Before I begin my review I can see that there are many 5 star reviews and quite a few 1 star reviews for Access Training with not many rated in the middle (2-4 stars). After completing the course I can understand why. My experience overall with access was positive. I would like to particularly mention how fantastic Mark Woodford was on the 2 weeks practical training in Southampton. He is an incredibly knowledgeable teacher with great patience, an entertaining delivery style and a genuine interest in the welfare of his students. He is a credit to Access and I cannot praise him enough. I think the reason that there are quite a few 1 star reviews on trust pilot is that the course requires alot of self motivation and learning. Support is available throughout but it really does rely on people being able to keep themselves focused and work by themselves through the large amount of content required to complete the course. I went into this course expecting it to be more like a traditional school/ college environment and that is not the case. This is very much a "self learning' course and you will not have you hand held through each step. I believe the reason for the '1 Star' reviews mainly comes from people that expected more to be done for them. If you want that experience, then this is not for you. Overall I am happy with the training and will continue onto the next step through Access Training in the future.

Absolutely waisting time I started My plumbing course last September and the waiting time in each section is too much nearly took three month to be able to book each exams, today my car broke down and I couldn't go for my unwented course and was trying to book it again and it gives me slot on February which is next three months, the reason I paid this huge amount of money to access training was to finish my course earlier but it is gonna take time as same as state college, whenever we call the access training we do not get any proper response and over and over poor excuses. Please do not waist your time.

Easy to locate and lots of parking close by. Examiner Sophie was great, made sure we knew what was happening. Communicated very well throughout making sure everything ran smoothly.

Absolutely shocking, I have waited over 4 weeks for my certificate have promised me today would be over. Now have come up with ‘the eal hub is down’. To pay thousands for this is absolutely shocking. Poor excuse after poor excuse. To add how dodgy the whole process is they can’t even provide me with a poxy certificate. Complete cowboys. Use a reliable competitor.

I’ve just finished my gas assessment week with Simon, I’m glad that I’ve had trainer with so much knowledge on the subject. He made the most difficult challenges seem so easy and explained everything In a way which was so easy to understand. Very good gas trainer 👍 could not recommend enough, thanks Simon

I'm doing the core electrical training. I had my induction call from Sarka Donohoe and she was very helpful in explaing what to do on the course and how to use the portal.

Just finished my gas assessment week in Welwyn Garden City centre under Stuart Sutton supervision. My experience was verry good, Stuart helped me a lot and lots of information explained in a manner that I understood it clearly.

If you have craig as your assessor you'll be just fine. Craig made this prosess enjoyable and easy, always there if you need a hand with anything, top block!

Although it sometimes takes a while to get an email reply , access training has always delivered the training and the information I needed . The exam environment is probably the best I have experienced, a relaxed approach makes you feel welcome and it’s easier to concentrate . I had good experiences at the Edenbridge location and Southampton.

Callum was invaluable throughout the entire practical training process. The plumbing practical training was very informative and well-structured. Our trainer was patient and knowledgeable, making sure everyone understood each step before moving on. I particularly appreciated the focus on real-world skills and safety. I would highly recommend this course to anyone starting a career in plumbing.

Attended level 3 test and inpection. As an adult learner the staff were very helpful and James at the cardiff establishment was very good at teaching and talking with all the students in my group. Would assist in any queries we had he would also explain further if required. Definitely will be attending again. Thanks guys....

Callum, giving the training, was great. Having never attempting any plumbing he was a fantastic tutor. A relaxed atmosphere with some great tunes being played made it even more enjoyable. Couldn’t recommend it any more highly.

From start to finish, he was nothing short of outstanding. Callum has the perfect balance of professionalism, patience, and real-world industry knowledge. He didn’t just teach the tasks—he made sure we understood why things are done a certain way, what could go wrong on a real job, and how to work safely, confidently and to a high standard. Every question, no matter how basic, was answered clearly and without judgement. You can really tell he takes pride in seeing students improve. What impressed me most was how hands-on he was. He didn’t stand back and just instruct—he worked alongside us, demonstrated techniques step-by-step, and then watched carefully to make sure we were doing it right. If something wasn’t quite correct, he explained it in a way that actually made sense, instead of just pointing out mistakes. You leave each day feeling more capable than when you started. He created a comfortable learning environment where everyone felt supported, encouraged and confident to try new things. You could tell he genuinely wanted us to succeed—not just pass a course, but to become competent tradespeople. As for Access Training itself, the facilities were great, the structure of the practical training was spot on, and the support from the whole team was excellent. But Callum was the standout. If every tutor in the trade training world had his level of knowledge, teaching ability and attitude, there would be a lot more skilled and confident plumbers out there. If you’re considering training with Access Training, take this as your sign—do it. And if you get Callum as your tutor, you’re in the best hands possible. Truly an amazing experience and one I’m grateful for. Highly recommended.

Absolutely awful experience at the Cardiff branch. I’m currently doing the 2-week electrical practical training, and the teaching quality has been shockingly poor. The instructor here is completely dismissive, sarcastic, and aggressive whenever students ask questions. Instead of explaining concepts properly, he grunts, rolls his eyes, and responds with comments like “I’ve said it three times” in an irritated tone. When I asked a simple question about insulation resistance values, I was spoken to in front of everyone in an extremely rude and humiliating way — told my “attitude to learning is shit” just for trying to understand the topic. He even kept repeating “is the value the same, is the value the same, is the value the same!” in an aggressive tone instead of helping me learn. The atmosphere in this class is hostile and demoralising, not educational. I left feeling angry and unable to focus for hours afterwards. There’s zero patience, zero respect, and no sense of professionalism. This kind of behaviour completely ruins what should be a positive and practical learning experience. If management actually cares about their reputation, they need to seriously review who they put in front of students at this centre. I would strongly recommend choosing another location if you actually want to learn in a supportive environment.

Absolutely awful,I signed up with access 3 years ago am now trying to find another course provider just so I can get qualified .they have been marking my portfolio for 2 years now worst mistake of my life giving these con artists money
