My elderly parents had a slow dripping…

My elderly parents had a slow dripping leak on their Boiler that had been fitted by 'GAIR GAS'. After several visits and very poor workmanship, a 'singular' slow leak turned into multiple major leaks!!! Which in turn, led to a new Boiler being required. The new Boiler was poorly fitted and this also leaked. A new flu was also fitted poorly and looked absolutely awful!!! The above took several weeks and several unsuccessful visits, showcasing poor and uncaring management/service to 'very loyal' customers of theirs. Furthermore, we realised that their monthly charge for 'Boiler Cover' was over double what other professional and 'trustworthy' companies charge and my unaware parents had faithfully paid this for many, many years! GAIR GAS used to be a nice family run company, that cared for its clients... sadly, they have turned into a larger company who care about profit and NOT their loyal clientele.

Reasonable priced plumbing repairs

Had some plumbing repairs done on my old bathroom, not hard stuff, very reasonable price and they moved things around to get the bathroom working quicker for us.

New boiler

They replaced my back boiler with a self condensation boiler in a new position. Great service very neat and tidy.

Boiler/system check.

Just had system and boiler checked prior to taking out breakdown cover. Engineer phoned prior to arrival. Carried out work in a professional and friendly manner.

Excellent service

Requested a call out at 09:00 and the call handler managed the call very well. Captured all the details and assured a visit would take place within 24 hours. I requested call not before 12:30 thus eating into the 24 hours. Text at 13:20 same day to say that Rich would be with me within 20 minutes. Rich arrived, had been briefed about the problem, got to work and resolved the issue within thirty minutes. Checked everything was ok, offered advice on managing the boiler and left a happy householder. Tidy worker, used over shoes and left without any mess. Thank you.

A prompt, accurate and considerate service

Gair were very prompt and accurate in firstly diagnosing, and the next day replacing, our failed Central Heating pump and siezed valves in the middle of the recent freezing spell. Their engineer (Alex) was very professional, informative and considerate.

Exploration

Gair gas engineer phoned 20 minutes before arriving.They spent about half an hour trying to find the problem with our boiler. It transpired that the pump had developed a fault and as the boiler was under guarantee it was down to Worcester Bosch to fix it. They spent some considerable time trying to get through on the phone and eventually left saying they would phone us to let us know when they got through. This they did about 30 minutes later.

Follow up review of Gair

I wrote a review of Gair last week and gave the company four stars as the engineer had to get a part. I must admit I thought that I wouldn’t see the engineer again this side of Christmas. How wrong I was! I got an email the next day saying they had the part and they asked me to ring and book another appointment. In less than a week later my radiator was functioning again and boiler and heating system were thoroughly checked. The engineer, Andrei and his apprentice were very pleasant, thorough and patient with a rather frustrating job. Office staff super friendly and a delight to speak to. They deserve promotion to 5 stars! Great service!
