Excellent introduction to water no matter how young your baby
The swim instructors are fantastic, we had 2 in our time with water babies. From our first lesson when my little one was 6 weeks old to my last session when she was 8 months old. They were kind, helpful & most of all kept us safe in the water whilst having fun and bonding with our babies. It definitely helped my confidence & my little one has always loved the water & isn't scared at all. The only reason for 1 star short of 5 was the venue, because it is a private school it wasn't catered for the usual public swimming. So the changing facilities weren't set up with cubicles, showers, changing tables for babies etc. However, it was very local for us, so we were happy to compromise on this. We could have had lessons further afield with a more formal changing facility but this wasn't practical for us to travel.

Toria the waterbabies instructor at jethen house is absolutely amazing!! She goes above and beyond to make parents and children feel comfortable, supported and heard. Nothing is too much trouble and any concerns you have regarding swimming with your little one is always taken into consideration and the support you didnt even know you needed is alway's given to make you feel confident and ready to swim with you baby. You can really tell the passion she has for waterbabies not only as an instructor but also as a parent who has been through it twice. Im so so glad I chose waterbabies and im so so glad we were put into Torias class.
Progressive and fun
Lessons are progressive and so much fun for me and my daughter. We have been attending since she was 12 weeks old and have no intentions to stop. The confidence gained in just 14 weeks is incredible. Lessons do tend to run late meaning we start later than expected, and this obviously will happen when dealing with children! but I have noticed that our session is occasionally cut five minutes short which is disappointing considering each session is over £20 for half hour.

3 years of fantastic swimming lessons
Our daughter has been having swimming lessons with Water Babies for over 3 years. At all stages, the lessons have been full of skills content and fun. She loves the lessons each week (so do I) and we have made good friends in the classes we’ve attended. Our swimming teacher Jackie has always given 100% to make sure all the children make great progress. It’s always very clear why we’re doing what we’re doing. It’s been wonderful to see our daughter developing into a competent swimmer, but most of all she is confident and safe in the water and absolutely loves swimming. We couldn’t be more pleased!

Water Babies is a great company
Water Babies is a great company, I have been swimming with my daughter since she was 9 weeks old. The sessions are tailored for the babies and she is now very confident in the water and loves splashing around. It’s also great for teaching littluns safety skills.

I would like I would like to give 5…
I would like I would like to give 5 stars but there is one negative thing. No one thinks about the safety of children when changing in the changing room. Children do not have changing tables or chairs with belts. Small children lie on beds so it is not a problem but children aged 8-12 months start to move. You cannot put them on a bench or bed because they will fall, the floors are dirty and wet with the last group. Parents have a hard time after leaving the pool, maybe it would be worth investing in chairs that the teacher can later take away like the rest of the equipment.

Love Water Babies
We've been taking our little one to Water Babies in Colchester for the past couple of months now and we absolutely love it! His instructor is amazing - really friendly, active, and encouraging (to babies and their parents!), and makes sure the babies are learning lots of new things every week in an exciting and safe way. Our six month old has quickly grown to love being in the water and smiles and splashes through his lessons. We trialed a lesson elsewhere recently (due to fitting our schedule better) but decided to stick with Water Babies because the lessons are just so much better and because Cerise is such a fantastic instructor!

Not worth how much you pay ….
Our teacher is continuing looking at her ipad to know what is next on the class which delays the class a little Sometimes our teacher isnt clear on instructions when doing something new - when we had a cover teacher she was much clearer on the tasks and the class flowed The facilities are often unclean and lack of privacy - not worth how much we pay considering the pay increase Only with water babies as this the only place locally to me that does weekends Do like the fact you can book catch up classes is absent and now on the app even better Like how transparent the website is with classes - wish there was an app to send reminders of classes
