This company is shocking

This company is shocking 2 months, no installation, no sorry or anything . In May they said they would connect the first part then a week later they would need someone to be at home for the final install. I booked time off work then they cancelled said no line in sight, I had to contact them to find out what was happening. They said it wasn’t them who fit it but would get back to me. Eventually they said they would send a supervisor out to assess the problem, never heard anymore, I contacted squirrel once again they said the same again and they would find out from ms3 the cable company. Weeks after, many emails later they told us to chat to our neighbours to see if they could span a cable across their yards, so I went round to see them. All said not a problem. I contacted squirrel to let them know, weeks later they gave me another date for installation, once again they never turned up. I contacted squirrel again who didn’t believe me , they then told me to be at home for the final fit. (which I booked time off work) but they never turned up at all . Got no response from squirrel again, we are now mid July so I cancelled it. Had no sorry or anything, they are a joke!!

Very quick installation

So far so good, we had broadband installed 2 weeks ago , the instalation was very quick, the router arrived the day after and was very easy to set up , although we haven't been able to use it thoroughly as we haven't moved in yet , the service seem ok so far .

Brilliant customer service

Brilliant customer service - fast and highly responsive at all times (and unlike many other broadband companies). The service has been consistent and Wi-Fi excellent with the range extenders throughout the house. Highly recommended!

cant fault one bit A++ Service

i cant fault the service one bit, Little background i've been with virgin media since the Yorkshire cable days back in 1995 (well my mum did for TV) then onto telewest for broadband (where i took over the billing) right upto virgin media because they always had the best speeds available. so the best part of 30 years I am not the average user of just netflix and consoles and have my own homelab setup where the best speeds available help me massively. So to the point When MS3 started building in the area I was thrilled finally true FTTP!! I looked at the choice of ISP and had never heard of any of them so was a little hesitant, But after a few messages to each I decided on Squirrel. I made the best choice! their communication is fantastic they talk to you like a real person and not just a scripted monkey, The installation went without a hitch and withing a hour of MS3 installing the ONT the service was live full speed both ways and has been rock solid, again im not an average user im a fairly heavy usage one yet no problems with speed 24/7. I did have 1 little problem with IPV6 not working for me which i thought i was setting up wrong as i don't use their router and use my own pfSense setup, A quick message over Facebook and withing a few minutes they'd realised it had been provisioned wrong and rectified it there and then, 1St this would have taken virgin media hours on the phone to sort out and 2Nd they wouldn't have even attempted to help me unless i was using their router in HUB mode as they wont help with your own setup, Squirrel straight away admitted they don't have anyone with a lot of pfSense knowledge but they'd look into it for me and boom sorted so all i can give them is 5***** I know this was a little long winded but i wanted to get the point across they are not your typical mass market ISP and actually put the effort in even for people with non standard setups so i say give them the chance and you wont regret it. Who ever it was i spoke to on Facebook Messenger i hope you get the recognition you deserve from your manager

Couldn't be better so far.

Day one and the installation couldn't have been any smoother. Fibre Heros did their bit getting the fibre to where we needed it (with a bit of help from my 66 year old husband crawling under the floor). The Squirrel Router arrived the following day and was literally plug and play. My son checked remotely and we were getting slightly better speeds than we were paying for. Let's see how we go from here.

Awful WiFi

Extremely poor service; the WiFi is dreadful, suggesting inferior hardware (this is my third router). The customer service team, when contacted, display a passive-aggressive and patronising attitude. During a call, a representative from Squirrel informed me that once the internet is delivered to my property, any issues with the WiFi signal are not their concern, suggesting that I should use an Ethernet cable instead. To clarify, I am merely 5 metres away from the router with no obstructions. Squirrel is a small company selling cheap internet, they're cutting costs on hardware and were told in their terms and conditions that they're responsibility ceases once the internet is delivered to the customer's home.

Happy customer

Finally having ISP choice in Hull lead me to choosing Squirrel. Was i nuts for choosing such an unknown (in this area anyways) ISP? I would at this point (6months in) say no. I 100% made the correct decision. Customer service is quick and helpful when needed (rarely is) and the price point for what we get is spot on! Never had a problem with payments/invoicing so very happy.

Absolutely brilliant experience

Absolutely brilliant experience , got my installation super fast , great price , fast speeds and stable connected (better if wired via ethernet) had a couple of questions for the customer service team over the last few days and lawrence has been brilliant , helped me out in every way I asked him to and has gone above and beyond to resolve everything, definitely recommend the company

Changed from another full fibre…

Changed from another full fibre provider to Squirrel. What a difference! Chatline, real phone person, quick replies on any email, notification if network is down….all in all you can’t wish more from a good high quality company that provides a technolgy that is still rather new. But they do everything right to keep you as a customer happy. Oh and I am not paid by them haha just a pensioner that loves the hours of use of Internet.

Brilliant service

I've been with Squirrel for a few months now and started getting drop outs of 30 seconds or so every hour or so (enough to disrupt streaming on the TV) and the speed was a fraction of what it should have been. I sent an email, got a reply in minutes and a call five minutes after that telling me that they had remote connected to my router, spotted that I had accidentally caught a button on the device, reset it for me and ran a firmware update and everything is back to being perfect. Astoundingly quick, effective and friendly service. I can't recommend these guys enough!

Brilliant!

Brilliant so far. Everything installed as planned, router came the next day with very simple and easy to use instructions and worked as described. Communication has been great and the speeds we are getting have been very good!
