Although you get a fairly good deal from their website... when something goes wrong i.e.. flight delay , baggage delay , forget the hour or 2 hour time difference for collecting the car . it turns out they have you over a barrel . they pawn you off to the supplier who in fairness really want to help (if they're reputable and depends on who you hire off ) but cant because you booked through a 3rd party . I will always go to main supplier from now on as they don't seem to have a problem when it comes to refunding you . But car Argus refuse point blank to give a refund EVEN IF YOUR FLIGHT IS DELAYED as its down as a no show ???that's how simple it is for them even though they will get a FULL refund OF YOUR MONEY from the main supplier ? So basically i rented from Argus hire was late to collect the car , it was in process of been cancelled by supplier , asked for another car or refund and they said I need to talk to Argus as that's who I booked it through , rang Argus and they basically said sorry no car , no refund go and read the terms and conditions you are not entitled to one . stranded in airport 2 hours from your destination at 11pm at night with 3 kids and an angry wife is not a good experience , plus been down 600 euro and paying a taxi 200 euro as no car hire kiosk had cars left (apparently) at that time of night . In all STAY AWAY FROM ARGUS GO DIRECTLY TO CAR HIRE COMPANY you have better chance of getting anything back if something goes wrong

Wir haben über Check24 bei OtoQ über Argus hire einen Mietwagen für Oktober 2024 gebucht. Allerdings haben wir keine Buchungsbestätigung, sondern eine Info erhalten, dass der angefragte Mietwagen leider nicht verfügbar sei. Ohne eine bestehende Buchung wurde trotzdem ein Anzahlungsbetrag in Höhe von 66,12 über die Kreditkarte eingezogen. Jetzt sind bereits 4 Tage vergangen und der Betrag ist immer noch nicht gutgeschrieben worden. Update: 15.07.24 Der Betrag ist immer noch nicht gutgeschrieben. Leider kann ich hier keine Minussterne vergeben.

Ich habe ein Fahrzeug bei Avis in Phoenix Sky Habor gemietet. Diese haben eine falsche Abschlussrechnung gemacht. Wie bei jedem der bei Sky Habor mietet. Für diesen Standort scheint Betrug zum Tagesgeschäft zu gehören. Eine Reklamation bei Argus war unmöglich. Die verlangten Dokumente die man nicht liefern kann und die völlig irrelevant für die Reklamation war. Es fehlte nur noch die Nachfrage nach einer Stuhlprobe vom Abgabetag.

