My dad had a knee injury as he fell off a van. General and medical has been by no doubt one of the best healthcare insurance company we have used and we are now considering using it for everyone in the family. Since the first time on the phone, then approving the consultations with the doctor and lastly approving the claim for my dads surgery everything was so smooth and quick. Jose was exceptionally kind and he handled all my dads claim in a great and professional manner. I cant recommend the company and Jose enough and want to thank everyone for helping us all the way.
Found renewal team very helpful and despite claims this year they managed to minimise my policy increase, I found the claims procedure very straightforward and the claims team were always helpful

.It feels as though they purposely make it difficult to make a claim .Once you have made a claim, the time it takes for them to get back to you with an answer can be frustratingly long .If your claim is denied, they will still tie you down to pay the rest of your policy otherwise you cannot cancel the policy - Even though they haven't paid out a penny - To continue the above. They refuse your claim, then force you to keep paying for nothing? - Reply 2/3/22: I was contacted by their customer relationship manager, who I appreciate did his best to try and resolve the issue. We did manage to come to a solution which was good, but I do believe that they should review their policy in regards to cancelling coverage, for the benefit of future customer relations. Many thanks
Can't praise Alex enough. He is such a fantastic role model for excellent customer service, especially when customers are dealing with their own or their loved ones health concerns. Alex was very polite, explained the claims process simply & answered all my questions (and there were alot!) with patience and genuine care. He is such a lovely guy & his reassuring & understanding manner made an otherwise stressful situation, more manageable.
Private medical insurance can be a minefield, there's so much information out there and if you go to a broker they call you constantly and try to push you to one of the biggest providers. On the contrary Michael at General and Medical was calm, polite, very efficient and answered all my queries very quickly and without any sign of pushing or coercion. This is why he got my business. Very happy with the entire procedure.
Very clear information and follow up to switch from another provider. Impressed that person I dealt with, Tom, did not seem like he was talking off a script but was warm and genuine and very efficient.
So far very good - however we are only 2 days into our health policy and so all we can comment on is the initial sign up and documentation which is all very good. The website is super clear and easy to understand. We called to discuss the policy in advance and the responses were very reassuring. It was interesting to learn that G&M provide a lot of private health to elite athletes. Of course we hope never to need to claim, but when we do, that will be the key test.
It was refreshing to speak with Michael Sherman today in arranging private health cover. He was knowledgeable and calm and relayed information professionally and coherently. He had that unusual ability to listen and hear and fully answered my questions. He comes highly recommended.
