinely been done wrong, the car would not have driven 7,000 miles without breaking down much sooner. We asked Group One to escalate the issue to VW, given the unusually high cost and the relatively low age and mileage of the car. The service manager, Ian Johnson, initially agreed, but then disappeared—ignoring emails and phone messages over the span of nearly three weeks. When he finally responded, he reiterated the same explanation, blamed the previous garage (despite admitting the timeline didn’t add up), and offered no further support. One day I phoned the garage 18 times before someone picked up the phone. Ultimately, we took the car elsewhere and had the issue resolved for £2,800. The service we received was shockingly poor—zero communication, no accountability, and a pressured attempt to charge significantly more than necessary. Steer clear of this garage. P.S. I also made a formal complaint over a month ago and have yet to receive a response from Group one.....what a surprise.

    MOT and service

    Car went in for MOT and service. Easy key drop process. Called when job was complete. Sent me the vehicle health check video advised there were no issues and sent the link to pay online. Went to collect the car just before they closed and I was met by the customer service representative who went through the service with me and showed me the MOT cert then walked me to my car. This visit was exceptionally easy and smooth.

    Group 1 North London Horrendous

    Extremely disappointing experience with Group 1 Land Rover. Purchased an Approved Used vehicle which was delivered with serious faults (windscreen damage, paint defects, battery issues). I believe the sales person knew of these faults and sold me the car anyway. Despite immediate reporting, the dealership failed to rectify the problems and communication was consistently poor. At times I was being lied to. Unfortunately, Jaguar Land Rover Client Care could only act as mediators in the situation, so it was pointless getting them involved. In the end, they collected the car from me, and took 4 days to refund me, for which I had to constantly chase them for the refund — completely unprofessional and stressful experience. I was worried I wasn’t getting my money back. Subsequently I have reported the entire experience to trading standards. I’ve also noticed that they respond to reviews on here quoting the tellusmore@ email address, but i’ve CC’d them into correspondences before and never heard from them. They are all useless at Group 1. Buy from another dealership!

    Service department does not return calls

    Our car needeed to be looked at for low coolant (under warranty). I had booked a courtesy car, but my wife chose not to take it as she thought the car would only be out for 2 days and VW wanted £15 for it. Turns out the car needs a new heat exchanger, and because it’s electric this means going to another vw service center. All of which is fine. 2 weeks on, when we are thinking maybe we do want to try and get a courtesy car both my wife and I try a few times each to get hold of the service department, We want to know what the ETA is so we can enquire about the courtesy car if it will still be in for a while. Each time we try and get in touch we get told the person looking after our case is out and that they will call us back soon. We never get a call back.

    Shabz provided great customer service…

    Shabz provided great customer service and was very helpful. I called to enquire about a car and within 30 mins he called me back with the deal I was looking for. I had previously enquired at Glasgow Audi (Lookers branch) and they were extremely unhelpful so instead drove from Glasgow to Stockport for the deal Shabz offered.

    Too busy trying to convince me that I…

    Too busy trying to convince me that I needed new brakes rather than looking at the problem under warranty. Went in for a security update, came out with someone trying to sell me brakes three times the price of any other retailer. They need to stop seeing customers as purely income streams and actually provide a good service at low cost to the customer. This will keep customers like me coming back

    Another outstanding experience at Toyota Sandhurst and wanted to share how impressed I was with their customer service. From start to finish, the team went above and beyond to support me. I had an issue with my car battery and needed a repair quickly. Not only did they diagnose the problem straight away, but they also arranged a speedy repair without any fuss. Throughout the whole process, they kept me fully informed, updating me at every stage so I never felt out of the loop.
