What an absolute joke. I set my insurance may 2023 and they call me today to tell me after a year, that any gold in my house would not be covered by their policy. That this would be an additional payment. Wth your telling me this today, when asked why wasn't this flagged up, said it was because it was set up online. So where was that disclaimer online to tell me that? Do not waste your valuable money with these clowns. I asked for then to resend the email or letter, apparently they called me in 2023? 🤔
First time claiming SKy home insurance and having a complete nightmare, for an emergency fix and with a vulnerable person in the house with a window frame hanging off the wall, first called Tuesday AM, eventually got through and they hung up, told someone would be out within 24 hours, didn’t happen, called back today and no ticket had been raised, contractor came out, said he couldn’t do the job an hour ago as it needed a building assessment , now left with an unsafe wall and window in my sons bedroom which he can’t use and no further info, absolutely dreadful service, and now have my son sleeping on the couch for a 3rd night with an unsafe bedroom, would most definitely NOT advise using this company
I have taken a new car policy via 1st Central and it appears is underwritten by Skyfire. I have requested a hard copy of my policy and have still not received it. I have lodged a complaint with the broker now. I have been given an address for Heywoods Heath Uk. If I had known how bad this company and the broker 1st Central were I would never have dealt with either. I have been driving for 35 years.
Absolutely awful home insurance. I had a blocked pipe which caused my kitchen to flood (my wooden floor is now ruined) and they sent out a plumber who said the pipe is blocked and the soil pipe is faulty. He told me to call the insurance back and ask them to send a drainage company. I called the following morning at 9am and they said they had assigned someone to me. Hours passed, I called again at 11, then at 1.30 and both times they said the same thing. When I called again at 3pm, they said no one was actually coming as I’m not covered because the soil pipe is faulty. Firstly, why make me wait all day to tell me that? I took a day off of work, I had no bathroom facilities available as the waste water coming from the bath and shower was causing the flood and I have a small child. I managed to get a drainage company round the same day (and paid evening rate) who sorted the blockage in 45 minutes; he said the soil pipe didn’t cause the the actual blockage so technically I should have been covered. I’m absolutely disgusted with this insurance product and would strongly recommend others are not fooled into using them.
Excellent help and knowledge of car to be insured, very helpful person I spoke with on the phone, explained everything in great detail, and got a great price as well.

Since the initial review below I had a phone call from sky insurance and they were friendly and professional Sam dropped the price this year which was kindly appreciated I will continue to use sky insurance and will up the stars from 2 to 4 stars thank you Sam and management.

Hi I have been a loyal customer of sky insurance for the last 3-4 years.
However this year I was given a renewal quote of £450 an increase of £50.
They never really budge on the price and increase every year without fail.
However this year I have had points removed from license so it’s all clear and I was told that they will reduce the price that they had increased due to the points once removed, clearly not the case.
Many car insurance company’s are supporting there loyal customers with a reduction in premium due to Coronavirus virus as we have been under government restrictions so not being able to use our cars, sky insurance seems to be doing the exact opposite and taking advantage of the situation by putting the prices up.
I was told there in house under writer is responsible for this decision.

Just going into my second year of insurance with Sky with a modified car. Customer service is excellent and knowledgeable (with a special mention for Luke) and the price is extremely competitive. Very happy with the service.

Beat my renewal quote with a lower excess. Very happy with the level of customer service very helpful and clearly knows about cars unlike other brokers also they don't make you feel like you have done something terrible my modifying your car which I always seem to feel with other insurers. First policy so far so good
Tried to ring for a quote, after 25 minutes listening to that droning automatic voice, thats speaks volumes as a company so taking my business elsewhere.
my 3rd and Final Review of Sky Insurance.
in less than a year I've now gone from 4 Policy's in our household to ZERO by the end of my current policy which is due in a couple of weeks, I have now gone with a competitor / different Broker for one vehicle and whom I will also be using come 2 weeks time with the same underwriters under the same scheme's for the other. Both vehicles in question are what Sky claim to be specialists in insuring.
I am now in my 40's, I believe I took out my first Policy with Sky Insurance in 2006 on an XR3i after previously having Policys with similar brokers who are equally if not more so well known, and they were always my first choice since then with several policy's for numerous cars over the years - alas that will be no more, there is only so much BS you can use the "we are only a Broker" card for !
your "Motto" of Best Price, Best Policy, Best Service is no longer true I'm afraid when clearly your competitors can offer a Better Policy at a Better Price with a Better Service and without the excuses or hiding behind the "just a Broker" card.
I'll say it again, different broker, same underwriter, same policy under the same scheme. Price is the same as I paid last year with Sky
Whether anyone at Sky actually cares, today one of your LOYAL long term customers has gone from being one of your biggest advocates with a featured car on your website to now having the mindset of "yeah I'd try someone else first" and will happily encourage others to do the same, that sadly speaks volumes don't you think......
to add insult to injury, I am not expecting this to end smoothly either after my conversation with Caleb today, the policy/vehicle that I am referring to was originally insured from August 2016 and renewed each year since, this vehicles renewal is due in August 2020, by my maths, that is 4 years No Claims on this policy on its own (baring in mind seperate policys on seperate vehicles with their own NCD's) but yet I was today told its only 3..... even I dont need a calculator but lets see what happens in a few weeks time and see if Caleb has sent the email to whom he said he needed to send an email to in order to wrap this up :)
I was kept waiting on their automated call holding software for 25 minutes until my call was picked up and then disengaged as the agent no doubt wanted to get home for their tea as we reached 5.00pm. Unfortunately they are only open during business hours (no good for out of hours claims). Make sure you have tome to wait for an agent to pick up your call and you have plenty of spare time during the day. Good luck!
