Difficulties Paying your bill on time.

Paying your bill on time. Paying bills online (eTransfer) takes 4-5 days to appear in your account - this card is trying to force you to pay interest. Do Not get this Mastercard

There is a serious security breach with this company and everyone needs to be aware! I applied with my SIN, info and address, I then brought in my ID after receiving several emails and letters saying I was approved. I called and they say they must have used someone else’s info for my approval and once looking at my ID with the same info I wasn’t approved. This is incredibly concerning given the info provided they clearly do not have a secure system. Not to mention the people answering the phone are the rudest people I’ve ever dealt with.

Horrible communications and No Support

I recently had an experience with CTFS that left me quite disappointed, especially in terms of their communication. The issue began when I noticed a discrepancy in a charge from a company that had misrepresented the currency they were billing in. Naturally, I turned to CTFS for assistance, hoping they would act as a mediator and help rectify the situation. Over the course of several months, I made numerous attempts to reach out to them. I sent multiple emails, hoping for updates or at least an acknowledgment of my concerns. It was disheartening to feel as though my concerns were falling on deaf ears, especially when dealing with a matter as sensitive as financial discrepancies. When I finally received a response from CTFS, it was far from satisfactory. They simply informed me that they couldn't assist in the matter. What was even more frustrating was the lack of transparency. They did not provide any detailed explanation, nor did they share any insights into their communication (or lack thereof) with the company in question. It left me feeling as though I was in the dark, without any support or guidance. Given this experience, I feel compelled to share my story as a word of caution for potential Canadian Tire credit card users. While the card may offer certain benefits, the customer support, based on my experience, leaves much to be desired. I'd advise considering this card only if you've exhausted other options and are fully aware of the potential challenges in communication and dispute resolution.

Unstable & Unreliable

Between credit card amounts and payment disputes, I've also encountered dropped phone calls from even the supervisors whenever we try to get my account issues resolved. It's nothing but a circus run! I don't trust Canadian Tire Financial Services at all at this point! I don't want to go into specifics as that's too personal but CTFS definitely needs to get their act together! Not even the finance (collections) departments are on the same page with each other. One group I dealt with says one thing but another says something else. Because of them, I've lost all trust in every form of credit card company/offer there is. These people are terrible!

Automated credit card application…

Automated credit card application refused to accept due to system errors?? This should be a 5 minute automated process. Phone support really do not care at all. I tried to get management on the phone after being told someone would get back to me in 6 weeks, I ended call after sitting on hold for over 30 minutes. Called back to simply cancel my application. A few weeks later they write me to say they tried to contact me (no they did not). Called them back to put a stop to this. As a retired banker I have never seen such a poorly executed credit application process. The way they treated an applicant with a 900 credit rating and an established credit history including home ownership etc. is a joke. They then said you will be approved...advised them to take their credit card, their two-bit "Bank" and stick it.

These guys act like loan sharks

These guys act like loan sharks. I was $14.00 over my limit, they started calling me Saturday morning and continued to the following Friday. I have told them several times they are not allowed to call and written correspondence only... they don't care about consumer protection laws or otherwise. This card will be paid off and cancelled ASAP. They should take 'Canadian' out of their name.

Applied for Mastercard online and after…

Applied for Mastercard online and after filling out the application successfully, I hit the SUBMIT button and all it says is 'Oops...we could not process your request'. Called CTFS support 1st time hung up on 2nd time) Went through all the monkey-script troublehsooting steps with their support (which fixed nothing) - then told 'they would look into it and call me back'....never did 3) called and tried to run me throught the monkey-script again and I escalated to supervisor who retraced the monkey-script, told me nothing was wrong with their system BUT 'it doesnt seem to work for some people' (sounds broken to me!) and then told me to a) drive to a store b) NOT get the application bonus because the store cannot provide it c) chase them later trying to recoup that missing incentive... Um...no...card cancelled. Absolutely NO concept of what customer service is.. RUNAWAY!!! ....and I got suckered to try them again 1 yr later and guess what 1) rewards points stolen less than a week of getting M/C 2) 7 calls/5 weeks of talking to them to get everything sorted...and I still cant get this all sorted. RUN SO FAR away....

