The food is good. It's delivered reliably. It's not too hard to cook. The portion sizes are decent. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars because after the initial discount goes away, it's kind of pricey.

Missing ingredients and veggies were not as fresh
I debated whether or not to try one of the many food services and after reading several reviews I chose Green Chef. We are vegans to when I created my profile I assumed our meals would be vegan. No! My first box came and only one of the two meals were vegan. To add to our displeasure, I ordered three meals and only two were delivered! I chalked it up to a $40 lesson or two $20 meals and CANCELLED!
I like the organic aspect. On the plus side, our meals are tasty and easy to prepare. My only concern is that my vegetarian meals are mostly grains (bulgar, coucous, noodles) and starchy vegetables (carrots, potatoes, chickpeas). The combinations are interesting and tasty, but green leafy veg would be great.
The food is probably good based on any other meal kit. Honestly, I would use HelloFresh again since they are just the easiest to use. I see that a lot of companies want to mimic HelloFresh and don’t realize they do a worst job, thus having to catch up, and overcharging. I’m not gonna pay $400 a month for it and I Spend less than that in groceries per month. Also, in order for us to cancel, it’s required for us to put the reason it shouldn’t be required for customers to put the reason why they cancel. They have it like that because they try to keep their customers and they don’t have as many customers as Hello Fresh so they require you to put the reason why you cancel. Maybe if you were more like HelloFresh then you wouldn’t have to require people to give a reason to cancel. When I canceled, they billed me the day after and when I tried to go cancel it on the phone and tell them about this, there was some rude weirdo, that I was trying to understand and he had this attitude and told me that I can hang up and dial again if I can’t understand him. No, it has everything to do with your accent and you not pronunciating your words correctly; like give me a break. have more perks and discounts as well. No one can help that you’re a budding struggling company and you just expect to have as many customers as HelloFresh is not gonna happen.
Arrives cold and always delicious! I try to order Green Chef as often as we can afford. We've never regretted it, and we often don't even choose our recipes, we let Green Chef make the decisions.
I have been receiving my meals from Green Chef for approximately two months. I am on the Mediterranean plan. All the ingredients I have received so far have been fresh and combined make the best meals. I find it fun to follow the recipe cards and love the finished product. I love that the recipes are healthy and seem well thought out. My daughter loves them too, keep up the good work.
We received a refund from Green Chef when our shipment was delayed without us asking for it, which was a nice surprise. Thank you! Our Thai Turkey Larb salad was missing the Thai spices so I'm sure it wasn't as delicious as was intended, but it was still great!
Great way to eat healthy and a way to teach my children how to cook different things.

My last 3 boxes have been delivered soaking wet. This week not only was wet , the box was destroyed , the ice packs were split open, the food was out of the bags and the coolant was all over.
1st shipment was to arrive on a Tuesday, came Friday. I continued to order. The salmon was disgusting…very fishy. The trout, very fishy. Had to throw both fish dishes away. The final decision to cancel was because I missed the edit deadline. The auto picks…”just for you” were ALL chicken! I was ordering a meals a week. They would not allow me to edit and change any if it. Beware! Fish is horrible…customer service..,they don’t care.

I would love if there was a discount for repeat customers. Many people in my life do not benefit from meal kits like these for various reasons. I do always appreciate that your customer service team is available (digitally or life) to provide refunds when necessary for products and such. I also would love if you sold some of your sauces separately at times!
The flavors are great. I would have hoped it included mostly organic and grass fed protein. Quick to prepare and flavorful varieties.
Food is innovative - one star Lots of choice for all dietary types - one star. But.. it’s expensive without the free box / initial sign up discount. The portions are small. Ok for someone watching their weight, but probably not enough for an average man. My first box - meal one. Key ingredient missing. I rang and was given £2 credit off a full box (which is £43.49 for 3 small meals including delivery - I’m unlikely to WANT to purchase a box once the initial discounts expire!) I complained and was given another £5. First box - second meal - 3 ingredients missing. They offered me £2, but again increased it after I complained. My actual page says that my discounts (note the plural word there) are 40% + free shipping - not true- so beware. That was for the first box only. But they charged me an extra £2.99 for premium shipping (apparently I had selected a time window rather than all day). This charge is not clear, not mentioned anywhere, unless you go looking for your bill which is difficult to find. I asked who regulated them. The call handler (based abroad) told me they were not at liberty to discuss that with me. There are so many things amiss with this company. It’s just not value for money or good service. Very disappointing
Delivery is timely. Green Chef makes schedule and menu adjustments smoothly. The food is fresh and relatively easy to prepare and clean up. While I can do with more pre various green vegetables, the meats and sides are very good.
It's a very useful service, especially for disabled people. It would be more so if we could select food allergies that were automatically applied when the weekly meals were chosen for us - so we didn't accidentally wind up with the wrong ingredients in our meals if we are unable to choose them ourselves that week. More alternatives for swapping would be nice; Ie cabbage for kale, quinoa or rice for couscous, etc. I would give a higher ranking if I were able to receive meals any day of the week and not just Wed thru Friday and if the veggies in the meal kits weren't often wilted and bruised. Sometimes they're not even usable.
I like the recipes, and the products have been good. The produce seems to always be fresh. The only concern, or change I would like to see is the portions being bigger. The portions are very small, and many times, I have to make an additional side dish of my own, in order to have a complete dinner. Also, anytime there is sauce involved, it's the same thing. The sauce to top a protein usually only consists of about a tablespoon per dish. Hardly enough. I may need to try other food delivery services for comparison, if Green Chef does not change portion sizes.
