There were a couple of false starts with two allocated drivers dropping out which complicated matters for me as I had to change the collection date with the ebay seller twice. However, this was a much cheaper service than any other courier and the driver to drove to a remote part of Wales was excellent. He kept me well informed about times and the rather large sofa-bed was delivered without incident. I would definitely recommend Porta and will use them again.

Courier did change after not showing up, but new courier had good communication and picked up and delivered item same day. Reasonable cost and like that they are trying to make less journeys to reduce pollution

P45252. Courier Jatinder. My mother wanted to send an item of furniture to me at the weekend and I had no idea how to do this as it’s not something I’ve had to do before! It was travelling from Chichester to Barnsley so quite a long way!!! I settled on ‘Porta’ as it’s really easy to get a quote and you don’t need the dimensions or weight of the item and you pay as soon as you’ve put the details in so, you don’t have to worry about money. You just specify where you want it to go and how many people it would take to move and if you need it the same day. Everything was really well organised and I received information about the courier 2 days before. On the day, Porta emailed with a photo to say the item was on my way. My Mother called me to tell me that they had arrived ‘on the dot’ at 8am. The item was well taken care of and delivered the same day, by two lovely gentlemen from London. I’m really grateful as the furniture is a family heirloom. It’s been an excellent service and I can’t thank Porta and the couriers enough.

My items were picked up and dropped off safely, driver was friendly and helpful. We had the tel number of the driver, but I think a little more communication would have been good as delivery was 10.45pm we had been waiting at our shop since 7pm which was the aprrox. Delivery time. Maybe some sort of tracking so customers can see where the driver is?

It all started with a solid wood bed frame that was definitely too long for my car and some eye watering quotes for collection and delivery. The patron saint of sticky situations that is Google provided the name Porta and the blurb suggested it had come into being through similar frustrating circumstances to mine. Over the last couple of months they have delivered 3 beautiful baths, some exquisite vanity units, more bed frames than I can remember and a rather lovely fridge freezer is due later this week. The website is easy to use and does what you want it to do and only requires straight forward information; what the item is, where it is, where does it want to go to and when and then a price is provided. In an increasingly complicated world it has refined the process and is refreshingly straightforward. You don’t need the exact postcode to get an idea on costings, so you have the information before buying an item and if you are not in a hurry for the item you can book a slot over the next few weeks which is then cheaper. You can also request two people if the item is heavy or bulky. There were a couple of glitches, but I have used them nearly 15 times in the last couple of months, so not at all surprising. The first order the driver had to cancel for serious family reasons but they found a replacement within an acceptable time frame. Portas ethos seems to be to always find a workable solution, which I appreciate. Their communication is excellent, swift, effective and via WhatsApp. You can also speak to a person easily if you prefer. I highly recommend Porta, give them a go you will be pleasantly surprised.

Generallly a great service, communication with the courier could have been a bit better. Being able to track the vehicle would be a good improvement.

Really easy, efficient, fantastic communication!

I used Porta to make an collection from an auction house in Kent and deliver it to me in London. Everyone I encountered was polite and seemed to want to move things and solve problems. Communication flowed well. Pricing was fair. I would recommend them and will use them again.

Was very unsure about this company as its new and there are not a lot of reviews. I was selling something on ebay and the buyer wanted to send a courier. Naturally I was sceptical and hesitant that it was a scam. The driver arrived in his beaten up transit van but was a pleasant man. I was given a code that (yay) matched with ebay. The item arrived to its destination a few hours later (up North). So this is a legitimate company and was effortless. I like its ethicalness and simplicity and I would use them again with no hesitations.

This company keeps you informed and puts your worries to rest for piece of mind. 10 out 10 will use again David
