Refused to by my car because it was previously registered a diplomatic vehicle. Gave no reason or explanation. Useless company, vasting my time.
They mention resale restrictions and company policy making it inpossible to buy formerly registered diplomatic vehicles. This BS, there are no restrictions on selling that kind of vehicles. If it is their policy, they should inform about it in advance, not waste the customers time.
This was an experlent way to sell my car quickly and easily. Connor Mountain was particularly helpful in this process after I had filled in the online questionnaire.
Everything went smoothly and the payment was promptly maid before the vehicle was driven away.

I bought my car in 2014, and it’s been in great condition ever since. It’s 25 years old and a lovely car. I haven’t used it in a while because it’s been in a driveway with a waterproof car cover. However, I have another car because I can’t afford both on insurance, tax, MOT, and annual services. I’m not sure if I want to get rid of it, but the thought of the scrappage scheme makes me dread it. I’m pleased that the car buying group offered me a recommended price to sell my old car, which I accepted.
Of course, I’m grateful to Rana. Her company, the car buy group, are incredibly responsive to my WhatsApp and email messages, which was instrumental in helping me sell my old car.
A driver named Charlie arrived promptly at my home. He inspected the vehicle, took photos, and reviewed the documents, ensuring everything went smoothly. As a result, my car has been sold.

I rarely write reviews and only then when the service is exceptionally good or bad. In this case my dealing with Connor Mountain at Car Buying Group was exceptionally good, from beginning to end. A price was agreed swiftly and the car was inspected and collected from my home within two working days. There was no further quibble about price and the drivers were polite and professional. Connor did a great job of getting me the best price for my vehicle. Highly recommended.
Absolutely Appalling Experience – Avoid at All Costs!
I had a truly dreadful experience with The Car Buying Group. After reluctantly accepting a very low offer for my car, I was told the vehicle would be collected in two days. That didn’t happen – apparently, there were no available slots, and the collection was rescheduled.
After receiving the car report, I informed them (well in advance) that a yellow warning light had appeared. I sent multiple messages about this – all of which were ignored. They replied to other queries but completely dodged any reference to the warning light, despite my specific request to confirm the driver would be aware to avoid any problems at collection.
On the day, the driver turned up two hours late, only to immediately say he wouldn’t take the car because of the warning light – the very issue I had tried to flag several times. I explained the reason behind it and confirmed the car was perfectly drivable, but this made no difference.
What followed was a farcical chain of phone calls, back-and-forth questioning about who I’d informed, and ultimately – they refused to take the car. I was then asked to forward emails and messages as proof, which I did – but received no reply, no apology, nothing.
Total waste of time, completely unprofessional, and deeply frustrating. They are happy to ignore you once they get what they want. I strongly recommend avoiding The Car Buying Group – not worth the hassle.
After the auction ending on Carwow, I was contacted within 1 hour. The representative Nathan talked me through the whole process and was very helpful with any questions I had. I was then kept updated all the way through and my car was collected on the day specified. The collection company were fantastic as well. They had to wait whilst I organised something and at no point did they hurry me or make me feel under pressure to speed things up. After the collection guys sent all the photos down, I waited around 20 minutes, then received a link to add my bank details. After this the money was transferred into my bank in minutes. From start to finish a professional and smooth experience. Highly recommended!!
Alex was fantastic, gave me a super fair price, sorted me out with a Saturday collection and put up with my annoying phone calls, in fact everyone I dealt with there was top draw.
I had previously tried to sell my car elsewhere but was having no luck due to my location being way out in the middle of nowhere. I submitted a valuation request online and I had a call almost immediately. Rich made the process very easy and straightforward. He was fantastic to speak to on the phone and I was able to clear my finance and sell the car within a few days. I'd absolutely consider using again!

Poor service. Was given a price, agreed, they agreed to add on £100 if i delivered the vehicle myself, to which I agreed. It came the day of arranged handover. All of a sudden theres a sale and they couldnt accomdate the handover. Moved my time from 11.30, then after 3pm, then to the next day. At this point, I took the morning off to deliver the car, arrange the collection of my new vehicle purchase and they had mucked me around so much I am going elsewhere. Dont waste your time with these people.
