Perfect Mountain Getaway!

This is a great house! We were so impressed by how well stocked it was and how clean! The beds were extremely comfortable. All of our needs were met! It was a perfect getaway spot!

My experience with BRMR was excellent…

My experience with BRMR was excellent on all fronts. They were very responsive and pleasant. The home we rented was fantastic! It was clean, attractive, and fully supplied from the kitchen to bedrooms and bathrooms. We said next time we visit this area - we won't search anymore - we'll just come back here!

White Oak cabin

My 2 sons and I rented the White Oak cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rental was very clean, cozy,and quiet. It was close to anything you would want as in restaurants, grocery stores, or activities. I would definitely like to stay there again.

Highly recommended!

The house is perfectly located off of 221 making it easily accessible to the highway and major shopping. There’s an Ingles grocery store, CVS, etc. about 15 minutes away. The kitchen is well stocked with all necessities. The fire pit outside is perfect for a serene night by the fire. We will definitely be returning! Consider carefully about bringing more than two people because there is only one bathroom in the house in the master bedroom, which could be a problem if someone has to use the restroom during the night.

Great weekend with the family with Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals

Company was great to work with to book our weekend getaway. The property was as described and beautiful. Couple things that could have made it better would be the binder at the home seemed to have very general information regarding the area. Took us a while to find out where the closest grocery store was due to very rural location of the home. Providing us some details ahead of the trip such as "roads are under construction and may be difficult to pass" and that it's best to be prepared with food shopping ahead of your stay would have been extremely helpful. Also, additional details on all the amenities at the house and how to use them would have been great as well. For example: Sonos speakers for outdoor hot tub would not work and there were no instructions on how to connect. No instructions on the steam shower and it's use in the master bedroom. These were all minor but it would have made our stay a 5 star.

Do your homework, ask for confirmation of maintenance records.

My experience was so poor that as I wrote up my review it went on and on and on. So I've decided to highlight it simply. Rented Look Out Lodge for two weeks. On third night had to leave due to CO2 leak that was discovered only after we required them to come and look at furnace because the fire department who responded to our CO2 alarm on second night said "we were here two weeks ago for this". While we were able to complete one week at another less desirable property (with non functioning fireplace and hot tub) BRMR did not refund the entirely of our missing week and required us to pay for the days in their poorly maintained CO2 cabin. I was worried that the effects of Hurricane Helene would be that there would be less activities for my family. I never imagined (and guess owners don't either) that it would affect the ability of companies like BRMR to maintain their properties and endanger my family.

Extremely disappointing

Rented a large house in Banner Elk/Beech Mountain area for about 15 of us. Five days before we were due to arrive we get an email informing us our reservation at been canceled and that we’d be receiving about 1/4 of the money back. We called the company and got it worked out. Upon arrival to the house later that week we found that it had not been cleaned. Multiple trash bags on the floor, beds unmade, bathrooms dirty, etc. We called to let them know and were told our only option would be to move all of us to a different house just for one night until it could be cleaned. It was about 9:30pm at this point with snow rapidly coming down, making the visibility and roads a huge issue. We were also going to ski early the next day, so driving between houses to transfer our things really wasn’t an option. We let them know we were uncomfortable driving and would prefer to clean the house ourselves and instead get a refund for the first night. After lots of back and forth the company agreed. We spent our first night doing hours worth of laundry and cleaning to make the house sanitary enough for us to go to sleep. Luckily some of our group found out soon enough to stop and buy sheets before arriving to the house. The next morning we left to ski and when we came back at the end of the day, the house had been cleaned but the sheets we had bought were gone. The cleaning crew likely mistook our sheets for theirs and took them with them. We let the company know and asked that they be returned but we were told that wouldn’t be possible. We just received word that our “refund” for the first night would only be about $400, which is not equivalent to the full price of the first night. Extremely disappointing experience to say the least, think twice before booking with this rental company.

Wonderful views, well stocked, and lots of amenities. The game room was nice, along with the fire pit. A good layout for families to spread out as well!

House was wonderful and clean as…

House was wonderful and clean as always. Although, the kitchen was missing some key items, the trash bags provided were super thin and ripped and it was very cold and the pilot lights wouldn’t stay lit in either of the fireplaces.

Best In Class

BRMR staff are courteous, professional and truly want you to have a great experience in the home you rent. They try to get you in early if possible and are good about responding to questions quickly. The houses are always spotless and the maintenance techs are skilled and glad to answer questions as well.

VERY CLEAN

We chose a home through Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals as they had the best prices listed for the dates we wanted to stay. They have a variety of homes in all price ranges, and we were able to find the perfect cabin for our girls weekend. They were extremely informative once we booked regarding how to get to the home, check in/out procedures and made sure to provide plenty of warning that the home was AWD access only. We appreciated how clean the house was (I'm talking one of the cleanest rentals I've ever stayed in) and that they provided a binder full of information. We actually used the binder to locate a local pharmacy on the way to our outing at Beech Mtn. One of the guests in our group commented that the labels on the light switches were very helpful. There were more than enough toiletries for 1-2 nights and hot tub towels were provided. The only negative is that when we went to get in the hot tub the first night, the hot tub had no power. We unplugged the hot tub and plugged it into the outlet just above the one that it was plugged into and the hot tub powered right up. Unfortunately, we couldn't use the hot tub that night or all day the next day as it took time to come up from 64 degrees to 100 degrees. We were able to use it late on the 2nd night. we did reply to an email BRMR regarding the hot tub when they emailed to see how our stay was going, but we never heard back. The string lights on the back porch weren't working either, but we did have the overhead light.
