Excellent service / experience so far - shame about the Medical Screening.

Obviously the test of any insurance policy is when you have to claim and thankfully we have not had to. However the "journey so far" has been good. Quickly got through to someone, really helpful, competitive price and seemed good level of cover for the money (opted for Gold). Really good experience so far and very impressed so far. My only perhaps negative comment relates to the medical screening which I found unnecessarily intrusive and disproportionate. There are several "have you ever...." type questions which meant that we were disclosing injuries that happened 25 years ago, yet had cleared up with no ongoing issues. They also wanted to know EVERYTHING that had happened in last 5 years where seen a GP/ had medication/ treatment etc. This seems disproportionate when again all has cleared up/ no on-going issues or further treatment with the GP. It is also not always an easy task to remember absolutely everything in a 5 year period, yet you feel under pressure that if you accidently forgot something it could void the cover. This contrasts with another insurer we use that have 3 simple questions that ask:1)Aware of any reason that the trip could be cancelled? 2) are you travelling against advice of a GP or to get treatment abroad? 3 ) Diagnosed with terminal illness?. This other Insurer takes the view that if you have fully recovered from an injury / illness, with no ongoing issues, particularly in the case when it happened 25 years ago, why do they need to know ?........Just Travel Cover PLEASE NOTE !!
