Review summary
Mint Mobile has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and reliable, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.
The phone plan for Mint has been great.
But then i decided to buy a new phone with them.
How dare I do that! Worst company ever.
The phone never even made it to me and i was charged $500. I never got the phone and they refused any support at all. Confirmed delivered by Fedex to H.H.H. THAT IS NOT MY NAME. it was clearly stolen.
I purchased insurance but i never even got the phone to activate it.
Im tired of getting danced around.
I want my money back.
I have wasted an hour in Europe trying to get WiFi calling to work. It has worked on and off and now Mint doesn't even recognize my number. I renewed (annual) on the condition they make the feature work from Europe and they promised. Now I've been on the phone twice, wasting 40 min on two diff calls with two reps, promising they would fix it. f Mint and they'd get a MINUS 1 if that were an option
There should be 2 separate reviews ,one for the service which seems good so far and the second for customer service website and app which totally SUCKS! Been trying all day to log in and it won't recognize either of my mint numbers so I have. O access to my accounts. Customer service is clueless. Spent hrs on the phone with them . They can't help. So now I'm stuck with no account access and no way to change payment method since I do not give payment information over the phone verbally
I just want to say, THE QUALITY OF MINT IS TERRIBLE FOR ME. I live in north Seattle, and I pay for the premium mint plan, and I'm only able to make calls and use data for about six hours per 24 day. During business hours, I rarely am even able to make a call l. Maybe there's something unique about my situation, but my advice is don't use mint if you live in Seattle and need a reliabke network.
It’s okay, I got the 3 month unlimited and $15 a month and it was good speeds and coverage but it renewed to $40/month for 3 months all paid upfront. Despite it being “unlimited” they slow your speeds to like 3g after 35gbs
I love being able to not spend so much, I'm always so strapped for money and my 12 month plan makes it easier on me when I have the money at the end of the year to spend for the next instead of spending 80bucks a month on a regular phone plan. Mints great with price and a lot of times my Fiancé doesn't have reception in certain places with at&t, where I can get reception with mint
I love that I can take some time to pay my bill. I’ve been struggling financially so the three months no bill really helps. Thanks for being awesome I love this service.
If I could give this company a negative score I would!
They're advertisement of a 3mo/$45 plan and promises of being on one of the fastest networks sounded great! I went online to sign up for an eSim (as the website stated my phone would be compatible). 4 days later my phone failed to make/receive calls, texts, and would not load anything needing the internet unless I switched to WiFi. After literally 10hrs of trying to get it fixed and being disconnected from online live support agents, I was able to reach an agent who told me my phone was in fact NOT compatible with eSim and needed a physical sim card! Question 1. Why did their system approve the eSim transaction and process if my phone is not compatible?! Thankfully the agent refunded my transaction, assured me my sim card could be overnighted, and told me she'd put me through to the sales team to get a physical sim card. The sales agent came online and told me I needed to purchase a plan (Q 2. Why refund me if I need to repurchase?) and that I would have to pay $75 because I wasn't considered a new customer anymore! Cordially I contested that I was, in fact, a new cuatomer, relayed to her what happened, and requested the price I paid to begin with. After about 20 minutes of this, I requested to speak to a manager. The rep became combative, stating their manager would say the same thing, stated there was no manager to transfer to, and argued with me. She then proceeded to tell me that she processed the transaction (WITHOUT my approval). At this point, I told her I did not want to work with her anymore and to please have a manager call me on my boyfriend's phone. About 25-30 minutes later I received a call from the same rep I had just told I did not want to deal with..they then transferred me to her supervisor. I proceeded to tell her all that had happened (for the third time), also relaying that the first rep assured me the sim card would be overnighted. The supervisor told me that they couldn't overnight the card and said I would receive it in 2 business days OR 3-5 business days. I asked why I couldnt get it overnighted and about the confusion on the multiple shipping days and for either I didn't receive a straight answer. I suspected I wasn't speaking to a supervisor so when I requested some type of proof that I was speaking to a supervisor, (I asked for an email with her credentials, a phone number with her diredirect extension, etc), she did not have any way of providing such information- leading me to believe the rep previously simply asked her call center neighbor to make the call to me. I say this because even when asking for a possible extension for her she replied, confused, "An extension? What's that?" To me, any one working in a call center knows what that is...ESPECIALLY a Supervisor. I did get her name at least. By the end of the call, I had to pay the $75 and was still told my card would be there in 2 days or 3-5 business days. This all happened December 14th
Today is Christmas eve, 10 days later. When I first sign up it was for the unlimited plan and when they resigned me, thought I was on the same one that I originally paid for. Well today my service was snail slow and after a while I finally looked into the plan I have and was shocked to find out I have the 5gb plan and had to pay an extra $20 for 3TBS!
I'm disgusted! Between the lack of professionalism, the worst customer service I've ever experienced (toward a new customer at that!), the lack of clear communication, the spotty service, and unfulfilled promises I am fed up!
I hope this saves EVERYONE from signing up with Mint Mobile! Save your money, time, and sanity!
Phone went down on Christmas Eve. Has been down 5 hours. Customer service asshats blamed it on a downed cell tower, when every other carrier is working. Then Customer Service moron blamed on the previous provider blocking service. Called the previous provider and they say it's impossible as phone was unblocked a year ago to start phone service with Mint.
They offer an International pass, DO NOT buy it. They have no service in much of Europe and Asia. It's a scam and if you are on MINT they block your phone from making calls or text over WI-FI while traveling out of the country.
Worst cell phone company that I used. There is no signal in my area at all. I called them and they said my phone is locked, turn off the wifi calling, manager is not available and their signal is not good at all.
These guys are just liars. I called the manufacturer of my phone and they said my phone is 100% unlocked. I turned off the wifi calling and the call immediately dropped. They also lied that the manager is not available. I told them I have 12 hours to wait for the manager, then I got through.
It is worth to try them, but if the signal is not good, move on, move to a different company.
Mint is a scam, don’t let the disaster happened to me happen to you. I am with Mint for 2 years, I suppose unlimited service I had, and yet had and have one nightmare after another. I had an emergency yesterday when I found out my data is zero. since it was an emergency, I had to buy another $10 to be able to take care of the emergency. I never made a contract, but they refused to refund my money. I will keep informing people in order to not get into a compromising situation like me. No Mint service, they are disaster
