The worst operator I've ever used.

The worst operator I've ever used. The internet is absolutely unstable. The speed is 0.2mb/s and this is 4g coverage? According to diagnostics, it feels like they're "scattering" it across different servers, like some kind of parasite. Ping is crazy. +- normal internet only at night. I don't recommend it

False Advertising Buyer Beware.

False Advertising Buyer Beware. You have to purchase a plan by contract before you get your free month and then you have very little data as they say it's a FAIR USAGE POLICY. Absolutely A Disgrace. It Looks like a great deal but it's not. Beware.

PATHETIC

Absolutely terrible. Indescribably useless. Data rarely ever works, and if it does, it’s 3g. There is no roaming despite what they say. I’ve tried everything and even got in contact with 48 to fix the issue and still nothing works. On top of that, you are not able to call non Irish numbers. UK, Spain, America etc. Complete joke. I don’t understand how something can be so useless. I am not usually the type to leave reviews and complain about things, but holy god 48 is terrible. The price is good, but the quality of services needs a serious overhaul.

scammers

Don't buy it, it's a scam. After 8 days of paying to Menbresia, my calls were cut off and they did all this to me twice and when I claim, only a robot answering machine comes out, please don't fall into the cheap trap, because in the end It's expensive, they charge you two or three installments a month.

Horrible customer support!

Oh my Gosh. Where do I begin. First off, my payment was completed and taken *BY THE MERCHANT* for the amount of membership but somehow 48 “did not have this in their system” of course and the support i recieved was so rude!! Crew member was sending me loads of rude messages like “have you not even read this?!!!” When I said “I don’t understand what your telling me” was very hostile the whole time and continued to force the idea that my bank cancelled the payment (no email or any notice from bank on my statement and still to this day says completed) and was saying that I was wrong and then disconnected me when I was asking them to get a supervisor and said “bye have a good day” I mean how rude!

Absolute shambles of a phone network

Absolute shambles of a phone network. If Ireland's Comreg had balls, this pathetic network would be shut down long time ago. Calls dropping or never showing up at all even though phone has bars of signal. Signal drops from full coverage to no service / no network for absolutely no reason. DO NOT BOTHER JOINING 48.ie

AVOID THIS NETWORK

Terrible network. Avoid!!!!!!! To activate roaming, whether for calls or data, you have to go in to the SIM settings and physically pick the International Profile. When you return home you again have to go in to the SIM settings and switch back to automatic. There is nothing automatic about this!!!! All this wouldn't be too bad if you were going on holiday for a couple of weeks so you'd only have to do it on arrival in the roaming country and again when you get back. But for those of us who live in border counties it is an utter joke having to do this a few times a day. Mickey Mouse network, useless for roaming.

They lie about the roaming but the…

They lie about the roaming but the worse part is that your sim card from 48 will appear in your phone as completely disconnected from the network in any country you visit. That means that if you are somewhere in Europe for a couple of weeks you won't be able in any circumstance to send or receive phone calls or sms. That company should go to courts for lying about their fake services

Great improvements!

I have left a very bad comment on 48.ie one year ago but it seems that there were really good improvements since, so here I am, updating my review. 48.ie works now also abroad after some settings to be activated and the deal is a really good price. I can now say that I recommend 48.ie!

Zero Roaming

Zero Roaming. I had roaming only in Spain after chatting with customer service an hour. I have had zero roaming in any the countries I have visited: UK, Greece, Germany Lithuania, which has caused me all sorts of problems from finding directions to uploading tickets, making my travel experience quite stressful instead of enjoyable. Excellent value for money at home in Ireland for calls, texts and unlimited data. USELESS for roaming anywhere in EU and UK. My advice is, don't bother with roaming at all. It's too stressful. Customer Service working perfect but they don't know what to do. I bought Tesco mobile top up for roaming in UK and Europe-working perfect.
