Amber electric have upped my usage charge by 3 times my original costing. Doubling my previous bill. I work full time hardly home with 2 people in the house. When asked why it is so high. They said I used more that month. Not double the amount. I will not use them again it recommend them.

The best electricity retailer I have had for 20 years

This is a great company if you use lots of electricity. They give you warnings when the price is expensive so you can cut back your usage.The rest of the day your power is less then half the price of other power companies.As they price power on how much the are charged,not what they can get away with like other companies.They also send you details in the beginning of each season on their maximum charge related to peak pricing.They also have an app that shows how much power you are using at anytime and how much solar is going back into the grid. When you have any questions they get back to you quickly. Amber is the best electricity supplier I have had in the last 20 years.

Outstanding product

Outstanding product. We get our electricity at cheaper price and best of all get great export prices. Customer service has been amazing, explaining each questions answer clearly with the assistance to talk us through what we needed to do. Well done guys

A breath of fresh air

A breath of fresh air, with a company that is allowing solar and battery installers to be rewarded for their investment. Other companies, have reduced solar input to 3 cents per kw, an insult. Looking forward to a mutually rewarding experience, where we are rewarded for our investment.

This is for real

This is for real! The app is great. I love that I can see current prices and use power for more expensive running costs at best times. Also I can see my usage and costs on a daily basis. Supply charge is $10 month. This is fantastic. Also because I can check current costs i am more aware of my power use habits. Totally recommend this. I have four solar panels as well but was still paying high price to standard retailers.

Price Spikes ruin the whole concept!

Price Spikes ruin the whole concept! You save a few cents in general by buying wholesale, but when a price spike occurs (Eg. very hot day) it completely wipes out any savings you make because the price spike cost is ridiculously high (over $10/kWh...yes over $10, that’s not a typo!) and this can happen multiple times on a hot week in Sydney as just happened this Nov 2020. You’re suggested to turn off all air conditioning and high power appliances during a price spike. What’s the point of my air conditioner if I can’t even use it when I need it most? I’m switching back to a flat rate of under 20c/kWh with a different provider so I don’t need to worry about these ridiculously high price spikes. This might suit some people but not for me. To be fair, they do offer a refund if you end up paying over the default market offer (price) during the course of the year...but seriously I’m not waiting one year. There needs to be a better protection mechanism for price spikes. I thought prices may double or triple but not go from 20c to over $10 kWh...really?

Awesome service, low bills, great App

We have been with Amber for 4 months, best electricity company I have ever had! Our last quarterly bill was around 30% cheaper than Origin. The App is great and I am loving the recent updates. Keep up the good work!

Great Experience

The Amber app to monitor prices is extremely user-friendly. Saved heaps of money on my first bill. My original motivation for making the switch was purely to reduce my electricity bill and save money by using the wholesale market. After seeing just how easy it is and how much I saved on the default Carbon Neutral plan I am looking to make the switch to the 100% GreenPower plan (which costs a little extra). Despite the additional cost of the 100% GreenPower plan I would still be saving a lot of money compared with my previous provider. Amber is fantastic if you are looking to save money or help save the planet, or both!

We've been with Amber for a few months…

We've been with Amber for a few months now and not only are our bills about 30-40% cheaper then other providers, their app allows you to see when power is going to be super cheap or slightly increased. This allows you to plan when to turn on appliances like the dishwasher etc and helps you save on your monthly bill. Honestly - why haven't you already connected to them?

Amber my experience.

Amber give you control and you can monitor the price for power and use it when it is lower. They also offset and are Australian owned and they are cheaper.

I’ve been with Amber for 2 months

Amazing

Amazing, so much better than the dodgy energy companies, I have my fingers crossed that they will release an alert system for price spikes but I have definitely saved money with these guys so far

Save money and save the planet

I've been using Amber Electric for a couple of months now. I joined in the middle of Winter and saved $70 in the first month. I was amazed last week with the return of the sun and wind to Melbourne the price per Kwh dropped down as low as 0.01c. Amber incentivises people to shift consumption to when renewable energy is plentiful. This saves me money and will help reduce green house gasses.
