The best electricity retailer I have had for 20 years
This is a great company if you use lots of electricity.
They give you warnings when the price is expensive so you can cut back your usage.The rest of the day your power is less then half the price of other power companies.As they price power on how much the are charged,not what they can get away with like other companies.They also send you details in the beginning of each season on their maximum charge related to peak pricing.They also have an app that shows how much power you are using at anytime and how much solar is going back into the grid.
When you have any questions they get back to you quickly.
Amber is the best electricity supplier I have had in the last 20 years.
Outstanding product. We get our electricity at cheaper price and best of all get great export prices. Customer service has been amazing, explaining each questions answer clearly with the assistance to talk us through what we needed to do. Well done guys
A breath of fresh air, with a company that is allowing solar and battery installers to be rewarded for their investment. Other companies, have reduced solar input to 3 cents per kw, an insult. Looking forward to a mutually rewarding experience, where we are rewarded for our investment.
Amazing savings from getting wholesale rates on energy and supply charges. And one added bonus is the kids are now more conscious about their energy usage, questioning whether they need to use power at times of high demand and finding ways to share facilities to reduce usage even further.
Love your app, haven’t had to contact you about anything, this is a great sign that you get business done properly.

I have been with Amber for about 8 months now and over summer the prices were just fantastic. During May the prices were high but there was a credit due to the unusually high prices, making the cost more palatable. Now again in June, prices are high and today so far, high all day. So off with the heating and on with the extra clothing!!!
Will have to see how it pans out over the year, compared to previous retailer bills.
1/7/21 I have now compared my costs to last year with a different retailer and I am still way in front each month. Learning to be less stressed about predictions and making it work for me :)
Amber are great. Note that the recent price spikes can be a bit nerve wracking and it's probably a good idea to ensure your whole house is onboard with the idea of time shifting usage (most of mine aren't). But, if you've got solar and a battery and the ability to time shift automatically, then it's definitely a no brainer.
Even without time shifting, it looks like we're going to save considerably on our electricity over a 12 month period. Amber's "price hedging" just kicked in and gave us credit to compensate for the excessive price spikes.
Great idea, but doesn't work for me. All was good at first, but then I got solar and Amber was no longer competitive. I compared the costs from a range of providers using actual monthly usage and I would be better off switching back to AGL. At least my monthly usage would have been around $51, compared to a $92 bill from Amber.
Then came an unusual high month in May and I'm looking at a $300 monthly bill (although they're claiming they will credit something off my account. I wanted to support the little guys, but I can't when my bills are double to what I could be paying with another provider.
