Good Value for your money

Although at first the price appeared high it’s not when you consider what is actually included: Breakfast Lunch Dinner Bar Snacks each evening Beer and Wine at Lunch and Dinner Tea/Coffee/Hot Chocolate, Cookies 24/7 Popcorn on movie nights. Tours with excellent tour guides. Local entertainment on board ship Professional, friendly, hardworking staff. We did the Danube from Budapest to Passau then a coach to Prague for 4 Days. Our trip included stops of some beautiful places with ample time to explore. Emerald is our “go to” river cruise company which I strongly recommend to others to give them a try.

Our Duoro river cruise was excellent.

Our Duoro river cruise was excellent. All the staff were friendly, efficient and our every need was catered for. The bar staff were great fun. The cabin was comfortable and always kept clean and tidy. We were also impressed that a lot of the staff came from Porto. A beautiful experience. Thank you

The cruise from starts to finish was…

The cruise from starts to finish was memorable for all the right reasons. Staff, the ship, food, accomadation all wonderful. Each day different with multi choices… relax in board, sightsee yourself, sightsee with a guided tour or be adventurous and do an active activity. Something for everyone.

Our first river cruise

Our first river cruise. It was more than our expectations. We loved the profession but friendly approach of all the crew. The relaxed atmosphere on ship and the excellently planned and guided tours. There was a good balance of off ship visits and opportunities if wanted to independently explore or relax back at the ship. We had the basic stateroom which we found surprisingly roomy and well appointed.

Really great staff and overall very…

Really great staff and overall very good food and service. Included "Tours" a little weak. Move to more "fun" on-board activities in my view gone too far, bearing in mind there is only one true lounge area to relax in. Needs to find a balance on this point and please bring back the live piano! Scenic sister company still worth the extra.

Amazing!

We cruised the Danube last year with Emerald and enjoyed it so much that we booked to return this year. We came down through Germany, Austria and Slovakia, to Hungary. The cities were full of architectural grandeur and were all vibrant. The shops were fun and showed a cultural diversity. Each day we returned for lunch and dinner with complimentary wine or beer. On board the atmosphere is incredibly relaxing and yet there was no reason to be bored.We were already discussing where to take an Emerald cruise next year whilst we were only halfway through our week.

Our holiday on Emerald Star was…Excellent in every respect

Our holiday on Emerald Star was excellent in every respect. The ship was beautifully appointed and clean to the nth degree. Every surface gleamed and not a stray fingerprint or speck of dust was ever to be seen. The cabin was very comfortable and kept pristine by an attentive cabin steward. The food was delicious, varied, imaginatively presented and as much as you could possibly want. Waiters and all involved with the restaurant experience were attentive and gave friendly and individual service. The places visited, and local guides supplied, were interesting and excursions were very well organised. Evening entertainment was local to the area at the time and most enjoyable. At every turn we were made to feel valued customers and nothing was ever too much trouble for the excellent staff both on board and when booking the holiday. I would highly recommend a river cruise with Emerald.

Blue danube experience

It was a brilliant experience.wish I had done it when I was much younger. We visited amazing cities and some wonderful experience s.. The ship and captain and all crew staff very friendly and helpful food was excellent.couldn't fault quality and quantity. Catered for those on specific diets.I Overall a great experience

Absolutely wonderful holiday with…

Absolutely wonderful holiday with Emerald Waterways on the Emerald Liberte on the Rhone / Saone. All the crew were lovely with a special mention to Drazen, the events manager, and Jana, the cruise director, who both went the extra mile to make our holiday. The food was excellent, cabins lovely, sundeck great and it was really good to have the indoor pool that doubled up for yoga in the mornings. Would not hesitate to recommend this cruise

Loved it!

What can I say? From booking to travelling all went smoothly. We were on the Sensations of Lyon & Provence cruise and were able to fly from our local airport with a change in Amsterdam which was great. The food on board was to die for, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, the Cruise Director was very helpful and knowledgeable about each place we stopped, the beds were comfortable & everywhere was spotless. This was our first river cruise and I was a bit apprehensive because I have problems walking long distances or standing for long periods of time. I needn’t have worried because each excursion was split into three groups depending on your fitness levels. We took the “gentle” group each time and the local guides took it slowly and avoided steps etc where possible. We saw what the other groups did but at a more leisurely pace and with no pressure to keep up with people who were more able bodied. My husband, who has no mobility problems, enjoyed the tours as well. The evening entertainment was a little bit hit and miss but we were the first cruise of the season and this is the first year they’ve tried having an Entertainments Director. I’m sure it will settle down as they work out what does and doesn’t go down well with passengers. They just have to remember that not everyone wants to join in and so what happens should not be so noisy that it drives other people out of the lounge. All in all we loved it and would book again.

Just Makes Me Want To Go Again

Having completed one Emerald cruise on the Danube, and been impressed, we decided a second on the Rhone should follow. We were not disappointed! It was the first of this season but the boat, the crew and all hotel staff were bonded as a very competent, friendly and professional team who constantly demonstrated a desire to please. Accommodation, bar and drinks, onboard entertainment, pool/cinema area and especially the food and accompanying wines were all consistently very good. And of course last but not least, the guided land tours and scenery were in excess of expectations. We had a drinks package and struggled thereafter to spend money on board! My wife regrettably made up for it whilst on shore and we came home with marvellous cheeses, mustards, wines and chocolates! Jana the cruise Director and DD the cruise Entertainment director were superb and got to know all 130 passengers personally and treated them as both individuals and as members of the Team Emerald. A glowing review I know but well deserved.
