The interpreter did a great job. The only issue I had was that I was waiting on the interpreter to call me. I didn’t know I had to call. Other than that, all was professional.
DO NOT USE!!!! This organization will try and charge you fees even if they do not provide services. There staff is not skilled in formal translation environments, especially when dealing with technical or business related fields. Interpreters are not provided in advance to review or validate their skill sets. Happy to provide communication and evidence related to these discussion for users. Save your money and find a repeatable organization.
My student, a 9th grader, was nervous at the beginning of the listening/speaking live test for Greek. He said that the evaluator was very nice and right away he felt comfortable and was able to perform well.
I began testing our staff, and they felt the tests were hard and above their normal level of speaking, but they both did great.
Alta has great customer support. Our account rep helped us to set up the appropriate testing for our organization. They are always very responsive if I ask any questions.
Quick replies, all questions answered timely and overall, very easy to work with.

I recently administered a language assessment through ALTA for the Seal of Biliteracy. The process was smooth and an ALTA representative was quick to answer questions I had while preparing. What I appreciated most was the prompt return of scores. The efficiency with which they processed and delivered results was remarkable.
The staff who have taken tests with ALTA raved about the level of service provided to them.
I am taking the self paced 40 hour interpreter training. Alta claims: "Launch your new career with our interactive 40-hour medical interpreter training! Earn a Certificate of Qualification to help you find work right away, plus meet the requirements to take your national certification exams. Our video-based lessons teach you all that you need to know in a fun, interactive environment. No medical background is required. It’s all online, so you can learn at your own pace and on your own schedule." This to me sounds like this course will prepare me for entry work and/or for National certification. This is so far from the truth. I didn't realize and had no way of knowing before I paid the $650. that I also need to learn note taking for consecutive interpreters in order to have a shot at passing Alta's oral exam, let alone the National certification exam. As anyone that is familiar with note taking knows, it very difficult and takes much time (I mean like 6 months or more) to learn just enough skills and get enough practice to just bearly get you by. So Alta forgets to mention this tiny detail-- that you need note taking experience before you can do any of it. Also, they don't tell you that you have one shot at passing the oral exam. If you fail, you have to wait 3 months before you can retake it and you are charged to retake it. I think Alta over promises and definitely under delivers with this "course." It's not what it promises. I feel cheated and dissatisfied. I can go on about the actual "training," but I won't waste my time or bother to get myself all worked up about it. I will just deal with the fact that I made a mistake when choosing Alta for my needs. A mistake that cost me $650.
The Vietnamese interpreter was an important part to our deposition of our client. It was not easy to find someone who spoke Vietnamese. Luckily Alta came through and provided our firm with the assistance we needed. Thank you Alta!!
Alta answers correspondence in a timely fashion and accommodated all of our requests. We had a dispute with the billing and it was taken care of exactly as we asked; immediately. The interpreter provided was friendly and skilled. Our only complaint was that our interpreter was delayed (beyond her control), and we intended to meet in advance. I would suggest that if it is necessary to talk to the interpreter before the meeting, to not schedule it immediately before the meeting.
Alta provides excellent customer service. When we have an issue or concern, it is rectified immediately. There have been a few times where we don't get the service we want when requesting translating service, however, when we share our concern it is taken care of immediately.
The staff was extremely helpful, accommodating, and kept me apprised of all the updates. As a lawyer, however, I contacted ALTA at the direction of the State Bar of Georgia. I really needed a translation which could be used in Court. Unfortunately, the company cannot testify in court regarding the veracity of the translation. ALTA should consider expanding its services to address this need in the marketplace.
