Tech support failure

I have been using iDrive for several years to backup our desktop and laptop PC. I have generally been quite happy with the product until now. Seven weeks ago iDrive started failing during online backup of one particular 256MB file. After many interactions with support they referred it to their "backend team". There has been no progress and not a word. I ping them every week and get the same response. I've had to resort to a local backup which I then copy to Google Drive. I will note that this is about 20X faster than IDrive online backup.

So far I am happy with iDrive.

I have only begun using iDrive. I have used other backup systems which seemed confusing to me so that I was never sure I was doing it correctly. So far, I like iDrive because it has a user-friendly interface for someone not really computer-savvy. I can back up to my external hard drive as well as the cloud, both backups can be accessed readily. I can backup on demand or on a pre-selected schedule. I have not yet tried the restore function. I have not yet made a mirror image of my computer, but to back up all my personal data took about 3 hours. Incremental backups take a few minutes. So far I am happy and have recommended iDrive to two people in my life.

Great Introductory Offer & User Friendly…

I got a great introductory offer and the software is more user friendly than the Acronis package I replaced it with. Understandably, the first full backup took a long time. But the second was completed in just five minutes as only amended or new files were needed.

It Does Exactly What It Is Supposed To Do :)

First off, I really think a lot of the negative feedbacks are due to user error, local network speeds and not taking the time to learn the tool. So far I have backed up and restored 500GB of data with no issues with it. I am quite satisfied with it, and it is very cost effective as well. No complaints.

Costs at Amazon were getting too high

A good back-up

This is a good back-up alternative to external hard drives etc and works as well as Dropbox. Its very competitively priced, and once you get your head round how to schedule synching etc it's a great product.

Excellent thus far!

I downloaded IDrive about a week ago and have since been in the midst of backing up a 6tb drive containing 20 years worth of photographs (mostly) and video that I have captured for travel, research, and family. Thus far my experience has been quite positive. The features offered by IDrive are what led me to choose this backup service and the upload process has been seamless thus far. The interface is intuitive, the progress bar informative, and being able to throttle my upload while I am working on my computer has been helpful. Yes, backing up 6tb will be slow anywhere, but it should finish tonight. I look forward to having essentially unlimited backup (with the option to upgrade from 10tb to 20tb when needed) especially since I was left in a lurch by Amazon Drive which is discontinuing its unlimited service.

Easy to use product

Easy to use product. You don't need IT knowledge to schedule a proper backup. Online helpdesk (chat service) worked as advertised!

A real alternative to more expensive plans

I was coming to the end of my online backup subscription with Carbonite but wasn’t happy with their renewalprice. I searched around and found iDrive. Having read reviews I decided to try it. I have not been disappointed. The backup does what I would expect. And the subscription covers all my devices mobile phone and iPad s long as I don’t use more data plan (which is 5 times the capacity of my laptop).

Good and reliable service at a very affordable price

Being a photography enthusiast, I chose IDrive cause compared to most other cloud services it offered a lot of backup space, for a very competitive price. So far I had no issues backing up my files. Everything runs smoothly and at a reasonable speed. Both the web interface and app are easy to use and quick to set up. Can highly recommend it!