Now i went today to my lawyer and we have to go to the European Court because they try to trick me. Emery second person was crying at this car rental station ! Scammers I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment with Klass Wagen Faro booking from Argus car hire. Totally scammed with the credit card policy and charging extra amount of insurance just to get the car. During my recent visit to Olhao in Portugal for a long weekend, I was informed that my credit card, which has an abbreviation in the name, was not acceptable for deposit and made me charge extra insurance that I have already paid on my booking. After all the process of the booking made online while waiting outside for hours to be served, as soon as I have been served at the desk, the employee stated that my credit card with abbreviation was not acceptable for the deposit. All documentation was approved with my driving license, proof of payment and my passport. It does not make any sense that as soon everything was checked the employer did not accept my insurance that I payed on the website selecting the fully coverage insurance. Arguing that my existing insurance would not prevent me from having to pay huge co-payments in the case of even the most minor damages, such as a tiny mark from a pebble kicked up from the road and mentioning that the insurance selected will not cover everything that it was stated in the website which they made me buy a new complete insurance policy on top of what I have paid on the website. The solution proposed was to pay an extra 160€ and I will be good to go with the car. There was no need of deposit and damages will be all covered if paying 160€ extra for 3 days. And the most frustrating was that I have paid that amount with my actual credit card that the employee did not accept in the beginning. The company just wanted extra money! I could not refuse or given another option as it was 11pm in the night, coming from a long flight, and have no other method of transportation to go to the hotel with my family of two small children and wife. The waiting was very long, no caring for the customers and no transparency to the customers. They just wanted to fool us. I hope this complain will make a difference for future customers as this play will not do any good. To all customers renting a car make sure to read their policies and make sure you do some research of reviews from previous customers.
Car was in excellent condition with the best fuel policy (full to full). Quick and easy drop off in a different location to pick up. Even got transport from the drop off point to the airport despite only being 500m away (it was 33 degrees so very appreciated)
This was the worst experience I could have had hiring a car. The whole trip has been ruined because of Argus. I booked a car in Lancaster but the place wouldn’t let me pick the car up without a credit card (or paying 3x what I had originally spent for a damage waiver). So I spent a day communicating with Argus via their very slow WhatsApp. Whatever I did was going to cost a lot more and there were no good options: either an extortionate £55 late change fee plus a car that cost way more than it did when I searched online, or a £106 cancellation fee. This was all despite the fact that it was only 12 hours since I’d made the booking. When I finally rebooked with the late change fee, the rental company was actually an hour away from where I’d asked them to look. Overall I’ve now paid £166 to not hire a car. I hate that people who can least afford it are the worst protected from skyrocketing fees should you make one tiny error. Inflexible, awful experience with Argus that I never wish to repeat and has left me crying with sheer frustration.
We are having problems with my car rental company charging us for damage that didn't occur and Argus Car Hire have been unbelievably UNHELPFUL. "As we are an introductory service, we are unable to investigate damage charges with our car rental partners directly. This is because we are not present at the location and do not have any knowledge of the specific vehicle you received."
I booked car hire in kefalonia with Argus The company they put us in contact with overcharged us on the credit card. They shouldn’t have charged us in the first place. I was told by Argus it was nothing to do with them and they gave me a phone number that didn’t work and refused to give me an an email address for either the hire company in Kefalonia or themselves. I would avoid this company at all costs. Update : In response to the reply below. I requested to make a complaint at the time. I have since contacted the supplier who took the holding deposit from our credit card instead of just holding it. Therefore when they refunded it the exchange rate had changed and my credit card company charged a foreign currency fee. As far as I am aware every time we have ever hired a car before the credit card holding fee was held and not actually taken!
Rented through Wiber at Malaga Airport. Car was as booked. Clean and in good condition. Pick up was easy and no hard sells. They were very transparent with the agreement and conditions. Very polite.

A fine giugno l'agenzia ha chiuso alle 23 come da orario d'ufficio, non vengono loro pagati gli straordinari e non attendono neppure 10 minuti mi risponde la segretaria che informo telefonicamente e nessun rimborso del noleggio non certo economIco prenotato con Argus car hire! dalla Surprice agenzia locale mi dicono di chiamare Argus car Hire per una riprenotazione con altra compagnia che chiude piu' tadi. Dal supporto clienti un'operatrice completamente disorientata: Miral mi tiene in linea 2 ore continuando a ripetermi che lo creenshoot del timetabletable dell'aeroporto di Bologna non e' prova sufficiente per dimostrrae il ritardo come non lo e' la foto del display dell'aeroporto ce indica oltre 2 ore di ritardo. Persa auto e soldi della prenotazione anche ad un contatto nei giorni successivi: dovevo disdire l'auto 48 ora prima del ritiro... come se avessi saputo del ritardo... EVITATE EVIATE EVITATE
Our flight was delayed and whilst customer service tried to help, all the numbers they gave me for Auto Via didn't work. I tried to get them to contact Auto Via themselves but was unsuccessful. As a result, we landed at Venice Airport to discover they had closed and gone home, leaving us stranded at 1am with my 65yr old mum. Luckily, Italy Car Rent was the ONLY car hire still open and saved us from having to sleep rough and miss our appointment the next day. No word from Argus on a refund of unused car hire, typical take your money and go company. Book elsewhere.