BEWARE

BEWARE! Do not make a payment on the triangle app! I made a payment on Jan 17th and it has not reflected on my account yet (Jan 23). So I called and they told me it will be processed on Feb 3!! EXCUSE ME?! 3 weeks to process a payment?! It’s 2023! Why is Canadian Tire bank stuck in 2003? The lady I spoke with highly recommended me to never make a payment on the app in my account, and instead go in store or add as payee on your banking app. So why is this an option then? Nowhere does it tell you to expect 3 weeks to process a payment. I enjoy Canadian Tire, but there bank is a joke of an operation.

My husband and i got a joint card

My husband and i got a joint card. The main card was in his name. My husband was unable to work due to illness and surgery. Our understanding from an aggrement we had was if he was unable to work the payments would be taken over. After 2 months we get a text we were behind. I responded to the text as well as an email explaining the situation and i heard nothing back until the 4th month saying we were behind. So assuming they were not going to honor paying the payments while he was sick or thinking we were misunderstood the agreement we got a loan to pay off the card (which was only 300.) After we paid it off our account was restricted. My husband called in and was told we still owed 10.00 monthly payment on the card and as soon as that was paid it would be reinstated, so i paid it that same day. 2 months later the card was still restricted so my husband called again and said he made the 10.00 payment but the card was still restricted. He was told that his account was closed and he would have to reapply, which he did over the phone and was rejected. When he asked why he was told if he paid the 10.00 his card would be reinstated they said they aren't sure why he was told that but it wasn't true. He has been a credit card customer for years always made payments on time and never got an increase and this is how he was treated. They made him think his card would be reinstated until he paid the rest of the card off then they changed their story. I feel lied to and under valued. I would recommend going to another company.

CT Financial Service and CT Master card…

CT financial service and CT Master card are the best. They provide savings with no fees, low rates, and cash back on gasoline and store purchases, self-serve website is excellent and allows many banking features with no fees charged for these services. If want a really negative card experience try Capital One!

This bank institution is terrible and…

This bank institution is terrible and has predatory services that they make you sign. I got a credit card at one of their stores and they never explained me anything about their semi hidden credit card Insurance Balance Protection. When I noticed these monthly charges in my statement, I notified them I didn't want the protection insurance and they said it would be cancelled. Five years later I found out that I was still being charged for it. I called them opened an investigation and now they claim they could not find any records of me calling to cancel. This investigation took more than 56 to end. I was so upset, during this investigation they mishandled my case and even issued me a new credit card without me asking for one. Their CS are hopeless, they don't have the slight clue how to help you and once you are transferred to the Account Manager or supervisor I was treated with no respect, care or empathy for my case. The person who spoke to me said nothing could be done and wanted to end the conversation right away. They even locked my account after calling multiple times. In short, I will never again be taking any services from CT Banking. Be aware of their predatory behaviors and check your statements. I have never been treated so bad by a banking institution.

Poor customer service

This company is absolutely disgusting. I have been a credit card holder for almost 10 years. I have recently changed my name and I want my credit card to reflect that change. This company has made it the hardest possible to get that done. The only option you have is to send in your original documents, which took up to 6 months to get. The person I spoke to told me straight out that some people don’t even get there documents back or they have to jump through hopps to get it back. CTFS has even told people they lost them and couldn’t help them. This is the only credit card or company which I have that has refused to accept anything other then your original documents. This leaves me in a very awkward situation. Use a credit card with the wrong name, cancel my credit card of 10 years, or possibly loose all my documents when I send them in. Absolutely disgusting. The world is changing and every company should be working towards making things easier for their clients.

The worst customer service I have ever…

The worst customer service I have ever recieved. Paid off my bill in full, they told me my bank was holding the funds for 18 days and they needed a fax. After a week of going back and forth I finally got ahold of a supervisors supervisor, Jessica, who told me no, my bank is not holding the funds, they are, my bank has already released them. I am being charged interest on a balance that I did not have at that time as it was paid, and Jessica said it was okay that I had been lied to for a week because there was no malicious intent. Do yourself a favour, avoid at all costs. Update: I have been told I can stop payment on the funds so I can come in and pay it directly. She also offered to see about increasing my credit limit. Oh, and I overpaid them, but they're gonna hold onto that too.

I was approved for a credit card and…

I was approved for a credit card and then the pandemic hit. My financial status did not change but they pulled the card. The representative outright lied to me on the phone saying that there was another set of approvals that had to take place after the approval and confirmation that the card was being sent.
