Great teachers!
Kathrin has been an amazing teacher for the last year... Very friendly and engaging with the children and able to lead the lesson so that all the children get to improve and have a good time.
Water Babies receives consistently positive reviews. Customers particularly appreciate professional and service, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.

The swim instructors are fantastic, we had 2 in our time with water babies. From our first lesson when my little one was 6 weeks old to my last session when she was 8 months old. They were kind, helpful & most of all kept us safe in the water whilst having fun and bonding with our babies. It definitely helped my confidence & my little one has always loved the water & isn't scared at all. The only reason for 1 star short of 5 was the venue, because it is a private school it wasn't catered for the usual public swimming. So the changing facilities weren't set up with cubicles, showers, changing tables for babies etc. However, it was very local for us, so we were happy to compromise on this. We could have had lessons further afield with a more formal changing facility but this wasn't practical for us to travel.
Toria the waterbabies instructor at jethen house is absolutely amazing!! She goes above and beyond to make parents and children feel comfortable, supported and heard. Nothing is too much trouble and any concerns you have regarding swimming with your little one is always taken into consideration and the support you didnt even know you needed is alway's given to make you feel confident and ready to swim with you baby. You can really tell the passion she has for waterbabies not only as an instructor but also as a parent who has been through it twice. Im so so glad I chose waterbabies and im so so glad we were put into Torias class.
Lessons are progressive and so much fun for me and my daughter. We have been attending since she was 12 weeks old and have no intentions to stop. The confidence gained in just 14 weeks is incredible. Lessons do tend to run late meaning we start later than expected, and this obviously will happen when dealing with children! but I have noticed that our session is occasionally cut five minutes short which is disappointing considering each session is over £20 for half hour.

We love our Water Babies class, we’ve been going for over a year now and it’s my toddlers favourite class/activity of the week.

I started taking my kids to Waterbabies over 5 years ago. I found it fun and a great bonding experience. Teachers have been fantastic, and we truly enjoyed it. Until recently, my eldest's son's class was cancelled due to low numbers, and there was no suitable substitute lesson for him to go to. I had to take him out, and I have been charged 4 weeks' notice. It's not our fault at all, but as a long-term customer, I did not dispute a refund and let it go. However,a few months later, I called to ask if I could pause my younger son's lessons for a few months, as I was expecting my third baby, and to come back to Waterbabies with two babies. The lady over the phone told me that my only solution would be to give 4 weeks notice to cancel the class and to rejoin, and only if they would have a space. She was talking to me in a very patronizing manner, belittling me. When I objected to her and asked why she was talking to me in this way, she raised her voice, called me rude, and said that I required to be spoken to this way, as if I were some naughty child. Over the years, Waterbabies had to cancel numerous classes due to low numbers; merged classes moved them, so the attitude of "We are doing you a favor" does not sit well with long-term clients. Nevertheless,on the same phone call, I spoke with a North London brunch owner who was more emotionally stable and easier to talk to but refused to pause lessons for me and said that the lesson I am attending with my son at the moment will be displaced anyway. When I asked her, "So you want me to pay for 4 weeks for lessons that are going to be cancelled anyway?" She was a bit shy and said that they would be cancelled in 5 weeks. So my point is that, as much as we enjoyed waterbabies classes over the last 5 years, with the right attitude, they could teach 2 more babies for another 5+ years; however, they proved not to care about clients or have much human touch, it's about a quick buck. It's such a shame. I am absolutely sure there are plenty of independent swimming schools out there that would be happy to teach us. •••Response to Waterbabies reply••• Thank you, Waterbabies. I feel very privileged for you to cancel the class just because I need to pause. I just wonder how the other 6+ people from same class going to feel about it? Oh no, don't tell me they are all leaving as well, I wonder why?

First of all the swimming lessons we have had both with my baby and my toddler were all amazing and we loved the teachers and both kids had fun and enjoyed themselves. However the concept of water babies is absolutely unrealistic for families who don’t have childcare at hand or families who have jobs that require them to be away. The rules at water babies stand they are absolutely not flexible or budging on it. Considering that these lessons are only 30 minutes but cost you over 20£ it’s ridiculous that they want you to sign up for two months and then the cancellation notice is another 4 weeks. There is no pausing your classes. My husband sometimes has to be away for a couple weeks time for work and we have no family or childcare around to look after the kid that is not swimming so you are made to pay for lessons you won’t be able to attend even if you would know this way in advance and classes could be offered as catch up lessons. Which brings me to next point. 2 catch up lessons every 6 months. Have you guys ever had children and know how often they get ill! Absolutely unrealistic and a rip off. My next point is over the span we have been with water babies we have been to different locations and figured we are paying the same for different facilities. One location had changing units, individual changing cubicles for adults, showers, a cafe, a play area and then the other I had to change my baby on the floor in a girls changing room that had space for two adults but we were in it with 5 women and 5 babies trying to make it work. No cafe no decent waiting or viewing area. And the prices paid were the same. Do I recommend the lessons yes. Do I recommend the water babies concept no, absolutely not. Ridiculous rules to prices that well are too high for what you are getting. Swimming is a life skill it should be accessible to everyone.

We had a poor experience from the poor communication to the lack of changing rooms. A number of times my partner has had to share a room with other parents men and women to get back dressed after swimming is just appalling. Also it's a rolling monthly contact after the first 8 lesson so don't be caught out like we have and paid an extra month for nothing, if the plan is to just have the 8 lessons then cancel after the 4th. Also last minute cancellations to classes. Not interested in helping but quick to take your money. A lot better nicer classes if your in Doncaster.

Been taking my little one to Water Babies since he was around 3/4 months old. It’s been a lovely way to get his exposed to water and swimming, and he’s now almost 2 and a half years and still going. He loves being in the water, and the lessons (although go super quick!) are so enjoyable, love being taught by Kate. Classes are kept relatively small which I like and teachers are brilliant. It has that small family run feel but with plenty to learn. I’m now due my second baby in the next 2 months and will definitely be joining them up to Water Babies.

My daughter has been swimming with water babies since she was 8 weeks old. Each week she swims with confidence and grows from strength to strength with her development she enjoys it so much and has pure smiles everytime we go swimming.

We love these classes. The teachers are experienced, friendly and make it fun for the kids. All 3 of my children learnt to swim with Waterbabies. Definitely worth the money. My kids can swim safely and confidently (all by the age of 2/3 years old). My youngest is now learning key skills to improve their swimming (age 3).

I don't think my son is really improving from class to class. Is already more than a year and he is not swimming yet. I have friends in other programs in other countries and in just weeks the kids learn to swim by themselves. We enjoy the time in classes together. But is not working
