We did the Danube from Budapest to Passau then a coach to Prague for 4 Days. Our trip included stops of some beautiful places with ample time to explore. Emerald is our βgo toβ river cruise company which I strongly recommend to others to give them a try.
Our Duoro river cruise was excellent.
All the staff were friendly, efficient and our every need was catered for. The bar staff were great fun. The cabin was comfortable and always kept clean and tidy. We were also impressed that a lot of the staff came from Porto.

The cruise from starts to finish was memorable for all the right reasons. Staff, the ship, food, accomadation all wonderful. Each day different with multi choices⦠relax in board, sightsee yourself, sightsee with a guided tour or be adventurous and do an active activity. Something for everyone.
Friendly and helpful staff, excellent food and wine, very clean ship. What more could one want. Only downside was access to shower room was very tight.
Did the Danube Cruise + Extension in Prague. Very difficult to fault in any way. It was well organised, accommodation and catering was great and well organised excursions with excellent guides. i don't think there is anything else to say.
loved the cruise but? good food, excellent staff, the vessel was wonderful, would have loved to give top marks but night time sailings, woken as we went through the locks, not being able to see the passing countryside as we sailed , just woke up in the next port of call. they need to look at this.
We were first time travellers with Emerald, after cruising with another company a number of times.
Several things particularly impressed us. The overall organisation, and a particularly efficient cruise manager whilst on the cruise, made the holiday run very smoothly. The ship itself was very comfortable, the food was excellent and all staff were friendly and hardworking. We enjoyed the majority of organised trips, but also having the opportunity to visit some ports independently.
Overall, we would be happy to recommend Emerald to anyone.

An excellent holiday and introduction to river cruising
We did the Danube cruise from Budapest to Nuremberg onboard Emerald Destiny.
The whole booking, receiving tickets, pre cruise information etc was efficient and easy. This included flights and transfers from and to the airports.
On arrival at the ship we were quickly booked in and shown to our cabin with a short explanation of what was where. After unpacking we had a late lunch which was buffet style.
The whole organisation was excellent, efficient and friendly, indeed the service could not be faulted. Staff all spoke English and went out of their way to make sure you had all you wanted and you were having an enjoyable experience.
Each day there were trips, either walking or by bus, where the ship was too far away. As well as this there were more active activities including cycling, hiking, plus several trips where you paid extra.
On board there were nightly activities, a film etc.
Food was excellent for meat eaters. There was an issue for pescatarians as meat was added to some fish dishes. As a vegetarian I was initially delighted that each day the menu placed in our cabin stated what dishes were suitable for me. The problem is they clearly thought I would eat fish and bacon. That said they happily adapted dishes when I requested.
This was an excellent holiday with ample activities and relaxation and a good experience for our first cruise.
It was our first river cruise we found it fantastic, wonderful food, all the staff were extremely helpful. The tours were excellent and the scenery was lovely. Would definitely recommend.
We were happy with our first Emerald river cruise,we have been on one other river cruise with Scenic,which is the parent company although there is not much difference between the companies we felt that Scenic had the edge being fully inclusive and having the use of a butler but we think the service levels of both companies were the same high level
We would not hesitate to book with either company in the future
I enjoyed my recent Emerald trip on Emerald Sky starting and ending in Amsterdam All the staff were excellent tours good. Food very good.
I would have liked more entertainment at night and was disappointed no films were on offer in the pool area which we had on our last cruise
Enchantment of Eastern Europe on Emerald Star.
Excellent hard working cruise director (Patricia), Excellent interesting guides and tours. Crew were fantastic and we appreciated new activities organiser ,Bret who was a welcome addition and kept us entertained rather than the usual piano player. Could not fault anything on the River cruise part of the tour. Check-in at Radison Blu hotel in Bucharest was very chaotic as 150 of us arrived together (better to stagger arrival or advise guests to wait in reception area until things calmed down a bt.
Having used other River Cruise Companies I found Emerald Waterways to be the best. The food is excellent, spoilt for choice. The crew are very polite and attentive. The excursions are well planned and very interesting.
