So basically I signed up for an electric course back in September 2024 they had pitched on the phone saying that they would save a place and offer a good discount as I “was saved a spot” and once I started I must say contact and support hasn’t really been it unless it’s to do with payments then they’re on it straight away as I missed one month and they were onto me instantly calling me and emailing and charged a late fee of about £40 and my first exam I took after I had failed it was when they decided to then send some links for help after I paid £50 to resit and then after I got my CSCS card I was told for 4 months to simply wait and they’ll help me look for a job so from December up until halfway through March this year I was practically told to do nothing so I was paying £200 a month to do absolutely nothing and they couldn’t find me a job although they said they have good links in the construction industry yet they couldn’t find me a job and seeing many reviews venting frustrations and anger like I am doing now as a lot of them were around the same time I had started simply makes me feel like I’ve been ripped off and also after saying that it was my fault as to why nothing happened because I had accepted the induction back when I got my login in September and although they can see everything on the portal they still couldn’t tell me the correct things also had to purchase books after being told many things come included. Also my brother had signed up for a plumbing course and when he had found something better and he decided to cancel his course bare in mind it was 3 days after signing up they had blocked his number and since may/June they been quite literally holding off of giving his refund which is making me very wary of what on earth could happen to me considering when I had inquired about cancelling my course they told me I had to pay over £2500 as a fee as it would cause them a loss if I had cancelled which is outrageous but then again they do have a few good members of staff but after what’s happened to my brother I don’t know anymore and also I have my exams next week and I just say the webinar were extremely lethargic and not fun and just improvement’s are needed. Also spending so much on this I don’t know if a refund is even possible as again I’m going through hardships at this point in my life but I am not happy with access training as of right now. Thai review isn’t for the sake of it it’s just how I’m feeling and needed to get this off my chest and I guess I’ll see how access responds or acts after seeing this?
So far great and staff were really helpful in answering any questions.
I enrolled on a 10 week level 2 plastering course and the British gypsum ste redy coursein the cardiff branch, although I had previous experience in plastering my tutor carl thomas was top class. Helping iron out and bad habits I had plastering and helping with technique and tips. Thought the course carl encouraged and supported myself teaching me all I needed to know for knowledge texts and the 202 test. Meeting peter from British gypsum and speaking to him about difrent products and getting knowledge on british gypsum in general. I managed to finish my course a week early, for the last week with the help from carl and ash (carpentry tutor) I build a media wall. Ash was awesome and helped me with the frame work, carl then helped me plaster giving tips on the hard to get fiddly bits. Hats off the the construction boys in unit 2, thank you carl and ash for all your help 👍
I did the plumbing course with access and it was excellent support from start to finish. The same could be said for all tuition on the gas safe course from online to in centre. Unfortunately after you’ve paid to get the gas safe jobs u need to complete the course after u leave the centre this is where the gas safe course completely breaks down. Firstly I have had 1 job of 12 in 9 months. Too many students fighting over too few jobs means it’s just not happening. Then if u do get one job it takes 2 months to assess ur submission with absolutely no guidance and no tutor to confirm with u are expected to answer up to 20 generic questions Ona na installation that happened months ago with no advice what so ever and no response again for months means u just do t have the confidence what ur submitting is what they’re looking for. I have tried in vain for months to contact the powers that be at head office but there no answer at all so I can only resort to this now. Even for the students that found their own work to complete portfolios it took way too long to get marked and again they stated no real guidance. This system simply doesn’t work and I am Now looking for a refund and go to a college with the guidance and support I need to complete my portfolio. Another colleague has a college that had completely laid on jobs and step by step guidance as to gain confidence in what’s needed to be assessed. Access just leave u high and dry feeling frustrated and confused. If this system changes I’ll change my review but u til then it’s letting down the good tutors who did so much to teach us so well only to fall at the last hurdle.
Great time learning plumbing with access training, would definitely recommend to those interested in learning a trade from scratch. Callum was my practical trainer and was very helpful when it can to teaching and being patient with everyone, just overall a great experience so far.
What a wonderful experience, tutor was exceptionally patient, clear and concise, training really helped clear up any misinformation and assessment conditions were calming, especially for someone that generally really struggles in exams, over the moon.
I would recommend this course for everyone to do such a nice environment to learn gas .. I like Simon he is the best tutor I have seen he is very nice person and knowledgeable to teach Gas. He gave us all his experience in few weeks I would as well thanks Andy, Steve
Stuart was top notch really helped me with pipe bending which was a real struggle for me to start with All the team is spot on Thank you
I chose Access Training because of the previous reviews on trust pilot. I don't regret it. Almost all the webinars were delivered by Rob Glover. I was blown away by the resources available to us on the portal. It was clear Rob and Zakia have worked tirelessly to ensure this package is delivered professionally, outstanding knowledge in subject matter and just enough humour to keep things interesting. The response time for all queries was excellent. I was very impressed with Rob's ability to de-escalate any potential disruption during the webinars. As someone with ADHD, I chose to watch the recorded webinars as I found the 'live chat' very distracting. It also gives the option to slow down/speed up the pace and pause/rewind/re watch anything which seems unclear. The downside to not watching them live is the missing out in asking questions 'real time', however the team are available to respond on the Portal using the 'live chat'. Theory almost completed, roll on the practical. I would recommend Access Training for any would be Sparky. They have several training sites within the UK, you can chose which site to attend depending on availability and preferred location. Well done Team Access.
Craig is great at what he does and he will push you to be the best you can be. He does a lot to help people who are not taught by him in the community to point them in the right direction. Which is what he did with me so I decided to go with him to help me be the best I could be.
It is very nice and good guidance as a new college, I hope it continues and helps me through out my study, Cheers
Nick has been really helpful with career support for me. He has been actively looking for a work placement for me and even made a CV for me.
So far my experience has only been with 1 Tutor-Paul Kelly. He has been very helpful and knowledgeable about this course. Perfect person for the job as he has a lot of experience in the area which is superb. The training institute as well has made training easy by letting you take charge of your learning which matches your lifestyle which was what caught my attention.
James & Callum both explained things clearly and answered all questions I had regarding the electric packages - the on-boarding to the course was quick and a simple process The follow up call from Sarka today was much appreciated and Sarka was also very helpful
Good attention
I passed my Inspection and Testing qualification exams at my first attempt, thanks to my teacher/assessor James Coffey. In the beginning I was confusing the test button, null button etc. but he taught me everything I needed to pass the exam. He creates a nice environment to learn without panic and to ask lots of questions including stupid ones. Focus and be open during the classes about your knowledge gap. Let the teachers guide you and help you.
Everytime Ive spoken to any representative of Access training in any department they have been, helpful, polite, caring and most importantly clear The whole process has been a joy, my full trust is with them
Excellent Electrical Training with James Coffey I had a fantastic experience training in electrical inspection and testing at Access Training. James Coffey is an outstanding instructor—clear, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive. He explains complex topics in a way that’s easy to understand and always takes time to tailor that to the individual student. The course was well-structured with great hands-on practice. Thanks to James. Highly recommended!
Excellent webinars by Rob and Brian. Very informative and also a bit of fun whilst learning a lot about electrical installations.
