Although at first the price appeared high it’s not when you consider what is actually included: Breakfast Lunch Dinner Bar Snacks each evening Beer and Wine at Lunch and Dinner Tea/Coffee/Hot Chocolate, Cookies 24/7 Popcorn on movie nights. Tours with excellent tour guides. Local entertainment on board ship Professional, friendly, hardworking staff. We did the Danube from Budapest to Passau then a coach to Prague for 4 Days. Our trip included stops of some beautiful places with ample time to explore. Emerald is our “go to” river cruise company which I strongly recommend to others to give them a try.

Our Duoro river cruise was excellent. All the staff were friendly, efficient and our every need was catered for. The bar staff were great fun. The cabin was comfortable and always kept clean and tidy. We were also impressed that a lot of the staff came from Porto. A beautiful experience. Thank you

The cruise from starts to finish was memorable for all the right reasons. Staff, the ship, food, accomadation all wonderful. Each day different with multi choices… relax in board, sightsee yourself, sightsee with a guided tour or be adventurous and do an active activity. Something for everyone.

We thought the ship Emerald Sky was very well appointed and comfortable. We liked being able to choose where to sit at meal times. This made it easy to meet an get to know other passengers. We liked the fact that the passengers were so international. The food was excellent. The crew were superb. The included tours were just right, being just half days. On one of these, however, we thought there should have been a rest period half way through, not at the end of two,hours.

The food,staff and stateroom were lovely. Our big complaint is that we were so looking forward to seeing Budapest on 26th April 2025. We arrived in time for a lovely lunch and then went to catch transport into Budapest to be told the whole of the centre was closed due a bicycle race. Our obvious disappointment was clear to all the staff. Surely this would have been known beforehand and maybe other arrangements made. Please give your comments. Jan and Kevin Elders

The boat and the staff were very good. The silly idea of not providing paper maps was a defect. Very little help if you do not fit in with organised trips that set off early. They seem to get the second best berths for the boats after Viking.

Superb choice of hotels, excellent boat, awesome staff, knowledgeable guides, particularly in Vietnam who was outstanding. An almost perfect experience from day one.

Fabulous 7 day cruise along the Douro river. Comfortable boat, cabin. Staff great, food amazingly, scenery stunning.

The organisation of everything was

Emerald gave excellent service from booking till the end of the cruise. We had a slightly complex arrangement as we wanted to make our own way to and from the cruise but they sorted out the discounts and quoted a good price for us. We were welcomed on board and from that point the experience was great. The included tours were e good quality and with very knowledgeable local guides. Food and drink on board was very good and a special mention needs to be made of the dining and bar staff for their friendly, helpful and professional approach. Overall an excellent cruise with a great company.

Everything was first class . All tours were excellent and so well organised . Will definitely be booking another River cruise with Emerald .

The Emerald river cruise ships are, as far as my wife and I are concerned, in a class of their own. Notably the swimming pool is to us a much revered and used asset. The atmosphere on board is precisely the way we like it and the uncluttered and well illuminated interior is first class.
