I felt listened too when I was explaining everything I was not rushed to answer.
Medigold Health has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate professional and service, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.

Took time and really listened to me,
I felt listened too when I was explaining everything I was not rushed to answer.
Not very helpful and not understanding of the issues presented to them. I never wish to speak to them again as we’re very rude on the phone. They use their inaccurate reporting to judge what the health issue is. It’s not helpful or factual.
Our client relationship manager Madina is extremely approachable and friendly. She responds to emails in a timely manner and does her best to resolve queries for us. Our experience of Medigold in general is good but can be a little hit and miss. We have noticed attempts to improve this when we have provided feedback.
Really useful webinar to understand ADHD and how to support our colleagues. As a manager I was very curious to learn more to support my team at best and this webinar was spot on. Kathryn was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend.
Fantastic webinar, really informative and interactive session. Found this very beneficial and will attend more if they are provided
He was fantastic, really clear and gave really simple explanations and advice!
I wanted to say thank you so much to all the team for your help and support, for tolerating my constant calls and emails and for progressing my case so quickly. In particular to Elle-Jay Poole and the admin team and Dr Glynn Evans who kindly got to my case almost immediately after his annual leave when he probably had a backlog. Your kind and helpful service has made a massive difference to my mental health and my family's financial security. I can't thank you enough.
My employer uses Medigold for OH, and refered me, as I had 2 yes 2 "incidences", 1st call, they did not call 100% never called and yet they are charging my employers, 2nd call, was late, and most of the questions was NOT related, the caller "professional" when responding to my answers with "cool" "that's cool" is not how I would expect a "professional" to respond, the whole thing is a farce, I can't believe a well know company that I work for would.use such a poor company and the reviews for medigold is shocking,
My employer use Medigold for OH services. On applying and being turned down for Ill Health Retirement, following being off work for 5 years due to long term health conditions I have learnt Medigold hold no interest in supporting employees with long term health conditions to secure their pension early. Instead, they will make an inaccurate and misleading report about you to justify why your pension cant be released early. They dismiss important information and do not weigh up the evidence according to balance of probabilities. They are so confident in their ability to make a decision about your future, they feel they can do this just by conducting a paper assessment, without speaking to the unwell person. I, like another person who posted a review on here, have also seen the same language and sentences used in medical reports which makes you question whether you are assessed as an individual and in a unbiased way. It feels like there is an onus on the employee to prove, beyond all reasonable doubt, they could not maintain their job permanently until normal pension age. I am requesting a reconsideration, however, I hold little hope of the outcome. It is concerning that when you are suffering from ill health, you have to go through a process with such a power inbalance and Medigold control the narrative without speaking to the unwell individual.
Great session with insightful discussion. Really enjoyed the session which taught us how to administer the drug tests and gave us some great insights into how to understand substance misuse.
The trainer was condescending, thought he was funny and was broaching on inappropriate. Training could have been done in half the time. Medigold have never addressed an issue I have the breathalyser. I would never use them again.
UPDATE AFTER MEDIGOLD RESPONSE I have now been diagnosed by a clinical psychiatrist with: • Recurrent depressive disorder (ICD-11: 6A71). Since adolescence. • Currently experiencing a severe depressive episode (ICD-11: 6A71.3) • Complex post-traumatic stress disorder (cPTSD) (ICD-11: 6B41). Since childhood. • Emotionally unstable personality disorder (ICD-11: 6D10). I remain distressed by the original medical retirement report & feel strongly more compassion/awareness should have been exercised. It drove me to become suicidal after all. HOWEVER, I now realise my mental illness is in part responsible for my strong reaction. I also appreciate that the original IRMP could only base his assessment on formal diagnoses. At least now, I have that. Although I've had to pay £3K for the privilege. The damage from that initial report has been done to me, but I now know exactly what I'm dealing with in terms of my mental disabilities and have recommended treatment. Hopefully, now you have the correct evidence, I will get a more appropriate response to my appeal. All I ask is that your IRMPs please be mindful of the devastating impact words can have on a fragile mind. I would recommend you ALWAYS see someone with mental ill health in person before writing any type of report. While the OH Consultant may not have been able to diagnose me, he would have witnessed firsthand my mood & behaviour difficulties. I think his report would have been more informed as a result. Thank you for your response. I look forward to hearing from the Pensions Team. It is 9 months since I submitted my application. ORIGINAL REVIEW It took three months before any action was taken on my July 2024 application for early (deferred member) West Midlands Pension Fund (LGPS) retirement on mental ill health. And only after my former employer complained. Unfortunately, the Consultant in OH who prepared my medical retirement report showed a complete lack of