Once aware of the process and access to the online system the complaint was handled very well and I received a fast resolution from Octopus. They had shown no interest in resolving my complaint about refunding my credit balance on transferring my energy account elsewhere. The Ombudsman case definitely made them sit up and deal with it and I received a full refund and compensation for the mistakes made.
Octopus haven't completed their actions in the given time frame and have no date to do so, yet you've closed the case stating that Octopus have completed their actions! I still do not have a working gas metre since Octopus tried and failed to install a smart metre in February, 5 months ago. All I want is a metre that works so I know how much gas we are using and what I should be paying.

After taking up my case with eon ,who for over a year have bullied me and my wife , with regards to lying ,overcharging ,I felt they did nothing to punish them ,even though I have sent evidence of there corrupt dealings and bully tactics ,it feels like ombudsman is part of eons HR
I cannot praise the Energy Ombudsman enough for helping me with my dispute with my energy supplier. I'd expected a long and complicated process but was amazed to find just the opposite! My case worker was so helpful, which was appreciated, as I have mental health problems. I felt supported all the way. If your energy supplier is giving you the run around, don't sit and take it. Contact the Energy Ombudsman.
Dreadful service. We were advised that both parties would be treated fairly and despite providing 6 months worth of evidence, we were persuaded to accept a ridiculous goodwill gesture despite unresolved issues with Scottish Power. Almost a year on and we are back to the start of the complaints process with Scottish Power (another ridiculous company). We have now had to look for external support with our ongoing issues - absolute failure of the Ombudsman on every count.
Top marks to the Ombudsman for resolving a dispute with my energy supplier that went on for over 2 years.
Within a few months of contacting the Ombudsman, I can now finally say that a satisfactory conclusion has been reached
