Travelled with RSD to Nepal in June

Travelled with RSD to Nepal in June. Very good holiday, saw lots of interesting places, guide was superb and hotels were of a good standard. I would recommend the RSD holiday to Nepal

Cultural trip to Sri Lanka

I have travelled with RSD a few times and have never had a bad experience. An excellent way of seeing a country at an affordable price.

Fantastically beautiful country with lovely people

Went to Sri Lanka with RSD - fantastic countryside, amazing friendly people, good hotels and an amazing journey around the country in all its guises - one of the best trips of my life (I travel 10 mths a year) - why so good - people, no hassles of any kind going out, low cost economy, wonderful weather - an absolute gem of a holiday full of variety with something for everyone.

An Absolutely Fantastic Trip To The Balkans!

We had a wonderful holiday seeing so many UNESCO sites in Kosova, North Macedonia, Montenegro & Albania. Except for the last one, which was a little bit "Soviet era", the hotels were lovely with excellent food, very comfortable indeed. Our Turkish guide Gdoikca went above & beyond to help all passengers on her coach, even rescuing a hearing aid, which had fallen out in Cafe Mozart in Budva, Montenegro & organising for someone to drive it to our hotel at least 2 hours away so we had it before the coach left next morning.

Perhaps the worst travel company currently in operation

After returning from an RSD trip to India, a troubling feeling persists. Trust in the 14-day cultural tour (£799pp) was misplaced. We encountered issues like inappropriate accommodations, rundown hotels, and a careless guide, Jai S. Warehouses and showrooms stops pressured the elderly to buy products and then persued them further down our journey when they refused. At Maharani Textiles and Handicrafts, an elderly member was pressured into an expensive purchase. Jai S, the guide showed no concern. The trip also included a damaged bus, water damage to personal items, and a malfunctioning shaver. Despite promises, Jai S later denied responsibility for repairs to the item. Towards the trip's end, the guide Jai S requested tips, suggesting £2560 for the driver, mate and himself. In addition, unsuprisingly, some fellow travelers paid significantly less for the same excursions others paid much more for. We loved India, but the awful travel company and guide ruined the experience. We'll visit again with a serious travel company

Beware of hidden costs!

We’d travelled previously twice with this company so we thought we knew what to expect with booking. However things have gone downhill rapidly. We have been offered a huge discount on various destinations and tried to book one of them. The price used to include breakfast and evening meal in the first week but you need to book locally for meals during the second week. Now it’s advised to purchase the evening meals for the first week at a special price at time of booking, so no longer included. Fair enough except having been on these out of season trips, THERE IS NOWHERE ELSE TO EAT as everywhere is either closed or much too far away to get to. This is not made clear in their leaflets OR when you try to book unless you question it. This adds on to your booking an extra £130+ per person. Then on the second week you need to purchase a meal package locally. Soooooo…. A holiday advertised as low as £230 per person now w becomes around £475 per person if you want to eat in the evening during the first week or at all during the second week. YES it is s good deal even at that price, BUT, most people that use these cheap deals are pensioners who book them because of the price and wouldn’t otherwise go abroad because of cost. I feel that this is an unfair marketing tactic. ALL costs should be included in the price, so they should revise the price accordingly. I gave up today and probably will never use them again, pity, because we’d have used them much more otherwise.

My first experience with RSD RSD travelling…

My first experience with RSD travelling to Northern Cyprus, for two weeks the booking at the airport was a joke 2hrs over due to the amount of people going, at one point only I person checking baggage. The first two hotels were okay, the guide and our driver was very good. But if you on a budget this trip not for you the tip boxes in all hotels were a bit much my daughter suitcase was left at Gatwick now she having an issue getting compensation for the inconvenience and stress. Overall I enjoyed the holiday even though it was hectic. Salmis hotel nice but to much people didn't cater for those who had allergies or intolerant to foods such bread fruits, meat.

