Refused to by my car because it was previously registered a diplomatic vehicle. Gave no reason or explanation. Useless company, vasting my time. They mention resale restrictions and company policy making it inpossible to buy formerly registered diplomatic vehicles. This BS, there are no restrictions on selling that kind of vehicles. If it is their policy, they should inform about it in advance, not waste the customers time.
This was an experlent way to sell my car quickly and easily. Connor Mountain was particularly helpful in this process after I had filled in the online questionnaire. Everything went smoothly and the payment was promptly maid before the vehicle was driven away. Many thanks to the whole team

It was really easy to do, smooth transaction. very nice people. Answered any questions and paid instantly. Would highly recommend these. My car didn’t get picked up so I took it in and they arranged transport for me home, really thoughtful.

Well we had Alex as our advisor the guy was pleasant enough hard to tell through WhatsApp? Like they don’t have there own messaging platform for talking to people they have to use a third party app… so that was weird to start with. But anyway onto the real topic the car selling process!!!… they gave us a respectable quote bit under retail price aka what they would sell for on a fourcourt but she’s got age related marks so nothing I wasn’t expecting if I’m honest.. the real beef came when they said they wanted 1300 off for not having an original exhaust which made me laugh. It’s got a mongoose twin port exhaust on it which was professionally done to look and sound like a vxr corsa it’s not loud and annoying like most just deep grumbles they know this as I had to send a video to them of the exhaust with the engine on. They gave some excuse like the dealers would have to put it back to standard to sell it which is bollocks to be honest as it makes the corsa unique and not like every stock corsa on the four courts there cerntainly isn’t another like this about I’ve never seen one so it would only increase the value no? Anyway I’ve read all the 1* reviews on here and I’m guessing where not the only ones having trouble with these cowboys 🤣 for context our car is a 17 plate corsa 1.4t with 50000 miles on… original offer 5349 they slashed it to 4000 for an exhaust…. Make of this what you want and i wish everyone else good luck with TCBG hope this helps anyone else 👍

Agreed price was not given, despite good condition car as discussed with a guaranteed prive. Knocked a quarter of the agreed price based on the lack of a service book. Complete chances, timewasters, didn't listen to the customer and lost their sale. Won't be dealing with again.

After a very unpleasant dealing with one other car scrappage company I had the pleasure of dealing with Charlie at The Car Buying Company. They were incredibly friendly and competent. Beating the other quote i had received and arranging super fast collection even when my engine had seized and the car was non-driveable. 11/10 Would highly recommend :)

They gave me a fair quote online but they reduced the price of my car by £2k only because it had been registered for taxi which is bizarre. TFL scrutinise us and expect our cars to be road worthy for the safety of passengers which is fair so our car price should go up due to the fact that we keep our cars to great standards, maintain car safety, regular service but they use that as an excuse to lower car price by £2k only to increase their profit margins. DISGUSTING AND GREEDY. I have explained over the phone my car has been registered as a taxi but has NOT been used as a taxi at all abd I have also explained any cars used for taxi must have MOT done every 6 months and in this case MOT hasn't been done every 6 month which is proof that this car I'm trying to sell has not been used for taxi. I also explained it's lower mileage which is also proof of not been used for taxi yet purchase price went down by £2k from the quote I have received so all in all it's an excuse to buy it from me for cheaper in order to increase their profit margin. I also said I have another car that I use for cabbing, I can give number plate to prove what I'm saying is true so they can compare everything I stated yet they lowered the price by £2k. Not good enough

A very smooth and easy process from first contact to conclusion. Jack was a pleasure to deal with. We agreed a price and that was the amount that I received. No quibbling or tyre kicking at the handover of my car. Just a review of the paperwork, a once over of the car and the transfer of funds.
