Review summary
Xplosive Events has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate professional, though some mention concerns about expensive and poor quality.
Claimed refund for a event that changed date and location.
Got told refund within 30 days
Still not received money back
Awful company sent email asking what's going on and when will I get money back, no response.
Will be contacting ombudsman
I ordered tickets to Newbury summerfest and the event was cancelled, they offered a refund which I accepted, this was in the middle of May. I have contact xplosive events a number of times about this and had no response they just keep sending me replacement tickets for an event that has passed. I have emailed, left voicemails and had nothing back. Avoid this company, I will now be contacting my bank.
Still waiting for a refund for an event that was cancelled! Mid May I responded to the initial email requesting full refund! We were told it would be refunded within 30 days. Its now July and still no sign of a refund. Please DO NOT book with this company!!!
Been following Xplosive Events around then UK watching their displays and enjoying their events. The time, efforts and creativity that goes into each one is unbeaten! Abingdon fireworks is my all time favourite with their immersive display, it’s one not to be missed. Highly recommend!
The event was seamless from start to finish. The fireworks display was spectacular, synchronized beautifully with the music. Food and drinks were abundant, and the atmosphere was lively. Traffic management could improve, but the experience was worth it. Definitely attending again next year. Highly recommend for families and friends alike!
First time at an Xplosive event, and we were amazed! The fireworks were the best we’ve ever seen, and the bonfire was massive and mesmerizing. Loved the non-alcoholic hot drinks for designated drivers. Well-organized and family-friendly. We’ll definitely be back.
Xplosive Events never disappoints! We attended SpringFest, and it was an absolute blast. The monster truck shows, live music, and great food options kept us entertained all day. Leaving took a while, but the fantastic memories made it worthwhile. Highly recommend!
What a lovely and exciting event, I would definitely recommend anyone goes it's group and family friendly, I will definitely be going again.
I went with some friends and we all found it pretty easy to get to and to get parking but we did come early as I knew the show ground access is from smaller roads so can cause delays if you come when everyone else is also trying to get in.
There was a Mega sized fun fair with endless fun for kiddos, there was a huge variety of food vendors ( my favourite TikkaTango).
There was also lovely drinks vendors with hot and cold drinks and they even had non alcoholic hot apple "cider" great for those of us who drive.
The show started with low sound fireworks (for kids) but this did not take from the beauty of the sparkly and colourful skylights.
The second part of the show was the Bonfire. How the bonfire was lit was a show in itself and then the sheer size of this bonfire was mind-blowing and mesmerising.
The main fireworks show was an amazing choreographed musical production. It was an enthralling display, that stimulated both visual and auditory senses. Beautiful, emotional and a lot of fun ( You know evocative shapes and colours a loads of vivid sounds dancing to the music) !!!!
Leaving took a bit of time (1h) but it's only logical if you think people for the show arrived between 3-7 but they nearly all wanted to leave once the show was over.
As I have been to a few different festivals and events I did come prepared with some snacks and good music.
There could maybe be some additional staff directing people out so that you don't get the people that cut in line.
Other tips:
You can bring camp chairs or pop tents and blankets and get yourself set up on a good spot to watch the show.
For the main display if you are noise sensitive (as one of my friends were) Loop earplugs definitely helps take the edge of the "loudness" and that way you get to enjoy the amazing display.
Events at a military base ought to be organised with military precision - this one was a farce.
I do not deny that the fireworks were enjoyable, when they eventually happened, but the lead up was ridiculous. Why advertise 6pm quiet fireworks for children then tell families not to leave afterwards because the in-coming traffic would make that impossible? Why build the biggest bonfire then claim shock when it is too hot to allow the Monster Trucks to perform, so events would be delayed - who wants to see them anyway? We received multiple emails urging us to arrive at 3pm, to avoid the traffic, for a firework display that did not happen until 8:40pm - it was too late, we were bored, cold, fed up and ended up leaving before the end, because we knew that the ridiculous number of tickets sold meant we'd be stuck in the car park all night. Even then, no identifers on the rows and no lighting meant we struggled to locate our car. Then came the 12-lane departure queue of cars, for which you had to hold your nerve to inch forward. If you left a gap, someone created another lane - no marshalling at all.
We had already decided that the event was so badly run, we just wouldn't bother again, but this review was prompted by an offer of 50% off next year. No way, it was a chaotic entrapment, designed for maxmimum profit. We're not falling for that again!
A special shout out to the paramedics who, with shameful diregard for the bad example they were setting, were having great fun playing sword fights with very large and powerful sparklers!
Absolutely incredible experience that has given us memories for a lifetime!
We went to Abingdon fireworks run by Xplosive events and all I can say is this was the most incredible display I have ever been to! The whole event was amazing! The music, the DJ, the atmosphere, the fireworks made the experience just fantastic!
The whole event was really well organised, the delay getting in and out wasn’t the organisers fault, it was due to an accident on the A34 and people pushing to the front! I can’t even be mad at for the delay because the display was just unreal and we were buzzing still!!
Absolutely cannot wait to go again next year and many years to come!!
Thank you to everyone that made it so special! Loved loved loved it!!!
Yet again a wonderful time had at your event!!! The fireworks were amazing!! Well done to all the Xplosive events team for all your amazing work!! Will definitely be back again next year!!
