Der Buchungsprozess schien zunächst unkompliziert und die Preise wirkten auf den ersten Blick sehr attraktiv. Doch der Schein trügt. Während der Buchung fiel mir ein kleiner Hinweis am unteren Rand der Seite auf, den ich zunächst übersehen hatte. Erst bei genauerem Hinsehen stellte ich fest, dass dort Bearbeitungsgebühren von 175 Euro erwähnt wurden. Diese Gebühren wurden nicht klar und transparent während der Buchung kommuniziert, sondern waren versteckt in den Fußnoten vermerkt, wo sie leicht übersehen werden konnten. Nach meiner Erfahrung kann ich nur dringend davon abraten, bei Carhire ein Auto zu mieten. Die versteckten Kosten sind inakzeptabel und führen zu erheblichen Mehrkosten, die man nicht eingeplant hat. Ein transparentes und kundenfreundliches Unternehmen sollte solche Gebühren klar und deutlich vor Abschluss der Buchung anzeigen.

I booked a car from SIXT car rental through Argus Car Hire for 10 days hire in Italy. We were due to pick up the car at 23.00 hrs, at the SIXT pick up point in Milan Bergamo. We got to the SIXT office at 22.50 only to find the office closed up. We went with our bags to their pick up point, thinking that this would be open, but this too was shut. We had to get a Taxi to take us on a 90 minute journey to the location we were staying at a cost of €290. I contacted the SIXT office the following day and the attendant informed me that the office was closed since 22.00 hrs- (an hour before we were due to pick up the car) he was most helpful and suggested the best course of action was for him to send an email with my details to Argus- requesting a full refund as the car had not been picked. He subsequently sent the email, eventually Argus replied seeking @.) the flight details (which I provided) and a receipt/documents proving that the office was shut!!!!! (There was no where or no one that I could get documents or receipts from as the office was shut- this was confirmed by the SIXT representative LUCA- One month on and Argus have still not refunded the money- I could not recommend Argus and can only advise to avoid intermediary agents and instead opt for booking through the main rental companies.

Fahrzeugabholung war bis auf Sprachbarriere und eine nicht funktionierende Schranke bei der Ausfahrt sehr schnell und einfach. Die Fahrzeugrückgabe erfolgte sehr schnell durch einen Mitarbeiter mit sehr guten Deutschkenntnissen. Sehr schnelle Kautionsfreigabe einen Tag nach Rückgabe des PKW. PKW war in gutem Zustand, wenn auch ein Golf statt eines Fiat 500 - bis aufs Parken auf Mallorca war das größere Auto aber wieder erwarten kein wirkliches Problem.

Upplevelsen var bra generellt. Men vi ville ha en bil med 7 platser. Vilket vi fick. Men de två platserna där bak gick inte att fästa. Det gick att fälla upp dom men de fästes inte i golvet. Så vid varje broms så flög dom upp. Vilket var en besvikelse. Min bror hyrde en likande bil och den fungerade bra. Så det var bara min bil. Men annars är bilen prisvärd och bra om den fungerar som den ska.

Argus arranged for a car hire through Noleggiare at Venice airport for me. In the middle of the Dolomites we discovered that the car had no oil. We were forced to fill it up (costing 78 Euros). We asked for reimbursement from Noleggiare and received no response. Went back to Argus as the broker who also declined to help. What exactly is their purpose as the middle man?
I have used my fair share of car rental companies in the past so I am quite familiar with the process. This company however were appalling. I should point out that this was in Alicante. First off they will make you pay 40 euro to enter a fast track queue system, As I thought this was a way to squeeze an unnecessary bill out of people I didn’t do it, 1.5hrs later and I regretted my decision as not one none FastTrack customer had been called. So, after that wait I paid the money and entered the FT queue which took about another 2 hours. When I was being served a woman came to complain that she had waited over 3 hours to be called and that she still had not, the sales staff told her to buy the FT and she would be seen quicker, it was appalling she had 3 kids and one was a very young baby, I offered her to go in front of me and they said that she had to wait or buy the FT ticket. Bear in mind when everyone pays for a FT it then just becomes a normal queue, that costs 40 euro to in. Secondly, I booked full car insurance through the website when I booked the car, I took a premium of about £100 knowing that the salespeople would try and sell me insurance, however the salesman explained how the insurance I bought wouldn't cover me and I had to fork out an additional 440 euro. Now I had the option of not paying this but to not pay it means you must leave £2000 payment on your credit card, that they release when the car is brought back (undamaged) – so if you don’t have £2000 excess then you have to pay the 440 euro (insurance or not). Thirdly, and this really takes the biscuit, the salesman skipped though all the terms and conditions to get me to sign the paperwork on the digital form, when I said I hadn't seen the car he was telling me to sign off on (bear in mind it said the car had no faults) he said if there was any faults I should take pictures and they can check the date and time of the pictures to prove it was there before I got it. I was not allowed to see the car before signing or read any of the terms and conditions, when I complained about this he said it would be emailed to me (but only after I signed) . In no way should this be my responsibility and I should not have had to do that. When I got to the car the front end had been hit bad and it was not mentioned on the paperwork, the car was down as perfect condition. Paying this additional 440 euro ruined my holiday as we went with a tight budget, dealing with your company - or sorry, the member of staff completely ruined the first few days of my trip as I came away feeling so angry and cross, I took over 30 pictures of the car as I was afraid i would be blamed for something - the process from start to finish is so wrong and I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone, I would sooner walk than use them again.
We where quick to get to the rental office and we're given our car very quickly, documentation always takes a while. A little pressure to take Excess insurance cover which was a ridiculous amount but declined as purchased extra online already. Overall very efficient and friendly staff.
New and super clean car. Just a bit of queue at the desk, but then everything was super easy. Nice booking price. I'll book again.
