Sandra our tutor for year 2 has been so supportive and helpful and brings passion and knowledge in abundance. She shares so much and her feedback is thorough and thoughtful and so helpful. She's been amazing and I'm excited to continue the second half of the year and progress onto year three. Thank you so much to the staff behind the scenes and placements team too for always being ready to answer queries and help where they can.

I have been with chrysalis for 2.5 yrs, my 1st year was enjoyable, with a great tutor, my 2nd year not so much, however, on year 3 1st session in January, my current tutor gave me structure, with slideshows & video clips to explain in more depth and giving examples of the different topics, I have thoroughly enjoyed my first 5 modules as I am a visual learner, the guidance given is great by Sarah Jones and she is a real fit for our group, I am looking forward to the rest of my final year with Chrysalis
I have had a great experience training with Chrysalis. The pluralistic content of the course has been very interesting and I believe has put me in good stead for my future as a counsellor. Most beneficial to my experience though is my tutor, Martina. Martina is incredibly knowledgeable, always puts us at ease, fills us with confidence and gives valuable feedback.

The quality of teaching is excellent, running of organisation could be improved upon. Sometimes found that reading list could be limited and not always geared towards the essays. For example, the final essay was on addiction, yet none of our course books contained any information on how to treat addiction. When trying to find a third year placement, I found Chrysalis unhelpful. For students in Scotland, there is only one placement recommendation from Chrysalis. I found it challenging to find one, as did the rest of my group. I think Chrysalis should be more supportive in helping its students secure a placement. No graduation ceremony. While I understand we are not leaving Chrysalis with degrees, we are leaving with qualifications we worked very hard for, mostly while working full time. It would be nice if Chrysalis organised graduation ceremonies (which students would pay for).

Chrysalis is a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills with excellent support. I really enjoied every class and my experience. I would recommend Chrysalis cources to anyone. If you want to grow, develop and become a better counsellor, this course is for you.

One star is a star too many! Diabolically run course. Had nothing but issues with the office ignoring enquiries. Many hidden costs involved and a total lack of support at year three has meant that I’ve not been able to finish. I’m currently complaining to Ofqual- I was very shocked at how seriously bad some of the advice I was given when I approached a BACP supervisor who strongly advised me not to take the course of action Chrysalis advised me to take. Chrysalis is also not recognised by many many charities and organisations making placement at year three almost impossible to obtain. The organisation is in a complete mess and I’d recommend highly that anyone thinking of taking up a course with Chrysalis looks elsewhere first!

I’m not happy with the lack of support and lots of. Issues especially now at the end of year 1. No help when you try to call takes someone 2 days to get back while you worry and not informed about all the frees for extra diffrent organisations to join in order to get my certificate that’s mine I’ve paid a whole year now got to pay another £100 to hypnosis society I’m also dyslexic and no support. Or help. For me I’m even thinking of withdrawal from next course as not satisfied it’s going to be any different with support or communication

My interviewer really put me at my ease and allowed me plenty of time for questions which I appreciated. He told me he started his hypnotherapy practice before he completed the course but I now know this isn't allowed! I enjoyed every class because the content was so interesting but sadly had no study group as I live on an island and could not afford to travel to the mainland to join one. The only other student on the island worked long hours and we only managed to meet once. I think it is wrong that students are not advised of ongoing costs of study/practice before signing up. Paying for books, society fees, insurance, further training (CPD), supervision et al has emptied my savings! Our tutor was exceptionally knowledgeable and referred frequently to live examples of clients which brought the course alive for me. She was very receptive to my frequent emails that I sent asking for guidance and reassured me when I wobbled! As guinea pigs of the Moodle system, it was a bit of a shock to learn that I needed a laptop with Word in order to submit assignments - more expense plus I had to find someone to teach me how to use it - we're not all university graduates you know! My homework was always swiftly marked, although the scoring system was a mystery - 100/100 every time - I'm not that bright!I would have preferred a more accurate reflection of my progress. I felt the tutor should have given more feedback too. "Keep going. You're doing well," just isn't enough constructive guidance for a student. Overall I feel I have enough working knowledge to set up my own practice but I will need a lot more training on issues such as childbirth, pain relief, inner child, regression, hypnotherapy in groups in order to provide a reliable, well-rounded service

Referring to the Hypnotherapy course, Chrysalis covered the subject really well. The course was designed to introduce people to the subject and turn them into competent hypnotherapists with strong ethics benefitting the clients and industry as a whole. The tutor was knowledgeable and pragmatic. I'm very pleased to have done the course.
