Tech support failure

I have been using iDrive for several years to backup our desktop and laptop PC. I have generally been quite happy with the product until now. Seven weeks ago iDrive started failing during online backup of one particular 256MB file. After many interactions with support they referred it to their "backend team". There has been no progress and not a word. I ping them every week and get the same response. I've had to resort to a local backup which I then copy to Google Drive. I will note that this is about 20X faster than IDrive online backup.

So far I am happy with iDrive.

I have only begun using iDrive. I have used other backup systems which seemed confusing to me so that I was never sure I was doing it correctly. So far, I like iDrive because it has a user-friendly interface for someone not really computer-savvy. I can back up to my external hard drive as well as the cloud, both backups can be accessed readily. I can backup on demand or on a pre-selected schedule. I have not yet tried the restore function. I have not yet made a mirror image of my computer, but to back up all my personal data took about 3 hours. Incremental backups take a few minutes. So far I am happy and have recommended iDrive to two people in my life.

Great Introductory Offer & User Friendly…

I got a great introductory offer and the software is more user friendly than the Acronis package I replaced it with. Understandably, the first full backup took a long time. But the second was completed in just five minutes as only amended or new files were needed.

Strong Security Backup Solution from iDrive

I was looking for a cloud backup solution that would have unlimited devices backup, including phone, with strong security features in case of data restore. iDrive ticks all the boxes with this respect. Unlike other cloud backup providers, iDrive would never ask you for your private key during online or courier data restoration requests. Your data stays encrypted throughout all stages until it reaches your local drive. The upload/download speeds are decent and comparable to its competitors. The only thing is that I wish iDrive offered personal plans with storage above 10TB. Right now, I am pushing towards a 10TB data limit and my only option would be a business plan from them. Other than this, iDrive has an excellent backup solution for anyone with less than 10TB data storage requirement.

Really Love the service

Really Love the service! Storage to cost ratio isn't much. They've got lots of different packages based on one's requirements. One thing I liked the most is that the backup utility doesn't put a strain on the resources which is seen very rarely in cloud services. A++++++

IDrive is the ideal backup solution for home needs

I was looking for a backup solution for all my devices and external drives and IDrive Online Backup was a great fit. All my phones, computers and gadgets were synchronized and backed up literally within a day. The initial upload of my main backup of about 3TB took a while as expected and now IDrive works great for me. It was very easy to set up a backup, and most importantly gives me confidence that my files are safe in the cloud.

IDrive Online Backup Services works excellent for me. Setup instructions were easy for backing up my selected files. Also adding my NAS backups to a regular schedule in the cloud is ve ry useful. Very enduser friendly and gives me confident to have my files safe in the cloud

IDrive for the Price and 10TB, easy of use is far better than MS OneDrive

I have used Microsoft OneDrive but it has a limit of 1TB, for about $100 a year I think. I currently have around 6TB to back up and wanted an off site backup / file storage solution that provided far more than 1 TB. After some reading I came across IDRIVE. I purchased the 10 TB package. It was super easy to configure the user account and install the application / client software. Just select the drives and folders on the server and presto you are off and running. I also like the Sync service as well, that is very easy to use and I believe I will use the sync option over the backup just because I am on an ISP that has monthly caps before they charge you for overages. I think I have a 1 TB per month then get charged for set increments over that amount. SO the Sync will be used more frequently with backups done not as frequently. I even purchased their additional RemotePC product. That works great, and was very easy to configure and install the client on both Ubuntu Linux and Server 2016. I have been very pleased with the service and products. I will be letting my one drive account expire and exclusively be using IDrive for all my storage and backup needs. I am not a business, but just a person with a computer hobby and has lots to backup and archive.

Great backup solution for NAS

Needed a solution to backup my Synology DS920+. The native iDrive app within the Synology package manager works very well and I have it set to run every night at 1am. Most other cloud backups restrict NAS backups to more expensive subscriptions tiers. I compared the prices when shopping around and iDrive was cheaper by far. Being able to use it on other devices is also very nice. I currently have the 5TB plan, but will definitely upgrade to the 10TB tier when needed. My only negative is that there aren't storage tiers above 10TB, but I don't see myself needing that for a year or two, and maybe by then higher tiers will be available.