understanding of mental ill health. He didn't even ask for a face-to-face meeting (which I offered) and ignored critical information I had supplied, including medical records. For someone already mentally fragile and suicidal, it was devastating to have my genuine lack of capability and functionality so obviously dismissed. Anyone who meets me can tell I have major issues and I have always been totally honest about my predicament, sharing deeply personal information. I’ve suffered depression and anxiety for over 30 years and been in crisis, under the community mental health team, since last summer. I undertook trauma stabilisation therapy last year and am due to start 7-week group therapy for emotional dysregulation. I see a Mind counsellor weekly and my Psychiatric Nurse monthly (or sooner if I am spiralling). No mention of my repeated, deep-rooted trauma AT ALL in my first report. I have regular panic attacks, struggle to sleep most nights and/or have nightmares/flashbacks, so wake up drained to begin with. Getting up and dressed at all is a challenge. I don't like mixing with people, have lost confidence in my abilities (including driving, which has resulted in stress diarrhea). I had made major mistakes and demonstrated poor judgment in the run up to closing my freelance business (all documented in my claim). I have not worked since July 2024 and done ad hoc copywriting only in the 5 years preceding. Despite this, the Consultant stated that in his opinion I was not permanently unfit to go back to my 2014 high pressure, high responsibility role as Director of Marketing for a major university, a senior manager in charge of 80+ staff and multimillion pound budgets. Really? Yesterday I had to beg my son to make sure he guide me over to his friends' mums at an 18th birthday party. I was terrified I'd walk into the room and get so panicked/confused, I wouldn't spot anyone I know. I managed 2.5 hours 'in company' before he had to take me home. I am currently appealing and getting a private specialist psychiatric assessment to support my application. The 1 star is for the pensions administration team - not the OH Consultant. Once my case was active, the administration team has been helpful, professional and responsive in its dealings with me. The Pensions Director has also given me clear guidance on the psychiatric information needed for my appeal. I will also be having a face-to-face meeting this time. Reading these reviews, I don't hold out much hope of a positive outcome for me. Maybe for my former employer. It certainly seems that Medigold is all about minimising the cost to employers, rather than what is genuinely in the best interests of the individuals concerned. Let's hope they prove me wrong. Watch this space...
Possibly the worst company I have ever dealt with in my time on this planet. Just pure incompetence time after time and far too many to list for example they cut and paste health reports from historic ones from a previous OHU to use as their own findings but couldn't even be bothered to change the font. Record and keep everything you do with these people they appear to be a law unto themselves. They won't answer emails and sometimes took months to reply. My medical retirement took over 18 months despite it being a pretty clear cut case. Every time you call or communicate it's a different person, I spoke/communicated with over 25 different people about my case and 4 different DRs it was bordering impossible to speak with anyone at times with just an email portal and different contact every time. I really can't communicate how bad this company is/was in my own situation, when I needed support the most as I'm not well and my health was deteriorating all the time, they offered nothing but blocks in the road.
Got reffered to these clowns by work, 1st time waited for a call... no call came through, 2nd time no call again, found out my phone screened the calls due to potential fraud, called them within 10 minutes of when my appointment was and was told it's my fault and to arrange another appointment.
If I could give 0, I would ! Untrustworthy, unethical practices and seemingly not accountable to anyone. They don't follow correct policy and procedures. They send misleading misinformation. They don't respond to e mails . They have no duty of care to people. How the Civil Service has chosen this company to manage their Staff's health screening is beyond me - unless they both have an agreed agenda and code of practice - to reject applications at all costs. Be prepared for a prolonged battle in any dealings with this company.
Shocking. They booked appointments and cancelled them several times, I am now awaiting confirmation that an appointment 'may' go ahead today due to an I.T. issue. There is a real lack of professionalism and a sense of chaos that surrounds this company. I have no faith in them at all. They tried to re-book appointments outside the time scale specified. Avoid.
We had a rocky start, but have really picked up since the summer. Our account managers have been awesome and supportive. The service has improved and helped our org.
Great Service, extremely professional. Our contact Lucy Carey - Partner Relationship Manager very helpful and knowledgeable, was able to quickly direct me to relevant lead within the business to ensure a speedy service for my member of staff. Process from start to finish in under a week over the Xmas Period. Highly satisfied.
Medina Farruk navigated the medigold protect portal which was very useful. Medina was very knowledgeable about the systems and was able to answer all of my questions. When going into a meeting via Teams and seeing someone so cheerful on screen like Medina really set a good tone to the meeting and for me the rest of the day. I will have no hesitation in having to liaise with Medina as very approachable.

Our account manager Denise Coleman is always available for any queries we may have, and ensures we get the most out of the services Medigold offers. We look forward to continuing to work with Medigold for our OH requirements.
