The finished result is good and we're happy with what we got, converting the conservatory roof to a hybrid one. The four stars review here are for the customer service.
These jobs costs money. EYG are hardly competive in this area! Nevertheless, we consciously chose a local company in support of our area's economy.
Service lacked attention to detail, the kind of touches that are very rare nowadays. Things like: -
- Text message coming through to pay when no certificates, inspections, snag list review, let alone the actual 'sign off' of the project not having taken place.
- EYG calls to enquire about payment. We explained what still remains, only to be challenged with what could have possibly gone wrong, (the arrogance was entertaining). I directed the person to the email I sent. Claims, we received no emails. (The email used was the info@... that was within the contract documentation). We're told this email is not getting checked! Sent email to another address. Only then, everything went well!
- Snag List, (like any respectable contractors go through at the end of a project), i.e. chipping of paint on walls, marks on the walls, issues etc minor things, except to correct yourself!
- Confirm whether the plastered roof will be painted as a basic. It is not! That's on you or someone else to paint it for you. At these prices, surely a generic white emulsion is hardly costly to the whole project.
As said, small touches!
