Extremely Disappointed with their Unfair Practices

I booked a free course with Flexible Learning by mistake, realising almost immediately that it wasn’t the right level for me. I contacted them the very next day to cancel — before accessing any materials or participating in anything — only to be told I’d be charged a £125 “admin fee” to cancel. While I understand there was a clause about this fee for non-completion, it’s completely unreasonable to enforce it when the course was clearly booked in error and cancellation was requested promptly. I didn’t benefit from the course in any way, and yet they’re still demanding payment. Worse still, the course was advertised as free, but this cancellation charge wasn’t made clear upfront. It feels misleading and unfair — and their refusal to show any flexibility or understanding shows a complete lack of customer care. I would not recommend Flexible Learning to anyone based on this experience. If you make an honest mistake, don’t expect any compassion — just a bill.

Amazing

My tutor was amazing, patient and knew how to teach! my mental health was not grate when I started but my manager and tutor was amazing and so supportive, I finished level 2 hair dressing and am now onto level 3 and honestly loving it. Definitely recommend! well definitely recommend the camden branch all tutors are amazing kind and patient but in a constructive way. Had the best experience in level 2 hairdressing.

Really good

Really good, but my course was basic and I didn't need support so unsure of that side of things.

FRAUD - AVOID!!

I am absolutely disgusted in the way I have been treated. As I was browsing for a safeguarding course, I came across learning curve. I have done many courses online and never had any problems - however when I logged in I had realised the course was over a longer period than expected. When I asked to cancel I was told that I had to pay a cancellation fee of £125. For a FREE course that was booked by mistake? I contacted them immediately to make them aware that I didn't want to go ahead with the course and they still insisted that the £125 MUST be paid. There is clearly a massive flaw in their system as you would expect to be able to cancel a FREE course without any issues, especially as the cancellation was immediate. I am still yet to be given a solution.

Rachel Morland helped me with a query…

Rachel Morland helped me with a query had about a course that I completed in 2014. I asked Rachel if she was able to locate a certificate for me, she explained that it might be possible but told me that there could be a chance it wouldn’t be there but that she would find out for me. Rachel did, and emailed first thing the next day with the certificate and asked if there was anything else she could help with course wise. I asked and she found out. Lovely customer service. Thank you Rachel

The learning curve is a fantastic…

The learning curve is a fantastic opportunity to work at your own pace with level 2 and 3 courses. I had a a tutor and I used the SENCO team as well, they were fantastic the support I got was excellent, they checked in every week, making sure I understood what was expected of me, I did the level 2 in Autism and really enjoyed it. I will try to do level 3 in September

This college is seriously the worst

This college is seriously the worst! The worst in EVERY way - you email management to enquire and complain, they don't reply. Very poor communication and client service! It's taken me the entire year to "fight" with the Learner Travel department to get my daughter's bus fare reimbursements, and then they reply saying my daughter's attendance is below 76%, when it's been 100%. I then email proof of bus tickets and they still don't reimburse us. It took 9 months to finally get their uniforms. Jill Holland is the manageress of the Derby Branch and Alana Disney is the business manageress - each time I send emails, not either of them bothers to follow up on requests and complaints. They keep getting the attendance registers wrong and then my daughter doesn't receive her bus fare compensation because she is marked under 75 % attendance! You can't phone the college either, as no one EVER answers. And then when you email them, there is no reply. I have read some of the reviews on here and some have said they have not even received their qualifying certificates, one is still waiting after 18 months! I am starting to get worried for when this course ends as my daughter will be attending another college and she will need proof of certification. She will definitely not be returning to this college for her follow-up courses!

Ghosted and jerked around

I had decided to participate in a path2apprenticeship course because they had said that after the course they'd give support in finding employment or apprenticeships. After the course they had ghosted me and without me badgering them about it I wouldn't have even received my certificate. I have complained about the lack of support for the past two months, it took 1.5 months to just get an apology and a promise of support only to still receive none. Now is honestly not the time to be playing with people's time and energy when it comes to employment. The course itself is just the basics necessary to operate in the preferred workplace, my course was on logistics.

Sending me spam marketing emails I…

Sending me spam marketing emails I never asked to receive and I NEVER said it was ok for them to send me marketing emails And I have never taken any courses with them, did look at information for some courses with them (and YES I made sure the box was NOT ticked for them to send me marketing emails etc) but decided NOT to use them for any, and if other people have done similar it would explain why they (Learning Curve Group) are sending UNWANTED SPAM marketing emails to try gain more users/customers As of now there is no way on earth I would ever use Learning Curve Group - even if it was the only place offering a course I wanted or needed I would find an alternative solution Edit: Reply to the LCG Reply My review here speaks for itself there is no need for me to expand on anything Simple course of action for LCG to take would be to STOP sending marketing emails to people who do not want them and did not agree to have any sent It is not rocket science

Not happy

Not happy. I did the level 3 counselling course. I know the answers I sent in were correct and sufficient but I had constant resubmission requests inorder to bulk up my answers. Each time I was inundated with prompts for extra tutorials. It does not say these are free so you automatically assume you would be charged. I had no problems doing the level two with my local college and after reading the reviews today, I feel Learning curve are over compensating because students have left negative reviews. I won't be using them again. The answers I have were looked over by an outside Tutor and we're seen to be sufficient. Yet their tutor constantly sent my assessments back to be redone. Even though the answers were correct. Because the course was free, it looks like they want you to fail or give up inorder to get £143 out of you, which they ask for if you don't complete the course. I won't be using Learning Curve again. I never had any issues with my local college when I did the NVQ 2.
