A Horror Story!!!
An awful experience, all told! - Unprofessional staff in their treatment of certain students, bar one tutor, over 3 years. Course began, more or less, as expected. Then swiftly declined into horror as 'finding a placement time' arrived - no REAL help in finding one - just a useless list, where most contacted asked whether Chrysalis is BACP accredited (???) - Woops!!! No they are NOT - This is crucial to most student future success. Oh! They used to be accredited – ummm! Most placements also expect that YOU ARE IN THERAPY & remain so for the next 2 years. Why? - Most placements expect you to remain with them for 2 years. All the ONGOING FEES have been mentioned on here before. Fees to the Nat. Soc. Then you have to pay insurance as a student/therapist - Some placements expect YOU to pay for supervision & dispute the amount of time you need it. Modules are incorrectly marked - You then have to spend stressful time challenging the mark - When you prove your point, there is no apology - just 'Oh, we'll tick that off now, then.' - Certain placements collude, saying you have not met standards for supervision, whilst supervisors disappear on holiday, without notice to the student. At this time, you have already paid the '?supervisor?' for several months in advance. When you appeal this awful situation, feeling absolutely robbed, Chrysalis' HR dept. act as the "independent adjudicator" - NOT! .... Knew something was up, when they requested a course review after only TWO MONTHS! Some of the south-office staff are lovely and others are rude as well as useless - Of course, we'll never see them - Will we? - But, they'll see us! Half the students left by 2nd year. A complete SCAM in my eyes - PAID my money - PASSED every module! - No certificate for 2 years of 3. I continue to seek justice. Who would have thought a course supposed to assist/promote mental health works, by any measure, in the opposite way? I WISH YOU WELL!
