Halford takes advantage

My break light fault alarm came on my dashboard. It's a difficult time at the moment and it was an extra problem I didn't need. I saw a Halford Shop and knew they did small jobs so went in to ask if they could change the bulb. They said yes and that it would take 15 mins. I came back 15 mins later and they advised me to change all 4 bulbs, two on each sides, as it was best. I took their advice. It took a further 5 mins. It came to £48.98. I thought it was a lot but presumed the bills bulbs were expensive. They offered me a free MOT (I use my trusted garage so declined) or to take my details and give me £5 off which I took. The bill would be emailed to me so I didn't get to see it there and then. When I saw the bill I couldn't believe the costs - the bulbs were £4.99 for two, so inexpensive ... their labour was £11 PER BULB changed!! No wonder they didn't just want to change the one broken bulb, but 3 more! I know I should have asked the costs and checked, but I didn't expect Halfords to completely take advantage. Won't be using them again!

I made a complaint about halfords since…

I made a complaint about halfords since June 20th 2025 and no one has contacted me like they promised...I bought a dashcam online and arranged for it to be installed via Halford in Catford .Unfortunately the dashcam wasn't compatible with the app and I decided I would like to change dashcam.I arranged an appointment to have the dashcam taken out of my car to be returned and planned to discuss an upgrade.A minute before I arrived my appt.i was told that I cannot return dashcam because it was used.At no point was I advised about this and the manager at catford refused to discuss with me.Ive made several phone calls to customer services who assured me that matter would be Investigated and someone will in touch...no one has..I'm still waiting...as far as I'm concerned Halford is the worst company to deal with when you want query or make a complaint. When they have your money they don't care My case no. is Halfords Customer Services: 26479136 ...I've rang sent emails to no avail...this company is rotten to the core. I will be submitting notes everyday until something is sorted..I will not stop

I bought a Apollo slant about 3 years…

I bought a Apollo slant about 3 years ago from the edge lane Liverpool Halfords on the ride to work system the person who sold me the bike told me while the bike was being built it’s a bit of a crap bike as it is one of the cheaper models 🤔 they have and was trying to dupe me into buying a seven hundred to a thousand pound bike so he’d get more commission 🤨 on the sale lucky I know sales tactics he also told me I wouldn’t go on any big rides because it was such a rubbish bike 😒 funny that as I ride most weekends the furthest I’ve been from Liverpool upto now on my cheap bike Delamere forest all round Chester and wales not bad for a crap bike 😃 anyway finally the back wheel started grinding as I know a bit of bike maintenance myself it turned out to be the ball bearings in the spindle so called Halfords to see if they have my wheel in stock and was told yes thought great stuff got to the Halfords on edge lane asked about the wheel got told oh no we don’t stock that we do for the expensive bikes but not yours then got told try Quinn’s down the road they sent me to the competitor also by the way they don’t do the wheel I need😞 so had to rely on Amazon to save the day got the wheel I needed fitted it I’m back on the road again 😁 how can a bike shop sell you a bike but not have the parts in stock to fix it ridiculous practice whatever happened to the customer is always right if I what an expensive bike I’ll buy one not get sales bullied into it Halfords you need to send your staff on a training course to learn not to bully customers into buying bike they don’t want or need also learn them to offer advice in a better manner I was very disappointed in the Halfords experience this much 😞🤨🧐😔☹️😟😕😠🤔

Buyer Beware if you purchase a car battery

Buyers Beware I purchased a car battery in Sutton and it was faulty so I took it to the Balham branch they said they had to test it for 11 hours that’s ok so I asked for a replacement so I could still use the car They said No 😳 I said couldn’t leave my car in the car park as I’ll get a ticket after 30 minutes Long story short I purchased another battery So I could use the Car and if they found it was faulty I could get a refund they said No They would give me replacement battery 😡 that doesn’t make sense because I need a battery to use the Car 🥺 they called back over 24 hours and left a voicemail message confirming that it was faulty and if I bought my car in they would replace my battery 😡 as this is Halfords policy not to refund just replace the battery 😳 I Called and emailed Headoffice this want on for over 4 weeks they want a response from the Branch Manager They told me they look at the Notes and Closed the file 🧐 without replying to Headoffice finally 4 weeks later He or She said that I took the battery out of the car so this is why the battery failed 😩 I told Headoffice I use the car every day what madness this is 😤 in the end Headoffice was helping me they asked for a garage Report to confirm that my car wasn’t faulty 😡 in the end I said that I would collect a new battery from the store to end this nightmare 😤 then I remembered that I sent Headoffice a copy of the receipt and a copy of the voice message confirming that it was faulty and I corresponding with Adam at the Headoffice (it was sketch from Little Britain Computer said No) Adam wanted to check the voice message was from someone at the Store 😳 The voice message was the guy who fitted the new battery Every time l called Headoffice they apologised about my experience and they will escalate to resolved my complaint surprise surprise nothing happened Headoffice it was dealing with Ai Robots 🤖 The only human was a Young Lady Called Rieqa Who finally solved the issue and called me back finally I got a refund 4 weeks later 😇 thank God so be careful if you purchasing a battery from Halfords warn your friends and family about what Happened to me 😎 ps they only refund the exact amount of the replacement battery nothing else to compensate for all the de stress they put me through😡😤😡

