Superb support from general and medical Healthcare customer service. I felt very looked after. I have had some recent difficulties which G&M have handled administratively very kindly and sensitively. I am always really pleased with the service received by General and Medical. I've been with them for a few years but recently Michael Sherman from the Sales Team helped to set up a brand new policy for me so that my daughter and husband could join cover. He was thorough throughout the experience and explained everything fully. My previous claims experience has been excellent too and G&M are generally really fair with their pricing. These are the good guys!
Starting to think this is a scam. They're happy to take your premiums straight away, but as soon as you make a claim, they start asking for doctors notes, or more info from referral parties. I've been awaiting treatment for a while which general and medical are apparently chasing information for. I've asked who they've been chasing and how many calls have been made, but I hear thing back. I get passed onto one person then another. Their model seems to be that they want to bore you to death so you dont bother making a claim.
Mark was so helpful. What he couldn't answer there and then he went away and called us back. Very efficient.

I have had a health policy with general and medical healthcare for over 10 years in which time whenever I have had occasion to contact them they have dealt with any issues quickly.I have been very happy with their service and have recommended to friends. Over the years I have done comparisons with other providers at time of renewal- none of them are as competitive on price .
I contacted Mark Pye to discuss my premiums as I was thinking of cancelling my policy. Due to his help and professionalism I was able to keep my policy, which I was pleased about as I have been with them for 7 years. I would definitely recommend General & Medical Healthcare.
Update 28/7/22 : I have been contacted by the company, and they have agreed they would pay for the claim providing my consultant writes a statement to say this was not a previous diagnoses on my records. They also advised if I wish to cancel the policy they would not ask me to pay for the remaining months and would terminate the contract with no additional costs. 10/7/22 I found their policy was a good deal when I looked at online comparison, then i joined them and stayed with them for almost 2 years. After that when I applied for my first claim they happily rejected my claim saying it was pre existing condition, however i never had that diagnosis before and its the first time i am ever having in my life. So, I lost trust in them and i asked for cancellation. Then they asked me to pay 1 years full annual premium if i want to cancel, because i have used their claim in the past (which i never used).
Mark was polite, knowledgeable and very patient with the various quote information requested.

Taking out Private health insurance is daunting as there seems to be so many different options and methods of underwriting. My company cover was coming to an end on retirement so I started investigating on line. I like to get as much comparative information as I can together myself before speaking to brokers and chanced upon the General and Medical website. There was a discount available with a code so I thought I would get a quote to act as a benchmark. It did take some time to understand all the various levels of cover but the underwriting options were beyond me so I called and spoke to an adviser. Tom Dobrowolski, the adviser proved to be extremely helpful without being pushy. He talked me through the underwriting options, went through the medical questions and left me with premium quotes to mull over. Never one to take the first deal on offer, I then spoke to a couple of specialist brokers but they could not get anywhere near the General and Medical premiums with other insurers. I decided to proceed with G&M and the process was very straightforward. A few days after signing up, a new discount code was released and Tom very kindly adjusted my premium to take account of the larger discount. I am very happy with my dealings so far. Of course, I have not made a claim yet so cannot comment on claims experience but hope it will be an equally smooth experience.
Mark, the relationship manager - has been exceptional. He calls when he says he will, takes his time to answer questions, refers to the right people on his team when he's not sure. Very efficient. He reflects the culture of the organisation positively. So far, G and M have been fabulous. They are currently working on improving on additional membership benefits, and again this seems to be the culture within the organisation. Seeking to ensure customers are the focus of what they do. Keep it up guys.
Fantastic Customer Interaction! My husband and I have been looking for comprehensive Health Cover, and after doing some comparisons I called General & Medical Healthcare and spoke to Michael Sherman, who painstakingly took me through the policy cover we were looking at and answered all my questions, very politely and he clearly knew his stuff. I was a bit of a pain as I called and spoke to Michael at least 3 times with so many questions, and each time he calmly gave me the answer, he was very professional and very helpful. When I originally phoned Michael, I quoted a figure that I had been quoted on a comparison site, he replicated the quote and matched it for us. In fact everything Michael told us he was going to do, he did and no hard sell. First class, thank you Michael Sherman, you are a credit to your team! Julie H
I wanted to change my health insurance and had been on hold for up to half an hour with other insurers. G&M answered straight away. Answered my questions- no hard sell and didn’t promise me the world to lure me in.
Excellent Service. I have been with G&M for just under a year and I'm honestly impressed with their professionalism. I had a sudden change of circumstances and they were more than willing to work with me during this time. Their staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. There is no question large or small they always willing to answer. 11/10
