The overall experience from the staff, entertainment, food, drinks and excursions where excellent.
We had a lovely time on MSC Virtuosa, despite some negative reviews, it’s a lovely ship, clean and modern and hard working pleasant staff. It’s passenger capacity is large so yes you can expect some rude folk who can’t possible wait in a queue for all of 30seconds to get an slice of pizza or 5mine to get a drink and of course the sun bed hoggers and those who must have the same seat each day but we had a great time. We found the food overall very good and lots of variety. Yes there were some nights in the MDR it was a bit bland and boring and also repetitive. Speciality restaurants all very good and great value for money. Drinks package is great. Embarkation and debarkation flawless. The ship shuttles are expensive and for places like Valencia you have no option to use. We are happy to walk a few miles but there may be some passengers who can’t. We upgraded to Aurea and found it to be worthwhile, purely just not to have to go to the MDR, access to the thermal spa area was an added bonus. Loved my morning swim, even on the chilly days. The buffet is busy at peak times but it’s mirror image each side and if you go to the back it’s far calmer and plenty tables. Go with an open mind and you’ll have a lovely time.
Great value, beautiful ships, quality customer service and helpful, fun staff!

Nice friendly staff. Clean and well kept ship. Must provide soap in the soap despenser.
Our MSC cruise far exceeded our expectations for comfort, staff competence and friendliness and quality and variety of food In our opinion the cooking and presentation exceeded in many instances some of the top London restaurants The service at all times was superb - fast, experienced and friendly and always checking if we needed anything It all made for a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable holiday
Ourselves and our disabled son really enjoyed our cruise came back yesterday. We booked two more while onboard for next year,,we managed to book interconnecting rooms which makes life a lot easier for us either way the additional room plus our son gets a bit more privacy.
The MSC Davina was immaculate and the staff were amazing. The food in our allocated restaurant was delicious and the selection of drinks and bars was fantastic. The size of the ship was just too big for us and the amount of people. Some nationalities were just very loud and extremely rude.
The good: Well run ship. Staff have been well trained, are polite and put in an effort. Like other cruises in this bracket there's something for everyone. Activities and the staff that run them are decent. The bad (minor issues): Buffet options arent very diverse: heavily western options of pizza, pasta, salad, bread, European fruits, cakes, small Vegan selection. Staff were clueless about anything non-MSC in the ports, for example local tips and conveniences (where luggage could be left after disembarking if you have a late flight, or money saver tips if you dont want the excursion). The very bad (and why I will recommend not to go on MSC to my friends): Rubbish customer service. The telephone agent signed us up to an additional internet package we didnt want, which we asked to be refunded. They said it was refunded but we called four times over a month to get the money (they never paid us back). We asked for our rooms to be close together because we have a large family with many kids who are between 4 and 7. (Mummy with kids and Daddy with other kids in another room is the only option given their age.) The booking agent said yes no problem it's been tagged for you... But the rooms were miles apart. To get toothpaste I had go with the whole family down three corridors and through a public lobby. On the ship there was probably nothing that could be done but the service desk gave the couldnt care less attitude. Explaining nicely the pain in the ass we were having to hold a *family* holiday across three corridors resulted in a promise to speak to the manager and get back to me, via phone or a written note under the door if we did not pick up the phone. Nothing happened. Zero poops given.
First time with MSC, don’t believe the bitter reviews, my 19th cruise, certainly not my last with MSC. A better experience and price than other lines.
