Emerald is generally OK but our cruise was very much spoilt by a huge drill which they did in Europe to save time when they got over to the other side of the Atlantic for the winter season. It seemed that passengers were a secondary consideration when pretty much everything was shut down for the afternoon - power, food, cabins, the lot. That and a massive itinerary change (I accept that was not their faulty although they told us long after they knew) rather spoilt the cruise.

The staff on board the vessel were excellent and could not have been more hospitable. The tours could have been more variable with more active options being made available.

We were very well looked after from beginning to the end of the trip. The only problem we experienced was at evening dinner. It was aways difficult to find a place to sit at dinner as there was only 1 sitting and every one rushed in at once

Throughout the year trip I felt living at home, very comfortable.

Excellent food, tours, tour guides. Cruise director was one of the most knowledgeable we have come across. Entertainment Director worked hard, had a great personality and put on good quizzes.

The crew definitely enhanced my experience on this cruise. The ports were truly amazing as well as the itinerary. My cabin was well appointed and spacious enough. The only negative was that there was no longer backpacks given.

Our expectations were quite high but they were exceeded. The whole cruise was a great experience, with great cabin, food, staff and organisation.

Once again an amazing cruise with fabulous staff. Food was excellent and the standard of service was too. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone considering a River cruise.

Great ships, staff and included excursions

Fabulous river cruise on the Danube, won't hesitate to book with Emerald again.

Some nice people. Enjoyed most things but felt dinner seating should be allocated ans some people were rude if one sat on a table they felt was theirs. Entertainment and trips were very good

This was a great cruise. In spite of having some changes forced in the itinerary because of river condition, these were absorbed seemlessly with the alternative arrangements made. Food and drinks were excellent.

High standards, lovely food, hard working crew, great itineraries. Emerald are our favourite river cruise line.

Very good cruise

I was very dissatisfied with the customer service following my Cruise. I mistakenly left an item of clothing in my cabin on disembarkation and I emailed on 3 separate occasions in the following days. I didn’t receive any response, following the initial acknowledgement, unless I asked for an update. Eventually, after chasing it again I was told that nothing had been found, which raises questions on several levels. Unacceptable.

Great staff to passenger ratio; helpful staff, good food and wine. Useful port talks. Very practical cabin.

Comfort, kindness and courtesy

Having used a few river cruise lines Emerald is most definitely our favourite. The ship, staff and facilities rival the very best on offer. Our main reason for choosing Emerald is the set up in the Restaurant. We like having the option to sit at a table for two at some meals especially breakfast.

Great food and well organised cruise. Included trips were interesting and sufficient time included in itinerary to visit towns independently.
