The worst operator I've ever used.

The worst operator I've ever used. The internet is absolutely unstable. The speed is 0.2mb/s and this is 4g coverage? According to diagnostics, it feels like they're "scattering" it across different servers, like some kind of parasite. Ping is crazy. +- normal internet only at night. I don't recommend it

False Advertising Buyer Beware.

False Advertising Buyer Beware. You have to purchase a plan by contract before you get your free month and then you have very little data as they say it's a FAIR USAGE POLICY. Absolutely A Disgrace. It Looks like a great deal but it's not. Beware.

PATHETIC

Absolutely terrible. Indescribably useless. Data rarely ever works, and if it does, it’s 3g. There is no roaming despite what they say. I’ve tried everything and even got in contact with 48 to fix the issue and still nothing works. On top of that, you are not able to call non Irish numbers. UK, Spain, America etc. Complete joke. I don’t understand how something can be so useless. I am not usually the type to leave reviews and complain about things, but holy god 48 is terrible. The price is good, but the quality of services needs a serious overhaul.

Good value, acceptable service

Have been with 48 for over three years now (long enough to be on the 7.99 a month deal) and never had an issue anywhere in the country I've travelled. When you're reading review sites, always remember people are more likely to go online and rate a service when it doesn't work for them as expected resulting in a negative rating. Can be a bit annoying having to manually switch SIM profiles when going overseas but it's no big deal really, can do that while you're sitting on the plane. Good value and cheap and cheerful. Browsing speeeds are fine, voice quality is fine, inability to send SMS to short codes probably the biggest issue I've had over the years but most networks have same issue. I've only contacted customer service once and they had my issue (payment issue) sorted quickly.

Ive had more signal issues and problems…

Ive had more signal issues and problems with calls in the last month with 48 mobile than I have had in 15 years of having a mobile phone. Service needs to be improved massively.

Infuriating, not worth it, Moving On

I've been with this mobile phone network for a few months now, and I can't express how infuriating the coverage has been. Simple things like texting in for competitions isn't available, and the last straw was during a trip to Belfast from the Republic of Ireland. I had no coverage to use Google Maps for navigation. It was infuriating.

Good Cheap Service But Changes Need To Happen Fast

I’m a former Eir, Virgin Media mobile customer until I joined this service at the end of August it took a while for me to access making phone calls but the internet worked straight away. Changes I’d like to be made is that you can also contact through a phone no and setup up a hotspot to work off the mobile data.

Website doesn't function

Apart from the fact the data strength is poor the thing that did it for me is the website. Bearing in mind the website is all you can deal with, they dont take calls. When my debit card expired it was impossible to update it on their site. I spent hours over 3 days trying, before I gave up. Their on line agents are of no help either.

Lord have mercy on my soul and patience…

Lord have mercy on my soul and patience I am just going to Tesco mobile. Experience wouldnt even be the word more like frustration. Whoever they hired to build the website needs to know what a computer is first, have they even heard the word user experience. Now before the frustration amounts to crushing walnuts in my bare hands I am leaving this network. Constantly getting in the way of being able to contact people, you wouldnt buy a car with 3 wheels because your not stupid, dont entertain this nonsense.

Almost 3 years with 48! No complaints!! Best thing I did when offer was out 7.99 a month!! Where can you go wrong with that!! No problem with Internet . I live out in the countryside calls are great . I'm delighted to have free calls. I wouldn't change it was paying €20 a month and never had calls with that .

My wife has moved her second number to…

My wife has moved her second number to 48. Now whole week gone and she is still not able to top up, use her account or use her card, because she is getting message that "you are unable to buy membership, because portin in progress". She is able to receive phone calls and text, but like I said she can do nothing else. Plus after week she has received notification that her "new user extra 1 GB" just expired, because she didn't top up. Common, really? Tech team said they now about the problem with new customers, but it's over a week now and nothing changed. We are moving back to Lyca. I do not recommend 48 as this brand is dying.