We are at present on a trip to Northern…

We are at present on a trip to Northern Cyprus. The first week was excellent but the second week here in the salamis conti 5 star luxury is our worst nightmare. It is like a glorified holiday camp. The meals are served in what one could only describe as a works canteen but with hundreds of kids running round. Will never travel with this company again. For our 11.20 flight home we are having an early breakfast at 2AM before heading to the airport absolutely appalling customer service. The rep here in resort is absolutely useless and extremely rude. Avoid this trip as it’s a total nightmare

Would give 0 if able

Would give 0 if able If you have no issues, 4 of the 6 holidays we have had with them were excellent, reps, hotels and tour. BUT when there is a problem ZERO interest, North Cyprus last year, Croatia this year = abysmal and ZERO interest from "customer service" appalling reps that their manager actively defends!! appalling hotels/food/bar service that they claim they will react to "if able" I have informed them, and that we will not be travelling again = ZERO interest. STAY CLEAR.

Two weeks in Northern Cyprus

Am on a two week trip to Northern Cyprus with rsd. The first five days was what I expected, many hours of bus travel, a knowledgeable guide, a lovely group of people travelling and an ok hotel. We spent two days at a second allocated hotel which has really seen better days. It had a lovely garden and beach, a beautiful sea view from the room, but the bathroom flooded when we showered and the drain smelt bad. The third hotel is a huge hotel resort on the beach. Be aware that the price is stated is for bed and breakfast. For evening meals and drinks you pay extra. Information on flights is sent two weeks before travel and you won't be told which hotels you will be staying in until just before you arrive. Tip: If you aren't happy with your allocated room ask to move. In the second hotel we were unlucky to have a room facing the street where people dried their washing and were grudgingly moved. In the third hotel we were first given a small room with a tiny balcony but were happily given a bigger room the next day when we asked. Room allocation appears to be quite random, some people get huge rooms, others tiny ones. Would I travel with rsd again, I'm really not sure. I found the hours of bus travel criss crossing the island tiring and often tedious, although we did see some very interesting places. I was not impressed at having to ask to change rooms twice, hence the 3 stars.

Do NOT fall for this!

I recently travelled with RSD to Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro with an eight day extra relaxation in a dreadful hotel in Montenegro. The bait of an apparently cheap holiday is largely a con. We enjoyed seeing the wonderful Dalmation fortified cities, but the second week was horrid, in a dirty, unhygienic hotel at the bottom of a steep gulley with very poor food and a noisy overcrowded dining room. We were dragged round a so called "traditional carpet knotting factory", which was actually just a carpet warehouse, a so-called jewellery atelier, which was just a showroom and a leather atelier, which was again a warehouse/saleroom and we were subjected to hard sell. By this time, all of the party were totally turned off and given to laughter or dismissive comments. I got rid of one persistent salesperson by telling her that the fur on the coats was unacceptable in the UK as "even the Queen stopped wearing furs". My advice is "Caveat Emptor". These tours are not what they are advertised to be. By the way, exactly the same invitations, identical word-for-word, about carpet, jewellery and leather jackets is still in the next tours being advertised.

We booked the holiday to Croatia/Bosnia…

We booked the holiday to Croatia/Bosnia and Herzegovina & Montenegro. We returned May 24th 2023. We had a really enjoyable time. The trip was hectic for the first week but it well organised and we saw so much. The hotel on the beach in Montenegro was a perfect to relax after such a hectic first week.

You get what you pay for. Not perfect but great value

Just returned last Wednesday from the Croatia tour. This was our third holiday with RSD. Unfortunately the weather in the first week was diabolical. Very difficult to listen to enthusiastic tour guides with rain streaming down the streets and only saved by our Poundland plastic macs. But unfortunately RSD can't control the weather.I a ) All of the hotels in the whole fortnight were excellent especially the last one on the last night in Dubrovnik which was truly 5 star. b)The first week of touring the country was quite interesting but we tended to arrive late in the evenings at the various hotels to enable us to have much social time with our companion holiday makers. c) The start times in the morning didn't really allow you much time to relax either On one day we had to be at the coach for 7.00 am !!! d) Boras, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and kept us well informed of the history of the countries we passed through. Especially in relations to the recent war. Our coach driver was also excellent especially on the winding narrow mountain roads. e) Once again, as with all RSD tours we had to visit the obligatory carpet, jewellery and leather warehouses. Although I'll have to say that I was more than pleased that the leather jacket I bought in the UK for £70 was valued by them at 400 euros !!!! f) The free second week was spent at the Asur Beach Resort. We had a great room with a lounge and separate TV. As well as one in the bedroon The infinity pool was closed until the fourth day of our tour. The food was ok but a bit predictable but you could each as much as you wanted. We didn't pay the extra £90 each for the all inclusive package but made our Iunch time snack at breakfast. Just take some foodbags with you. There were quite a few local restaurants which were used by some of our party who didn't pay the £139 for the evening meal package. g) Although there was a 15 Euro chathe for live music in the evening, livee music was provided free on the forecourt outside reception on most nights On the whole we had a very enjoyable time. You get what you pay for and two weeks holiday for just over £1000 with all flights, hotels, transport, guides, tours and breakfast ain't bad. Thanks RSD