Went to buy my boy his first bike as I stay 1 1/2 hours away and said they have 2 on the Internet which was about £80 each so got there and surprise surprise they didn't have any of them they said they don't update website all the time so had to get him the next one up which was £130 will never be there again

Extremely Disappointed with the Service

Hi, My order number is: A971B030638. I booked a tyre replacement service through Halfords and ordered four tyres with a home fitting. The booking confirmation stated the technician would arrive anytime between 8am and 8pm, so I waited the entire day — without a single update or call from them. As the day progressed and no one showed up, I had to call them myself. They assured me the technician would still come, so I kept waiting. Finally, just before the day ended, I received a call saying the driver was no longer available and wouldn’t be coming at all. I was then asked to reschedule. This was completely unacceptable. If they had informed me earlier, I could’ve made alternate arrangements with another company. But because they waited until the very end of the day to cancel, I had no other options — most places were already closed. I asked if they could come the next day (Saturday) or on Sunday, but was told they were fully booked and don’t operate Sundays. Now, I’ve been forced to wait until Monday, wasting my entire weekend just because of their poor communication and lack of professionalism. This kind of service is extremely frustrating and shows a complete disregard for customers’ time. I expected better from a brand like Halfords. I won’t be using their fitting service again.

Perfect holiday gazebo

Halfords Air Shelter, perfect alternative to awning for newly-purchased caravan - up and stable in just 3 mins after unpacking 1st time! Fully flexible side panel add/remove on all 4 sides to suit weather and privacy needs. Sides unzip and store in seconds. Height perfect for stepping straight in from foot of caravan steps. Highly wind-resistant air support poles - can see other ‘poled gazebos’ on site here sagging … Love design, including permanent discreet hook-and-loop covers for each air inlet, as well as central roof hook for lighting. Comparable air awning we estimate at 3 times the full current price of this lovely air shelter. Awning carpet previously purchased from Halfords for family tunnel tent is ideal too - WIN-WIN and win again Halfords!! 👏🎉

Appalling service

Appalling service - been trying to get a specific motorcycle battery which they have in two stores nowhere near me, but point blank refuse to enter into any process whereby the items can be transferred internally to a store nearer to me. People it's 2025 not the middle ages - no one's expecting you to personally go 4 days on a horse.

My dad purchased wiper blades in store…

My dad purchased wiper blades in store for the front of his car taking advice from a salesperson. The blades were provided with 3 fittings to choose from. The one that was needed was very difficult to attach to the blade and it didn't fit on the arm! Having gone to the local Halfords website to look at the reviews, it seems a lot of people had the same trouble. It was a total waste of £45 and he purchased some Bosch ones at a cheaper price. He certainly won't be using Halfords again.

Poor Customer service !!

Went to our local Halfords centre today for price for 4 Pirreli tyres When I asked was told to go online and get the price myself Really poor customer service sures he would have Internet there to give me a price Went home and went online found the tyres that I needed cheap at Kwik fit £1000 customer halfords lost all due to laziness of staff !!!

Get it from somewhere else at least these big companies shouldn’t give your money to them purchasing from them. It’s better to buy from somewhere else which is good with their policies.

I bought a bike for my son around one week or maybe 10 days he has been used at few times and paddle sides broken we have to get to the retailer in Tottenham Hill where we purchased it and they said it’s our fault first thing they offer this we can change the paddles but I have to pay for it then I said no because there’s only one week the parts they have used is cheap parts that’s why it’s break what they were saying no is my child fault at the end they have called the police but they did not change it  wasted police time online  such a big company with stingy and greedy they could not change a £5 worth paddle and I have paid £155 for the bike. Shame on them beware of that when you go there I happy to take your money but when you have problems with the bike, everything it will be blamed on you.
