★☆☆☆☆ — Across the country? Apparently. Another 123 miles? You’re on your own.
PODS will transport my household belongings across the country, but won’t deliver them from Carlsbad to El Centro—a distance of roughly 123 miles. Their delivery coverage has a glaring hole, and I’m the one left dealing with the consequences.
I’m a disabled veteran. Because PODS won’t complete this trip, I now have to rent a vehicle, unload everything from the container where it’s already packed, load it into the rental, drive through the steep mountain pass into El Centro, and unload everything again.
That means additional expense, physical strain, and an entire moving operation I have to arrange myself. My belongings are already in a moving container, yet I have to take them out and move them another way. The absurdity speaks for itself.
A company offering moving and storage services should understand how consequential a delivery limitation like this is. For someone with a disability, it creates far more than an inconvenience.
Before you put your household belongings into a PODS container, verify that they will deliver to your exact destination. Don’t assume a company that can move your possessions across the country can also handle the last 123 miles.
In my experience, PODS has turned the final leg of my move into an expensive, exhausting do-it-yourself job. I would not recommend them.
