Sandra our tutor for year 2 has been so supportive and helpful and brings passion and knowledge in abundance. She shares so much and her feedback is thorough and thoughtful and so helpful. She's been amazing and I'm excited to continue the second half of the year and progress onto year three. I have been with chrysalis for 2.5 yrs, my 1st year was enjoyable, with a great tutor, my 2nd year not so much, however, on year 3 1st session in January, my current tutor gave me structure, with slideshows & video clips to explain in more depth and giving examples of the different topics, I have thoroughly enjoyed my first 5 modules as I am a visual learner, the guidance given is great by Sarah Jones and she is a real fit for our group, I am looking forward to the rest of my final year with Chrysalis
I have had a great experience training with Chrysalis. The pluralistic content of the course has been very interesting and I believe has put me in good stead for my future as a counsellor. Most beneficial to my experience though is my tutor, Martina. Martina is incredibly knowledgeable, always puts us at ease, fills us with confidence and gives valuable feedback.

I have felt truly supported throughout the whole of my course but especially towards the end of my practice as I needed a bit of extra time to complete and a few additional questions answered by the support team.

Chrysalis offer fairly priced counselling courses with a good variation to meet your individual goals. Although in the past Chrysalis have taken a long time to reply to emails, more recently they have been very fast and considerate in supporting me with any difficulties/ circumstances that I have had. Recently Chrysalis have moved to having some modules online which is ideal for me as I have to commute into London however this is based on personal preference and some of my peers prefer face to face teaching.

Once you get your head around MOODLE and Chrysalis processes you can start to enjoy your learning. The MOODLE instructions are very well set out with useful videos to follow and infomrative webinars to watch. The venue I lstudy at is local, centrle with parking and great facilities. Friendly and approachable tutors make the course interesting and their expereicne is invaluble. I have also contact the support team at times and they are also very friendly, helpful and efficeint.

Poor quality of teaching - simply going over the course notes which we are encouraged to read before class, does not qualify as teaching. No visual aids - including a supporting PPT - are used and learning is completely reliant on the work completed at home. A poor venue makes the experience further frustrating - a small, inappropriate room with no tables to work on and is generally very cold. Altogether, a disappointing experience so far especially considering the cost.

I have had help from student self support for over a year while I’ve been getting my clinical hours sorted for my third year and their help has been invaluable and much appreciated. They are always ready to help and so polite! It’s been a pleasure.

Very poor IT system and poorly organised course. The work submitted during the year was generally pointless and repetitive. Even then you needed to be very tech savvy to be able to submit the work. The face to face days mostly involved the group chatting and very little learning actually delivered. In short I would have been better off reading the material at home and doing the hours log and SSP’s. The SSP work should be submitted 3/4 way through instead of at the last session. Also given the cost I would have expected the certificate to be issued immediately after completion of work instead of potentially 4 months later. No mentoring for SSP or training in general. Overall, I wouldn’t do a course with Chrysalis again.

Very disappointed by the organisation of the course and the information given. Online content is good and interesting but the rubrics for the course and submission information lacks clarity and support is very limited. I feel like there is a conflict between what is asked of students regarding ethics, building of rapport, trauma awareness and the actual organisations delivery of the same. I would be happy to share further feedback directly.
