Office help refused to call 911 for injured older person. Cashiers generally rude. Store mngr (boyd?) Too busy to help.aaked for zone mngr name. They refused. Showed mngr name on board, said had to call back to speak with him ( he had already walked away) Avoid forest hill foodlion

This situation I am about to discuss is a well needed topic that should be broadcasted globally! Yesterday I did some grocery shopping for my family. I decided to go to Food Lion #0775. After 5 mins of being in the store a woman approached me and asked if I could help her with her groceries for her baby. I looked at the cart and 1/3 of the cart was filled. It was very well organized and it did not look like it would cost that much for her items. She was dressed elegant. So you could tell she was not homeless. Her presence was very sad; as if she was about to cry. I felt sorry for her and said “yea of course I’ll help your baby out.” I’ve never been approached by anyone in this manner before. So I did not think I was being scammed at the beginning of this situation. I told her I just started shopping so I’ll meet her at the end once I am finished grocery shopping for my family. As I was done shopping at the end she was in the laundry detergent isle. She came out of the isle with a tide pod laundry detergent container. She said if she could get that item as well because her clothes are dirty. I said yea no worries. Then once we get to the register I stood in front and she was behind me with her cart. She continued to thank me and said I was a good man; a lot of times. She then asked lastly what was a visa gift card. She had a hard accent and said she can barely speak English. I told her it’s a card that you can only use if you put money on it. She asked if I could and I said I’m sorry I can’t really afford any more items. She said just like $20? I then said yea that’s cool. Now the cashier began ringing my items up first. Once he was almost finished with my items I left to the bread isle quickly because I forgot an item. I told the cashier that he could ring the woman’s items up that was behind me as well. He asked about the visa gift card and I said to put $20 on it. Once I came back from the bread isle he was finished with ringing up her items. I looked at the total and it was $637.81. When I do grocery shopping I usually spend between $200-$300 a week. When I saw that total I panicked and the woman was just standing there looking sad. I felt bad in the whole situation and I just felt like I needed to help. So I did out of the kindness of my heart. As we were leaving out of Food Lion she asked if she could have the receipt. I said no it’s ok I’ll keep it. She then said I’m just scared because the police think I steal. I told her take my number down and if the police stop you I’ll tell them I have the receipt. She said ok. As I left to walk to my car she says can I at least take a picture of the receipt. I then again said you have my number just call me if the police need any further information. She said ok thank you. I was parked towards the front of food Lion. Once I drove off and looked back in the direction the woman was walking in she vanished. This morning I calculated the total of the receipt to see how much her items were and it came to a total of $428.68. I then notice at the very end of the receipt the Visa card had $100 on it with a $5.95 activation fee. At this point I really feel scammed. Not only did she beg for the receipt but she also put $100 on the gift card after her and I agreed to $20. She must of told the guy at the cash register to change the amount to $100 when I left to the bread isle. Unfortunately nobody wants to assist me with this issue. I have contacted the Food Lion store where the situation occurred, Food Lion Corporation, and my bank at PNC. Everyone has stated that they can not doing anything for me because I purchased the items. I really did not think that the items in her cart would amount to that price. I had the funds for maybe $60 or $70 at most but unfortunately it was significantly greater. Everyone please be careful. I have never experienced a situation like this and I was scammed in person. It does not feel good especially when that money could go towards taking care of my family.

They could hire better employees

There were only 2 cashiers at 6:30 pm and customers about 2 deep in each line. I came to Carlina's line to ask for price check on christmas alearance items and presented VIP tag that she scanned. None of the first 3 items showed clearance. I tried to ask why and she said "I dont know. If you want me to check, I dont know." I told her I would just take the items to customer service and she started getting irate, loudly saying there is no customer service....only thing any of us listening to her could agree with. She was overtalking me, started loudly saying "you people" figured out you have to subtotal or finish to see clearance. I made got louder, scarier, so I got out of line to go to taniyahs line. I asked for a manager and taniyah said well I guess I'm one. She stood there and let Carlina keep yelling at me. Calling me a M---F---, telling customers I was condescending, she's from New York, doesn't have to deal with folks in Wichita who hang folks, you people cant get away with that. I never raised my voice, went to another line to avoid her rants. She left her register, said she was leaving but kept hollering and cursing. I asked taniyah to please call someone, get her out of my face, stop humiliating me...nothing was done.

I have been going to this Food Lion(Hicone Road/Greensboro NC) since it opened 20+years ago. You would think I have learned my lesson by now about the store in general especially their customer service. They were offering a $20 coupon if you spend a certain amount. I had the coupon but forgot to use it when I checked out. I then went to customer service and explained the situation to them. They could of cared less. I was told to use it next time but as I told them, it was only good for 2 weeks and could not be used after today. They informed me they could not give me $20 even though I had already spent $229 today. This is not the first time I have had a problem with them. I could write a book on all the problems I have encountered with them and 80% is wit customer service and 20% is with their cashiers. They need to be taught the level of customer service that Chick Fil A has. I wanted to give 0 stars to this Food Lion location but was required to give at least 1 star.

