Review summary
Rightmove has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about communication and customer service.
Find the agents in your area and email them direct- much easier than Rightmove
Right move is set up to sell financial services (like mortgage products) and promote estate agencies that pay for additional promotion.
Registration is painful, taking 5 mins to wade through their security protocols
I would give minus stars if possible.
Our letting agent uses Rightmove referencing: So the Rightmove rep, Craig called my wife and within 30 seconds insisted on access to her bank account (?!). Then, when she declined and offered the usual payslips and statements, the rep said, "You want this property, get over it and swallow the pill".
I have never heard such unprofessional nonsense in my entire life. I am absolutely insensed and who in their right mind would give bank account access to a complete stranger in Ireland???
Who the hell do these people think they are? Does anyone trust 'Rightmove' with their personal financial data, you'd have to be insane.
I was due to move to a property let by Wrights and they used Rightmove for referencing.
Employer needed further information (an employee number) before they could provide the reference and requested this from Rightmove.
Rightmove just sat on this and did not ask us for this information which delayed matters. Only found out after chasing them. Would they have said anything at all had we not chased? Even when Rightmove finally got the reference, not one bit of compassion shown or willingness to expediate even though they were aware we had to be out of the property. Emails were sent asking them to speed up (to which they did not even bother to reply to) and calls made which fell on deaf ears. All in all, took just over 3 weeks before they confirmed all checks passed.
What I found most annoying about them is they simply do not seem to care if you could loose your move date, that you have to be out of your current property and you would have incurred moving costs.
To then add insult to injury after a stressful time, they had the cheek to send me emails and texts about how they could assist with moving broadband and energy suppliers. They do this by including this in the referencing passed confirmation email link and they kept resending this and also sent me text messages. This is despite me completing the initial form to say I DID NOT want to use their services. This to me is direct marketing and if I had not been so drained after my move as a result of Wrights (who were also stressful to deal with) and Rightmove, I would have made a complaint to ICO about them sending me marketing without my consent.
If you are going through referencing and have a move out date, just make sure to chase them up if you haven't heard from them within a few days to a week, and keep chasing no matter how much they try to fob you off on the phone.
The woman that assisted me is named Aimee. Iβm not great with reviews but if im here for a rating then I rate Aimee 10/10 and 100/100 my experience was smooth from start to finish and Aimee was on job! I had some issues with my boss finding time for me and Aimee was patient the whole and had no problem checking in with me! I felt like she was on my side!
The actual search engine itself is OK but I think it's absolutely disgraceful the way certain estate agents are allowed to keep properties on the website for sale when they have already sold them it's very misleading and unprofessional if sold then take them off
it used to be my favourite search engine until a few days ago , but now they have introduced a nag pop up that will drive you insane , not just once but every time you click on a property, so now i use on the market , some bright spark at rightmove should get the sack .