Very very disappointed

Very very disappointed. I've been on two RSD trips in the past (China & Cappadocia) which were great. But this one was awful. I went on the Croatia trip with a friend as a belated (due to covid) 60th birthday celebration. The tour was OK the first week, except for more time spent being aggressively 'sold to' to in the carpet & jewellery factories than the historic places, and I got rather pee'd off with paying £299 single supplement to be stuck in a room the equivalent of a very noisy broom cupboard with a grand view of the staff quarters complete with their underwear hanging out and a bank of 9 aircon units, whilst people who hadn't paid the supplement got a view of the pool. Over half the coach had diarrhoea and vomiting - 1 poor chap into plastic bags on the coach. On the 2nd week, at the disgusting Hotel Azul - I have endless complaints - it was way worse than a Butlins camp. 1) It looked like a 1960s building site - red ticker tape torn and draping around pools, buildings, gardens etc. 2) Stray dogs and cats everywhere on hotel site 3) Beach utterly disgusting full of plastic bottles, 4) Staff snatched our glasss whilst we were eating at 8pm in the restaurant rudely telling me it was closing time 5) Aircon unit in room did not work at all 6) Hotel was full of literally hundreds of schools kids for the week on a noisy trip - with constant cheering & noise 7) 90% of the food was identical for Breakfast, Lunch and Supper - - cold meats/cheese fruit (tho hotel video shows shell seafood - never saw any) 8) Every single bit of entertainment had to be paid for from £10 to £15 (I have never been to a hotel that did that). 9) Only 1 pool (indoor) out of the advertised 6 open - and it's terrace area was really dirty and disgusting 10) Broken wiring and cables, paving stones littered the site 11) All beds had incontinence plastic sheets that was super hot and sticky 12) When it rained the roadways from the blocks to the restaurant turned into canals 13) The general bar area doubled as the reception, and daily was rammed full of people and suitcases leaving and coming - not at all relaxing 14) The bedroom rug was disgusting dirty grey and gritty and dusty 15) The safe didn't work and we gave up after the reception promising twice to replace the batteries 16) No tea/coffee facilities in the room, and if you take back a coffee or glass from the restaurant, they never get removed from the room by the cleaner 17) Hotel doesn't do tonic water 18) Had to also go get our own drinks and food, however when locals turned up they got table service 19) No spa, even tho advertised 20) No snorkelling despite being advertise - well you can snorkel, but its just shallow sand for miles - so zero life to see 21) The one open pool (indoor) had loud disco music on all day/night presumably because the 2 bored pool guards liked it that way 22) Around the indoor pool were various abandoned drinks glasses with mildew and mouldy rainwater in - that never appear to get cleaned dup Then just when things got better on the last night in Valmar Dubrovnik, my single room supplement got me the room right next to (sounded like it was inside) the bar and reception, with its zero noise control from the ceramic tiles everywhere, and people shouting goodnight loudly to each other outside my door. The light wouldn't turn off whatever switch you pressed, and the door wouldn't close behind me. After 3 complaints to reception I was given (thankfully) a quiet dingy room in the basement, next to the where the housekeeping staff kept their trolley's and accessed by the very tatty service lift. All in all ... I can honestly say I now need a proper holiday!!! But it won't be with RSD.