When i went to the store i bought an apple and some chips and other things.When i went home the apples were rotten but when i was at the cashier the person that worked there checked the foods and now i want my money back!

Why don't you guys sell chocolate covered potato chips, I can't drive, I would expect to see them at Food Lion Burwood shopping center. You barely have anything.

I like shopping at foodlion. They have a large variety of products and fresh veggies and fruit's. The deli is operated very well with a good assortment of me are and cheeses.the only complaint is have with them us their fried chicken. The wing dings are good but the rest of the fried chicken is hard and tuff. When they first started offering fried chicken it was good. Then they either changed the recipe or the supplier. Any way the fried chicken is not worth buying. I say this as once again I wasted my money.

The store in Orangeburg is a mess. Floors always seem to have puddles. Watch out on the meats - they leave lots if fat on the hidden side.

I wouldn't recommend to shop at Food Lion. Customer service so bad . MVP car reward never work and when you call them , they tell you nothing they can do or just hand up on you. I neve back to that store again.

Today, was purely shocked at what happened to an disabled elderly woman. I was going to my car and noticed her sitting alone in a vehicle that was smoking from under the hood. I approached and brought it to her attention. She told me her daughter was inside. So, I turned around and headed back into to the store and met management coming towards me. I told them and his reply was...'We are taking her a chair, but I have to think about liability.' I was shocked at that comment!...As I was driving by her, they took the chair back into the store and left a 70 year old disabled person sitting in in her car...IN THIS TREMENDOUS HEAT.

Hard as hell to navigate your shopping cart around, especially in produce where the tall produce carts were parked in front of the shelves on the main aisle and one couldn’t even get around. I felt that as a customer that I was was in the way of the employees working! This was Food Lion at Bennett Pointe shopping center, Hillsborough Rd in Durham , NC on July 4th 2022.

Food lion is not a bad store. I have shopped with them for years. However, I noticed lately that they will leave food/items out of your order. On five separate occasions now, I have had to go back to the store to retrieve the missing items or get a refund it is a big hassle. I think part of the issue is that they but fridge/freezer/deli items in separate bags from standard items and the checker forgets. I think they should stop that practice as a customer it is not valued added for me. It may help reduce the errors of shorted orders. Additional training wouldn't hurt either. This is happening at the Food lion in Woodruff, SC,

Food Lion are a bunch of thieves!! I sent my son to WM to buy 3 items which would have cost just under $14. For some reason he decided to stop at food lion off of fuselage in baltimore Maryland. Those same 3 items he got at food lion cost us $25 frickin dollars!! Are you frickin kidding me? Seriously!!! I said 2 years ago I would never EVER shop with that nasty sloppy rotten food selling robbing high priced grocery store again and I meant it!! That’s ok! Enjoy that $25 you got from my son tonight because you’ll loose a lot more than that in the long run!! BELIEVE THAT!! 🤬🤬

Not a bad store, but small and seem to NEVER have the BOGO's they advertise. You can go in there two hours after the weekly sales begin and they won't have half of the items in stock, AND, they won't give you a rain check. Rip-off artists in the flesh!

I usually shop at Walmart for my groceries because of their low prices. Let's face it, nobody can beat the prices. But lately, the stores have gotten terrible. Their super low prices which helped me to overlook their dirty stores and rude workers have increased enough for me to go elsewhere. That brings me to Food Lion. The prices are a little bit higher but the stores are clean. The staff is friendly and actually check you out at the register. If the lines get more then a couple of people they open another lane. I never have to wait in line more than a few minutes at a time. They keep their shelves stock and their isles clear. The staff is very knowledgeable and know where everything is. What a pleasure it is to shop at Food Lion. I had been shopping at Walmart for so long I forgot how it feels to be special. Food Lion employees go out of their way to make me feel special. From now on, I won't be going anywhere else.

The Walmart of grocery stores. Rude people. Dirty stores. Decent prices. But parking lots are usually hard to get around. Shopping carts all over the place. Rude people. And an atmosphere of unintelligent emotional people talking about their personal lives in front of paying customers.and using language that is offensive to anyone with children.

I love shopping there prices are ok. But, why do I, always get the rude cashier, who acts like I was the one who, caused them to have a bad day?It can't hurt to say,"Good morning" or "Have a nice day,"can it?You chose that job I didn't. Geez.

"Thanks for the extra savings on the digital app. I really save alot being on a fixed income along with the MVP Savings Card 😌... I shopped this one time and my reward earnings was $20 off my groceries 👏👏... I already saved for the year almost $400 and on top of that the manufacturer coupons w/ it.....
